Late at night, Kyoto is ablaze with lights. This city, home to nearly 30 million people, is home to countless top companies, universities, and hospitals.
Although it has a long history, this ancient city has also regained its youth with the rise of the Dragon Kingdom.
It attracts countless outstanding young people from surrounding provinces to come here to seek their fortune.
It’s a pity that Kyoto doesn’t believe in tears. New people keep coming in, and naturally old people also leave one after another.
As the saying goes, Kyoto is forever young, but you will eventually grow old.
A black Mercedes was driving in the traffic, sometimes crawling, sometimes speeding.
Uncle Cheng sat in the car, gripping the steering wheel tightly with both hands, with a lot on his mind.
He has lived a peaceful life for five years since leaving the organization, but unfortunately, it will be broken today.
Leaving the main road, the Mercedes-Benz drove into a small alley.
At the end of the alley is a three-story building with an ordinary appearance, surrounded by a circle of dilapidated high walls and a black gate tightly closed.
The plaque clearly reads - Nile Hotel.
With 100 meters to go, Uncle Cheng stopped the car. From a distance, the four large characters shone with golden light under the lights.
He narrowed his eyes, his breathing became disordered, and scenes of past memories flooded into his mind.
After a long while, he gradually calmed down. Then he started his Mercedes and headed straight for the gate.
After parking the car, he straightened his clothes and walked slowly to the door.
"Pah, pah, pah!" Three short knocks on the door.
A few seconds later, a small detection window opened in the middle of the door.
"Acheng, you're here." An old voice came from inside.
"Yes, Uncle Da." Uncle Cheng nodded and said in a low voice.
"That's good, come in." After that, the gate slowly opened, leaving a driveway.
Uncle Cheng turned around, got back into the car, and drove in.
After entering the door, there is a large yard with more than twenty parking spaces, with a few cars parked sparsely.
After Uncle Cheng parked the car, Uncle Da came to the front of the car on crutches.
"Uncle Da, long time no see." After getting out of the car, Uncle Cheng quickly held Uncle Da's arms.
"You kid, you still remember to come back. Have you forgotten about my old bones?" Uncle Da was a little hunched, and he tried hard to raise his head and look at Uncle Cheng.
"Uncle Da, are you okay?" Uncle Cheng said with a slightly nervous look on his face.
"Okay! It's just very boring." Uncle Da's voice suddenly became much clearer.
"You are blaming me."
"You have been doing well these past few years, right?" Uncle Da continued to ask.
"Thanks to you, everything is fine."
"You little bastard, you're just good at talking. Okay, go in. You must be anxious coming so late." Uncle Da tapped Uncle Cheng's butt with his crutch.
"Thank you, Uncle Da." Uncle Cheng was as obedient as a primary school student. He bowed to Uncle Da and went straight to the main building of the hotel.
When Uncle Da saw him walking away, he narrowed his eyes and stared at his back, his eyes extremely sharp.
Compared to the courtyard, the main building of the hotel is much smaller and more rustic. The windows of the rooms are covered with heavy curtains. From the outside, it is impossible to tell whether the lights are on. In the entire main building, only a thin ray of light can be seen from the lobby on the first floor.
Uncle Cheng pushed open the door and entered the hall, which contained several tables, chairs and a counter.
In the entire hall, there was only a tall and thin man with glasses standing at the counter, looking down at something.
"Hello, Ah Cheng." The man with glasses looked up at him, then lowered his head and continued to look through the pages.
"Hello, Thunder Dragon."
Although the two of them didn't talk much, they gave off an air of old acquaintance.
Uncle Cheng slowly walked to the counter and sat on a chair.
"Going home?" Lei Long finally put down his hands and looked up at Uncle Cheng.
"Check this person to see if he is part of the organization." Uncle Cheng did not answer directly, but stated his purpose directly.
"Bring it?" Lei Long stretched out a hand.
Uncle Cheng took out the gold coin from his pocket and handed it to him.
After Lei Long took it, he didn't even look at it, but put it in a metal cabinet next to him.
Ding! After a sound, the small light above the cabinet emitted a green light.
"Who are you checking?" Lei Long saw the green light and nodded to Uncle Cheng.
"His name is Pan Han, and this is his photo." Uncle Cheng took out his mobile phone, which contained a photo he had prepared in advance with Pan Han's name written on it.
"Wait." Lei Long took the phone and started typing information on the computer.
During the inquiry, Uncle Cheng seemed a little nervous, but he couldn't stare at the other person, so he had to look around.
It really hasn't changed at all, it's still the same old fan. Uncle Cheng was filled with emotion.
"There is no such person." Lei Long told Uncle Cheng after confirming the result.
His heart finally settled down, and Uncle Cheng breathed a sigh of relief.
"Thanks."
Before, it only took him two minutes to fool Wang Cheng, but now it only took him twenty seconds to investigate Pan Han.
A gold coin was gone just like that.
"What do you want to drink? It's my treat." Lei Long didn't chase anyone away, but started chatting with Uncle Cheng.
"Orange juice with ice." Uncle Cheng replied.
"It's still the same." Lei Long's expression gradually relaxed.
"Um."
"Is this person important?" Lei Long asked as he took the cup to make a drink.
"It's okay." Uncle Cheng answered ambiguously.
"Do you want additional service?" Lei Long handed over the orange juice.
"No thanks!"
"What a pity about this gold coin." Lei Long poured himself a glass of orange juice.
"It's good news that he's not from the organization. It's worth it." Uncle Cheng smiled embarrassedly.
"Are you coming back?"
"No."
"Okay, then finish this cup and let's go."
"learn."
The two of them didn't waste any words and fell into silence after a few short sentences.
