Returning to the shared apartment, Pan Han felt as if a thousand years had passed.
The room was clean, the floor was polished to a shine, and there was no smell in the toilet.
This kind of cleanliness gave Pan Han a great sense of virtuality. He doubted whether he had really been to the end of the world and whether he had really become an evolver.
"I must be dreaming." Pan Han looked around and muttered to himself.
He remembered the beginning, it was here that he was dumped by Chen Yun and Yan Xiaoli helped him pay the rent.
Seeing that he looked nervous, Yan Xiaoli asked with concern, "What's wrong?"
Pan Han hurriedly waved his hand to silence her. He was afraid of being woken up. What if he woke up and it was all a dream, and he was still the same loser who was dumped by his first love? What would he do?
Yan Xiaoli was at a loss for a moment and didn't know what to do.
Pan Han ignored him and walked straight into his own room, closed the door, and fell headfirst onto the bed.
"Why am I suddenly so tired?" Pan Han murmured, then closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Yan Xiaoli lay at the door and listened for a long time, but found that there was no movement inside. She was afraid that something had happened to Pan Han, so she pushed the door open and went in.
"So he fell asleep." Yan Xiaoli smiled bitterly, turned Pan Han over, covered him with the quilt, and walked out.
In a dream...
Pan Han came to an extremely empty space surrounded by darkness.
There was no light here, Pan Han could not see anything, yet he could see everything.
This place is both big and small, dark and bright; there is no time, but time feels like it is passing quickly; the five senses have been lost, but all kinds of information are present in the consciousness.
It was such a strange experience, it's hard to describe in words.
Pan Han floated in the darkness, not knowing how long it had been. It could be 1 second, or it could be 100 million years!
He spoke, “Let there be light!”
Suddenly, a ball of light appeared before his eyes, growing larger and brighter.
When the light ball grew to the size of a yoga ball, it stopped and no longer changed.
Pan Han looked at the ball of light, his facial features slowly recovering and his limbs able to move freely.
"Where am I?" Pan Han tried to speak.
"These are two questions." A voice came from the ball of light.
"What two questions?" Pan Han didn't understand what the light ball meant.
"Who am I and where is this?" the ball of light replied.
"So where is this?" Pan Han wanted to go closer and take a look at the light ball, so he moved forward, but he found that the distance did not get closer, it was still one step away.
"This is the Matrix."
"What is the Matrix?"
"The Matrix is everything and nothing."
"Then who are you?" Pan Han didn't quite understand what the matrix was.
"I am you."
"Then who am I?"
"have no idea."
Pan Han was completely confused. The ball of light was circling around him.
"Then why am I here?"
"Your question is very interesting, and I'd like to answer it."
"Then you tell me." Pan Han felt that this ball of light might be the Buddha, and his words were too profound.
"But I can't answer that."
"Why?"
"Because the time is not right."
"Uh! Do you think talking like that is funny?"
"One day, when you know why you came here, I will tell you naturally."
"If I already know why I came here, do I need you to tell me?" Pan Han was speechless. What on earth was the origin of this ball of light? Why was it so mysterious?
"So, why are you asking?" the light ball asked back.
"What the hell!" Pan Han was asked this by the light ball, and a flash of lightning instantly flashed through his mind.
For some reason, he seemed to suddenly understand what the ball of light meant.
But how to describe this understanding, I don’t know!
"Young man, you are very interesting!" At this time, the ball of light turned into a human figure, which was very similar to Pan Han's figure.
"Hey, you can actually transform." Pan Han panicked and took two steps back. Unfortunately, it was no use. He was still one step away from the light ball figure.
This is really weird, Pan Han thought to himself.
"You are the first one who made me transform. Interesting!" The humanoid light ball actually made a surprised sound.
"Didn't you just say that I am you? Why are you separating you and me now?" Pan Han was surprised that the tone had changed. There must be something strange.
"It seems that the opportunity has arrived." The human-shaped light ball became clearer and clearer, and its shape could be vaguely seen.
"Shit! Isn't that me?" Pan Han gasped, his heartbeat accelerating.
"Young man, calm down. I'm not used to such a fast heartbeat." The humanoid light ball said slowly.
"Possession! Definitely possession!" A thought popped up in Pan Han's mind.
"You should read less useless online novels!" The humanoid light ball began to speak human language.
"Can you tell what I'm thinking?"
"Nonsense, I am you!"
"Fuck! Isn't this just taking over someone else's body?"
"You'd better ask what I want." The humanoid ball of light shrugged.
"Oh yes! What do you want?" Pan Han was reminded by it and felt it made sense.
"Hey, I won't tell you!"
"You're paralyzed!"
"Swearing? That's boring and vulgar!" said the humanoid light ball, waving his hand.
"What do you want to do?"
"When you know what I'm going to do, I'll tell you!"
"Aren't you talking nonsense? If I knew, would I still ask?" Pan Han felt that he was being teased again.
"So, why are you asking?" The humanoid light ball forced a grin and made an awkward smile.
