Cream Ice Cream
Su Aimin held his hand and said, "I will come to thank you in person later. Please don't be polite to me."
Although the wound was not a big problem, he would have a headache when he looked at the materials and thought about it. The doctor said he had a mild concussion and had to stop the task at hand temporarily. In order not to affect the progress, he gritted his teeth and endured it without telling his colleagues. Fortunately, there was some leftover medicinal wine for him to use to relieve the headache.
Ji Weiqing couldn't get rid of the enthusiasm from his seniors. In the past, his teachers helped him, but now it was his turn to deal with it, he could only respond vaguely.
Su Aimin patted him on the shoulder and said, "I just realized that you are just quiet, not unsociable." He said that it was impossible for an academic to be so bad. This kid didn't understand the ways of the world at all and was too well protected. He was even a little jealous.
Ji Weiqing was forced to answer: "Maybe I was too focused on reading the literature and tended to ignore others." He liked quietness and didn't think there was anything wrong with him.
"It's okay. We are all young professors this time. We are not very familiar with each other. Maybe we will have the opportunity to work together in the future."
Ji Weiqing closed his eyes and rested his mind.
Su Aimin said to himself, "I've been away for a few months, and I don't know how my wife and children are doing. By the way, are you married? I guess you must be married. If you're not married, your school leaders will be more worried than your family."
"Yes, I got married this year."
Su Aimin's face was full of gossip: "What kind of job does your husband do?"
Ji Weiqing thought of his quirky little wife, and his face was filled with warmth: "She stays at home to take care of the children, and will not go back to work until the children start primary school."
Su Aimin laughed: "What a coincidence, my wife is the same. My son will go to junior high school this year, and my daughter is still young. When my daughter goes to school, my wife will continue to return to her job."
He asked curiously, "What did your wife do before?"
Ji Weiqing thought for a moment and said, "She must have been helping out at home before." He was frustrated to find that he didn't seem to know her well enough.
Su Aimin was a little confused. Could it be that his girlfriend was a student he brought up since she didn't work? He threw out the idea again. Maybe she was a girl who was spoiled by her family. Even if she was a student, as long as she didn't make any moral mistakes, it wouldn't be unacceptable.
Besides, the students they teach in this position have at least a postgraduate degree and are already of marriageable age. Even though there is a bit of an age difference, there is no problem with free love.
"If there is a chance, our two families can sit down and have a meal together. My wife is a good cook. How about your wife's cooking?"
Ji Weiqing's lips curled up slightly.
"She cooks delicious food, and she made the medicinal wine she used to disinfect you herself."
Su Aimin took out an empty wine bottle from his backpack.
"This is my life-saving wine. Thanks to you for bringing this bottle of wine up the mountain. You and your wife are my lifesavers."
Ji Weiqing stopped smiling and said, "Even without this bottle of wine, nothing will happen to you. Don't worry about it."
Su Aimin raised his hand: "It's not easy to find a bottle of wine under our conditions, thank you so much!" His wound was treated in time so it didn't become festering and worse, and it was also thanks to the medicinal wine that the concussion did not delay everyone's progress.
"I won't say much. If we work together in the future, I will protect you. Apart from anything else, I have a wide network of contacts."
He is older than Ji Weiqing, so he can be called his senior brother.
Ji Weiqing said in a neither humble nor arrogant manner: "Thank you, Senior Brother."
The electric fan in the living room turned its bulky head, dispelling the summer heat.
"Eighty-eight is sixty-four, eighty-nine is seventy-six... Oh, why are you hitting me again?"
Chen Xueren covered his head with his hands, his face full of accusations.
Song Shixia held up the teaching stick and said, "You're reciting it wrong. Is this the multiplication table you've been reciting for two days? Do you want me to repeat it to you again? How long did Yangyang recite it?"
Chen Xueren covered his ears and said, "I don't want to listen. He has a good brain and I have a dumb brain. I am just not as good as him."
"Keep reciting. If you finish today, you can get a bite of their cake tomorrow. If you can't finish, just watch from the side."
Song Shixia really couldn't understand why kindergarten kids could learn first-grade courses, but the actual level of these two fifth-grade students was at third-grade level. She had no idea how they managed to pass the exam.
She asked them how they calculated math problems on the test, and they said they counted on their fingers or drew small wooden sticks on paper.
Song Shixia could only express his admiration for them. No wonder they got zero points in the test. It was estimated that they could calculate a math problem of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division from the beginning to the end of the test.
As for their Chinese, they were only slightly better, at least they could recognize a few words, but there were many spelling errors. I guess the teacher couldn't bear to read it and didn't want to torture himself, so he gave them a few points as long as they wrote words in the composition.
After experiencing the criticism and education from the police uncle, Song Shixia never heard of the two bullying children again. Even the kids said that they were weird, but after asking, they found out that they didn't do anything bad, so they looked weird.
You see, it's always so uncomfortable to see a bad person turn over a new leaf. Song Shixia is also uncomfortable with it.
These past two days, Auntie Xie always comes over to help with homework. She finally has a child older than her to do homework with, and she is very happy.
Chen Xueren was finally willing to stand up because he was older than Xie Yun and he didn't know the answers to the questions Xie Yun asked him.
Fortunately, Xie Yan was just confused and didn't realize that he was a complete academic failure. In addition, Xie Yan's academic performance was very good, and only Song Shixia could help her with the questions she didn't understand, so she didn't doubt Chen Xueren.
Song Shixia deliberately said sarcastically: "Why bother? Since you don't have the brain to learn, you might as well give up."
Chen Xueren was not convinced and argued: "You said you would help us get into junior high school, but you're giving up after just a few days."
Song Shixia shook her head helplessly: "I can't help it. Who made you two so stupid? Look, my child doesn't need me to worry about him at all, so whose problem is this?"
Chen Xueren covered his ears and recited the multiplication formula aloud.
He felt that he had worked very hard. He had already memorized 8×8 and believed that he would be able to memorize 9×9 tomorrow. Wouldn't it be easy for him to get into junior high school?
Xie Yan's voice came from the yard: "Sister Xiao Xia, I'm here to do my homework!"
Chen Xueren shut up immediately, took out his homework and pretended to be very serious.
Song Shixia held back her laughter.
"Come on, if you have any questions today, you can ask Senior Chen Xueren for help."
Xie Huan was kept in the dark.
"But the questions our teacher assigned are so difficult. Chen Xueren definitely can't do them. Only Sister Xiaoxia can do them."
Chen Xueren nodded hurriedly.
"The questions your teacher gave you are only for middle school students. It's normal that I can't do them since I'm a primary school student."
Chen Xuemin glanced at Xie Yun's notebook, then looked at his own blank summer homework. It would be great if Xie Yun was in the same grade as him, so he could copy the homework.
Xie Yan looked at him and said, "What's wrong with Xuemin? You look unhappy."
Chen Xuemin curled his lips and made up an excuse: "Our homework is also beyond the syllabus, we need our aunt to give us some guidance."
Song Shixia didn't even want to expose them. How difficult could the fifth grade homework be?
In this family, only I and my two kids are the most honest.
Song Shixia got up from the sofa: "You guys write, I'll go wake up my brothers, they've already taken a two-hour nap."
Xie Yan spread out her homework book and said, "Xiao Xia, you go ahead. I have Xue Min and Chen Xue Ren to tutor me."
Song Shixia didn't know what to say. What's the point of these two tutoring? It's good enough if they don't hold her back. She really wanted to tell Nini the truth, but unfortunately Chen Xueren swore a solemn oath, so she could only help hide it for the time being and see when he would be exposed.
Chen Xueren scribbled on the notebook. He was anxious to know something, and finally couldn't help asking.
"Xie Yan, why are you calling my name?"
Xie Yun told the truth: "Because you are the most timid boy I have ever met, I really can't call you brother."
Chen Xueren became even sadder after hearing this.
He wanted to study secretly and exercise, anyway, to make sure his benefactor would not treat him differently from his brother.
Chen Xuemin was very happy because he didn't do anything and still got a sister.
Song Shixia looked back from upstairs: "You want to be a brother? Don't you have a sister at home?"
Chen Xueren muttered, "That's different. Xie Yan is my savior, and Chen Xueyan is a troublemaker."
The smile on Xie Yun's face froze. She saw the shadow of Ping An in Chen Xueren. Ping An used to bully her and her brother because of his mother's love. Later, thanks to the help of sister Xiao Xia, Ping An's bad habits were corrected and he learned to respect others.
Chen Xueren's true nature was exposed, and he didn't realize that he was teetering on the edge of being disliked.
"Xie Yan, I will run with my aunt every day in the future, and I will definitely make you look at me in a new light. One day, you will be convinced to call me brother."
Xie Huan was full of curiosity: "Then keep going. Is your sister's name Xueyan? What a nice name. What's her personality like? Is she easy to get along with?"
Chen Xuemin said hurriedly: "That girl loves to cry, and neither of us will play with her."
Chen Xueren said in a tone that deserved a beating: "My grandma said that my sister will get married in the future. It's useless for my sister to get full marks in the final exam. If you become my sister, I will protect you."
Xie Huan started to pack up her homework books.
"I never thought you were this kind of people. You treat me as your sister but not your own sisters. I'm so ashamed that I still call you two brothers."
Chen Xuemin was anxious: "Hey, we are talking about our sister and not you, why are you angry?"
"Of course I'm angry. If you don't treat your own sister as a relative, how can you treat me as a good friend? Anyway, I don't believe that people who are bad to their relatives can be good to their friends."
Xie Yun walked into the yard with her homework book, and Chen Xueren and his brother were dumbfounded.
"Brother, what did she mean?"
Chen Xuemin pinched his chin and said, "I don't know either. It seems that they said that we were not nice to Chen Xueyan, so she didn't want to play with us anymore."
Chen Xueren snorted and put his hands on his hips. "Why? We didn't bully Chen Xueyan. She's the one who cries. What does it have to do with us if grandma doesn't like her?"
Chen Xuemin shook his head: "I don't know."
Chen Xueren no longer had the mood to memorize.
Song Shixia went upstairs to wake up the children.
Ji Yuan hugged her neck and rubbed it: "Mom, I want to eat bean popsicles."
The boy felt hot, probably because he got too hot from sleeping.
Song Shixia kissed her little face: "Okay, I can give each of you a cream ice cream today."
"Great." The two kids immediately perked up.
Song Shixia went downstairs and found that Xie Yan was missing. Could it be that her bad student mask fell off?
She gloated: "What did you two do?"
Chen Xueren was unhappy: "Why did you mention Chen Xueyan? You made Xie Yan angry."
Song Shixia smiled and said, "Is it my problem?"
Chen Xuemin complained, "If you hadn't brought it up so suddenly, why would she have left?"
"Oh, Xie Yan is your friend, so Xue Yan is not your sister?"
Chen Xueren: “This is different.”
Song Shixia asked them back: "What's the difference? One is my biological sister, and the other is my friend. Is the friend more important than my sister?"
This question stumped the two brothers.
"You always say that your sister will get married and will no longer be a family with you. Do Nini's brothers think the same way?"
Chen Xueren slammed the table and said, "Then let's help her vent her anger and beat up her brother!"
Song Shixia smiled and said, "You are really good brothers who value loyalty."
Chen Xuemin still had some conscience: "How dare we bully Chen Xueyan? We even protected her!" His mother treated his sister as a treasure, so they didn't mess with her.
Chen Xueren agreed, "That's right, who in the alley dares to bully Chen Xueyan?" They would be scolded if his sister cried, and he would never play with a crybaby.
Song Shixia was too lazy to reason with them.
"Forget it, whatever happens. You two are so stubborn that you refuse to admit your mistakes. Let's see if Nini will pay attention to you."
She couldn't judge him for being impatient with his own sister at home but sticking up for friends he just met outside.
"Yangyang, come here and pick out the ice cream you like. Don't learn from your cousin, okay?"
