Chapter 72 Village Chief Helps

"Of course, how could I not side with my own people?" Zheng Dandan agreed with a smile. She had decided to build a factory in Ginkgo Village precisely because she wanted to help her neighbors.

"You all heard it, Dandan is on your side, you should also work harder and don't hold Dandan back." The village chief sternly warned the villagers.

The village chief was well aware of the villagers' moral character. While they might not be bad, they possessed many flaws. As the village chief, he wished for a good life for the villagers, but even more so, he wanted Zheng Dandan's cannery to thrive.

Setting up a factory is not a matter of one day or one night. The first thing to solve is the factory building problem.

"Mr. Zheng, the prices at the brick and tile factory in town are a bit high. I've talked to them, but they still can't meet your expectations." Tan Xueming found Zheng Dandan with a look of frustration on his face.

Zheng Dandan looked at Tan Xueming, thought for a moment and said, "Go ask the village chief for help."

"Village chief? How can he help?" Tan Xueming was surprised by Zheng Dandan's idea. It wasn't that he looked down on the village chief, but the performance of the village chief and the village cadres during the negotiation process was far from satisfactory, and they felt like a makeshift team.

There was no rules in the contract, and I just gave in based on his one-sided words...

"Tan Xueming, you underestimate the village chief." Zheng Dandan shook her head, feeling that Tan Xueming was a bit arrogant. Under Tan Xueming's skeptical gaze, she slowly said, "The brick and tile factory is a state-owned enterprise. The village chief may not be good at business and has no experience in contracting, but he has worked smoothly at the grassroots level for decades. How can it be simple?"

Upon hearing this, Tan Xueming suddenly understood.

"I was too one-sided," he said in self-reflection.

"Don't look down on anyone." Zheng Dandan looked at Tan Xueming.

"Yes." Tan Xueming responded, then hurried to find the village chief. Time waits for no one.

"What did you say? You want me to go to the brick factory with you to negotiate the price?" The village chief looked at Tan Xueming in astonishment, finding it a little unbelievable.

"Yes. Village chief, our village doesn't have any factories, so we have to build one. The brick and tile factory's prices are a bit high, and our cash flow is tight. Mr. Zheng said the village chief is a capable person, and with you in charge, we'll definitely be able to negotiate the price we want."

Under Zheng Dandan's guidance, Tan Xueming's attitude towards the village chief changed dramatically, and he showed genuine respect for him. He even praised the village chief in order to get him to agree.

"I'm from the organization, and it's not appropriate for me to discuss business with you." The village chief frowned.

Tan Xueming's attitude made him feel comfortable, but not enough to make him agree to help.

"Village chief, you are not going there to discuss business. You are going here to help with the village's construction. First, if we can negotiate the price of the brick and tile factory, we can have more factories in our village. Secondly, we can use the bricks and tiles to build houses, and provide temporary jobs for the villagers." Tan Xueming tempted him with benefits.

The village chief is a good one. He has some selfish motives, but he generally wants the best for the village.

Sure enough, the village chief hesitated after hearing what Tan Xueming said. He was mainly concerned about the second point.

Zheng Dandan had promised to build the factory in the village, so he wasn't in a rush. But if he could help the villagers find some temporary work and earn some money, it would be considered a real service for them.

Seeing the village chief wavering, Tan Xueming pressed on, "Boss Zheng said that the villagers of Ginkgo Village are all skilled workers. So after we bring back the bricks and tiles, we'll give them the opportunity to build houses. The wages may not be much, but they'll have a good New Year."

"Okay, I'll help you talk to him!" The village chief finally agreed after hearing this.
