Chapter 29 Captain Wei Heshang

After Pan Han finished giving his instructions, he returned to the second floor alone, waiting for Cheng Xiao to call Monk Wei.

When they got to the room, he took out three cans of iced cola, drank one for himself, and left the other two for Cheng Xiao and the others.

Within 5 minutes, the two arrived. Cheng Xiao gave some instructions and went to guard the door.

"Sit down." Pan Han pointed to a chair and said to Monk Wei.

"I won't sit down. With the master in front of me, I can only stand." Monk Wei shook his head repeatedly.

"If you are told to sit, then sit and follow my orders."

"Yes!" Monk Wei answered loudly and sat down.

"Drink Coke."

"Thank you, Master Pan." Monk Wei opened the Coke a little stiffly and took a sip.

"Is it delicious?"

“It’s delicious.”

"I've seen your performance today, it's very good. This strange cola is a reward for you."

"Excuse me, sir. I am your slave. How can I not try my best?"

"Good boy! You're right. Come, have a cigarette." Pan Han handed Monk Wei another cigarette.

"Master Pan, you are so arrogant that you even have cigarettes."

"It's nothing. Okay, I'll give you this whole box." As he said that, Pan Han gave him the cigarettes and lighters.

Monk Wei took the cigarette and couldn't help but smell it. He quickly lit one for Pan Han and then lit one for himself.

Pan Han didn't say anything and let Monk Wei satisfy his craving for a cigarette first.

Monk Wei took two deep puffs and slowly exhaled smoke rings. His eyes were a little blurry and he seemed quite intoxicated.

"Haha, how long has it been since you last smoked?"

"To be honest, sir, it's been about five years."

"Come, tell me about your life story."

Cheng Xiao was standing at the door, drinking Coke and listening vigilantly to the movements in the house, with his pistol loaded and ready to be pulled out at any time.

"Where should I begin, my Lord, if I may ask you to tell me the story?"

"Well, you said everyone calls you Monk Wei. So tell me why you're called that."

"Yes, sir. I was an orphan and grew up in a temple. I joined a martial arts monk group at the age of ten and practiced until I was 20. Later, I followed my master to perform and fight in the ring. Two years later, the end of the world came." When Monk Wei said this, the cigarette had gone out. He was still on the ground, stepping on it with his foot.

Pan Han gestured for him to light another one, and Monk Wei looked grateful.

A puff of smoke rose, and Monk Wei slowly spoke again: "When the apocalypse first arrived, the temple fell quickly. I escaped and wandered all the way. I have no family, and my fellow disciples are all dead, so I'm all alone. I once joined a base, but it was later conquered by mutant beasts, and I became a complete refugee."

"In order to survive, I often take on mercenary missions. Oh, and by the way, it was when I was a mercenary that I captured a level one mutant zombie."

"But in this world, without power, you will eventually become a slave. I can't escape fate. Coming to you is my second time being a slave."

"So, you really are a Shaolin monk?"

"It's the real deal. That's why everyone calls me Monk Wei."

"So, do you know someone named Xie Baoqing?"

"I don't know him. What's the matter, Master Pan?"

"Nothing, just a reminder to stay away from Xie Baoqing."

"Oh..." Monk Wei was a little confused and didn't know what Pan Han meant.

"How long have you known the other 31 people?" Pan Han ignored him and continued asking.

"Not long ago. A while ago, I was injured in a fight with a mutant beast and fell into a coma. When I woke up, I was in a slave camp. I think the slave traders picked me up. I met these people in the slave camp. It's only been about ten days."

"I think you have good skills and courage. I plan to promote you to team leader to assist Boss Qin and others in managing slaves. Do you have any objections?" Pan Han explained his intention.

"Ah? Master Pan, this..."

"Don't be so fussy. We believe in promoting the capable. We have clear rewards and punishments. Whoever has the ability will come to the forefront."

"Sir, we just arrived and you are not familiar with us. Would you like to observe us for a while longer?" Monk Wei was a little reluctant.

"Ordinary slaves have a daily ration of 800 grams of food. Squad leaders can get 1,000 grams per day."

"Thank you, Master Pan, for your appreciation. Captain, I've done it!"

When Monk Wei heard that the team leader could eat 200 grams more food, there was no reason for him to be unwilling, so he quickly agreed.

"Haha, kid! That's right! Our base will expand sooner or later, and I will focus on observing young and promising people like you." Pan Han said.

"That's for sure. With all the supplies Lord Pan has, he can easily sweep across our Dragon Nation." Who says monks don't flatter? That's quite skilled.

"Don't be so rude, kid. I'm telling you, if I let you be the team leader, I have requirements."

"Your Excellency, you said that monks are willing to go through fire and water."

"You guys are all strong laborers, so first of all, you have to supervise everyone's work. Our base's wall is unstable and needs to be reinforced as soon as possible. Once the wall is up, we'll have to train everyone in shooting and fighting."

"Understood! Sir, I'll take care of these matters."

"You should be able to tell that the attack just now was not simple."

"Yes, sir, it was obviously arranged by someone." Monk Wei said with a frown.

"Yes, so we don't have much time left." Pan Han stood up and patted Monk Wei on the shoulder.

Monk Wei quickly stood up, looked at Pan Han and said, "Understood, sir."

"Okay, let's go out. It's time to eat. You should eat well these two days so that you will have the strength to work."

After saying that, Pan Han opened the door, called Cheng Xiao and went straight to the first floor.

"Take Monk Wei to the slaves and announce to everyone that Monk Wei will be the team leader from now on. Everyone will be under his management temporarily. When you're done, come back for dinner." Pan Han said to Cheng Xiao.

"Okay, Master Pan." Cheng Xiao accepted the order and left with Monk Wei.

Qin Zhong saw Pan Han and his companions coming down and immediately went to greet them. Pan Han then explained the appointment to Qin Zhong.

After the battle just now, Qin Zhong also thought highly of Wei Heshang, so he naturally had no objection to him being the team leader.

The two chatted about the battle for a while, and then the second sister asked everyone to start eating.

The fighting was intense today, and everyone was exhausted. So dinner was a feast, with stewed meat, rice, vegetables, and even a few cans of fruit.

Pan Han and the seven members of the Dawn team ate and chatted, and the atmosphere was quite lively.

Suddenly Pan Han remembered something, asked everyone to eat first, and ran to the second floor.

After he entered the house, he took out two bottles of white wine and a bottle of whiskey from the space.

"Look, what is this?"

Everyone was excited when they saw the wine Pan Han took out from behind.

In the apocalypse, there wasn't enough food to eat, so how could there be any left to make wine? These three bottles of wine were truly top-tier supplies.

"Oh my goodness, Lord Pan really has whiskey." Lao Liu happily held the whiskey and started dancing with his hips.

"Let's drink to our heart's content tonight!" Pan Han waved his hand.

Everyone applauded enthusiastically and quickly went to find their cups.
