Crucian carp tofu soup

Crucian carp tofu soup

Ji Wei finished his early morning run and brought back three breakfasts, but the people in the quilt were sleeping soundly.

Song Shixia slept until she woke up naturally, and looked at the clock. It was already ten o'clock. The sunlight came in through the curtains, and there were two furry little heads on the bed.

Hey, when did these two little guys climb up?

As Song Shixia stood up, the two children closed their eyes one after another.

She simply squatted down and helped them button their clothes.

"When did you come here?"

Ji Yuan hugged her and said, "Dad, bring us here and wait for Auntie to wake up and take us to have breakfast."

Song Shixia blushed. The three of them slept until breakfast and they must be freezing cold now.

She felt a little guilty and asked, "Are you hungry?"

Ji Yuan shook his head obediently: "I'm not hungry, my brother's stomach is growling."

"No, I'm not hungry."

Ji Yang turned his head awkwardly, and his little ears turned red.

"I know you're not hungry, but I am. Let's go have breakfast."

Song Shixia held Ji Yuan, Ji Yuan held his brother Ji Yang, and the three of them walked in a row.

I thought I was going to heat water on the gas stove to heat up breakfast, but I didn't expect there was a soup pot on the coal stove.

The fire on the stove was very small, and there was half a pot of hot water in the soup pot. On top of it was a steaming tray, with the buns and soy milk kept warm.

This person looks cold but also quite caring.

Song Shixia asked the two kids to wash up. She took breakfast out of the pot and thought about making some buns and dumplings and putting them in the refrigerator for future use. She could just steam them in the pot every morning so she wouldn't have to buy them from the cafeteria.

The food in the cafeteria was average, not bad but not delicious either. Her life motto was to eat well and lie down anytime, and she would never skimp on food.

While I was having breakfast, there was a loud bang on the door. I knew it was Aunt Feng without having to guess the pattern of the banging.

When I opened the door, it was indeed Aunt Feng, holding a food bag containing two fish.

"I'll give you two fish during the cafeteria break. Don't think they're too small. There's not much meat, but they're very delicious when used to make soup."

Song Shixia was flattered and said, "How can I do this? The fish is still alive." Aunt Feng has three children and lives a frugal life, so at least it is a meal of meat.

"Hey, this is what my nephew brought yesterday. He went to the river to fish. I still have a few fish left at home. Yesterday, he drank two big bowls of mushroom stewed chicken soup out of a large table of dishes. He didn't eat a single bite of the chicken, but drank two whole bowls of soup. The dried food you dried in your house is really good. I have to thank you."

Song Shixia curled her eyes and said, "This shows that you are a good cook, so he likes to drink soup. Then I will accept the fish. If you like mushrooms, I will send you some after you finish eating them."

Song Shixia is not very interested in shiitake mushrooms. She only throws two into the soup to enhance the flavor, but she doesn't really like to eat them.

Aunt Feng was in a good mood on the way back to the cafeteria. It was comfortable to talk to Xiao Song without having to push him around and be polite.

Song Shixia took the food bag to the kitchen and poured the fish into a basin.

Ji Yuan ran over with a bun in his mouth to see the excitement.

"Wow, it's fish!"

Ji Yang discouraged his enthusiasm from behind: "Fish have the most bones. Grandma said that children can't eat fish because the bones will get stuck in their throats and they can't get them out."

Ji Yuan ignored him and wanted to reach out and touch the crucian carp swimming in the basin.

Song Shixia handed him a pair of chopsticks to prevent his hands from being stained with the fishy smell.

"Touch the fish with chopsticks and it will move on its own. Don't stretch out your hands."

Ji Yuan was squatting beside the basin teasing the fish. After eating his buns, Ji Yang sat on the sofa like a little adult. He picked up today's newspaper to cover his entire face, and his two short legs were shaking.

This scene is so cute. Can a little kid this small understand a newspaper?

Speaking of learning to read, she remembered something.

"Have you been to school?"

Ji Yuan came running over,

"We are in the kindergarten class, so Dad asked for a long leave for us."

Song Shixia half squatted and pinched his chubby face.

"Why do I ask for leave for you?"

Ji Yuan looked at his brother, with a look of helplessness in his eyes.

Ji Yang jumped down from the sofa and said angrily,

"Because I was a bad kid and fought with others." Now she must have disliked them.

Ji Yang ran to the room where the books were piled, and Ji Yuan carefully explained to his fingers,

"Brother is not a bad person, it was that person who spoke badly about us first."

Song Shixia found out the whole story. It was nothing more than kids comparing their parents. The two little guys only had a father, and they were always hurt by the careless gossips of children, which was exactly the same as what happened to her when she was a child.

Song Shixia touched his head.

"I believe your brother is not a bad person."

Ji Yuan's innocent face was full of expectation: "Will you be our mother?"

Song Shixia was in a complicated mood. She took him to the sofa and sat down.

"Yes, I will be with you until you grow up." Before, I thought it was nice to be a stepmother without having to have children, but now I feel sorry for this well-behaved and sensible child.

Ji Yuan was very happy, "I will have a mother in the future! Xiao Fang will not say that I was picked up as a child anymore."

Song Shixia hugged him and her heart softened. "When do you want to go to school? I will personally send you and your brother there and let all the kids know that you have a mother."

Ji Yuan shyly threw himself into her arms.

"I haven't made up my mind yet. I want to go to school with my brother."

If the fathers of these two little guys had not sacrificed themselves, they would have been the envy of other children in kindergarten.

When she was young, her parents remarried and abandoned her. She was ridiculed at school, but fortunately she had the best grandmother to rely on.

She didn't want these two kids to go through what she had gone through.

Yesterday, Aunt Feng gave her a piece of tofu, which was still in the refrigerator. She could use the tofu to cook fish soup. The two children couldn't eat fish, but they could eat tofu because it was nutritious.

Song Shixia cooked fish soup at noon, and found vermicelli and cabbage and radishes picked from Aunt Feng's yard to prepare dumplings.

She had flour at home, but didn't have any oil residue, so she used some snack pork residue, which came out steamed with a meaty aroma.

Song Shixia found radish again, and decided to make vermicelli stuffing with pork lard, radish, and cabbage. She did not make tofu vermicelli stuffing because she would use the tofu to make fish soup.

I pack 10 of each type of buns, so I don't have to go to the canteen to buy breakfast for a week. As for whether to make other breakfasts or buy ready-made biscuits to keep at home after a week, we'll decide later.

While Song Shixia was kneading the dough, Ji Yang and Ji Yuan were playing with building blocks on the sofa. The two children didn't like rolling around in the yard or chasing each other at home, which made her less worried.

The fish soup was simmered on the stove, and soon the aroma came out. Song Shixia added tofu and chopped green onions to the milky white fish soup. She didn't add too much salt, just a few drops of spiritual spring water, and the stewed fish soup was more delicious, even picky children couldn't resist it.

Ji Yuan was holding the building blocks in his hand, distracted.

"Brother, the fish soup smells so good."

Ji Yang poured cold water on him: "Fish have a lot of bones. If they get stuck in our throats, we will die."

Ji Yuan shuddered and the blocks in his hand fell.

“I don’t eat fish anymore.”

Ji Yang bit his lip, his face full of confusion.

"It's not that scary, as long as we take small bites."

Ji Yuan shook his head like a rattle.

"No, no, I don't want to eat it."

The children had small appetites, so Song Shixia gave each of them a pork fat vermicelli bun and a radish vermicelli bun, plus a bowl of fish soup with only tofu.

"I was worried that you might get fish bones stuck in your throat, so I didn't give you any fish meat. I checked the soup and there are no fish bones in it. You should be careful when drinking it."

Ji Yuan was a little scared, but the fish soup in front of him smelled so good, so in order not to upset his new mother, he took a sip.

Ji Yang was a man of few words. In order to set an example for his younger brother, he took a big sip of the fish soup. He didn't expect the fish soup to be so delicious and he drank the whole bowl in one gulp.

Ji Yuan was stunned.

"Brother is so amazing. He is not afraid of death at all."

Song Shixia didn't know whether to laugh or cry, "It's not that serious, just drink it slowly."

Ji Yuan took a sip of the fish soup, and then his eyes glowed like little bulbs.

“It’s delicious!”

He imitated his brother's heroic manner, buried his head in the bowl and drank the soup in big gulps. Song Shixia couldn't stop him.

There was an extra bowl in front of him, and Ji Yang's voice was so weak that it was almost inaudible.

"I want another bowl, thank you, Auntie."

Song Shixia didn't tease him and served him another half bowl.

"Don't drink too much. There's still half a pot left. You can drink more in the afternoon."

Ji Yang nodded obediently and returned to his seat with the small bowl.

After dinner, Song Shixia took the two children for a walk in the yard.

The little guys had big bellies and kept burping as they walked. They drank a bowl and a half of fish soup and ate two buns. She was afraid they would burst.

Song Shixia stroked his forehead and said, "I won't let you eat like this next time." Fortunately, the buns were not big, and an adult would feel full after eating four or five.

Ji Yuan hugged her thighs and said, "Fish soup is delicious. I like fish soup."

Song Shixia shook her head and refused: "You can't drink anymore. You can eat the things you like slowly. Don't force it. Look, your little stomach can't hold any more."

This three-and-a-half-year-old child already has a bulging belly, which looks both cute and funny.

Song Shixia reached out and poked him gently, and Ji Yuan stepped back shyly.

After finishing their meal, it was time for lunch. The two little guys didn't go back to their rooms but wanted to take a nap with her.

The bed is big anyway, okay.

There was a child sleeping on each side of her. An adult and two children were paralyzed in bed and sleeping soundly.

While the three of them were having a comfortable lunch break, someone else was being entangled and very troubled.

"I have been drinking tea for so many years, how can I not be able to distinguish Da Hong Pao? Don't try to fool me. Once a teacher, I am a father for life. I am very sad that you are unwilling to share even a little tea with me."

Ji Weiqing felt overwhelmed: "Teacher, you took the tea leaves from the table."

There wasn't much camellia to begin with, only enough for him to drink for half a month. He used to take a lunch break in the office every day, but after drinking some camellia yesterday and today, he felt refreshed and not sleepy at all.

He guessed that camellia might contain some substance that has the same refreshing effect as coffee. He did not doubt that there was anything wrong with camellia, it was just ordinary tea.

The dean stayed in his office and refused to leave. If it weren't for his age, he would have thrown away the place.

"I don't want to hear you. Where's the jar you brought yesterday?"

For the first time, Ji Weiqing realized that he could lie without changing his expression.

"At home, I poured the tea into this jar and took yesterday's tea home with me."

The dean couldn't do anything to him, but he just couldn't forget the tea he had yesterday.

He himself has a back pain problem. Ever since he drank the tea yesterday, his colleagues have asked him if he had had acupuncture somewhere and if he could walk briskly now.

The only change he could think of was related to tea. When the tea went into his stomach, he felt refreshed and relaxed.
