Chapter 30 Healing

When Ji Xian traveled back in time, he witnessed a terrifying scene.

A giant wolf, taller than a horse, stood behind Xia Luoxue.

It bared its fangs and cunningly approached Xia Luoxue silently.

However.

Xia Luoxue was still counting numbers with her eyes closed.

"...471, 472, 473..."

Ji Xian shouted in terror, "Danger! Run!"

Because of his shout, Ju Julang didn't bother to conceal his footsteps and pounced straight at Xia Luoxue.

Ji Xian didn't have time to think, so he dropped what he was holding and pounced on it.

He grabbed Xia Luoxue and rolled her to the side.

Xia Luoxue opened her eyes and exclaimed in surprise, "You're back?"

"Silly girl, don't just focus on counting, look around too."

Xia Luoxue then noticed that there was a giant wolf where she had just been sitting.

Xia Luoxue was also a little scared, but when she saw Ji Xian come back and hug her, she couldn't help but smile: "You're the one who told me to close my eyes and count."

"Sigh!" Ji Xian was speechless, unable to complain or argue. "What do we do now?"

Xia Luoxue immediately pulled out her repeating pistol.

"Slap! Slap! Slap!" The blow landed on the giant wolf's forehead.

The giant wolf went berserk and pounced.

Xia Luoxue gripped the gun with both hands and continued aiming at the giant wolf's wounded forehead.

"Clap clap clap!"

Three more shots were fired.

But the giant wolf still pounced fiercely.

Xia Luoxue's three shots missed, probably because she was injured and unable to concentrate as usual.

Ji Xian reacted quickly, grabbing Xia Luoxue's arms and pulling her away.

The giant wolf missed its target and was about to pounce again.

Ji Xian hurriedly stood up and defiantly stretched out his hand: "Come on, chase me!"

As expected, the giant wolf's attention was drawn to Ji Xian, and it lunged at him.

Ji Xian dodged in a flash: "Come on, come on, come and chase me."

The giant wolf turned around and chased after Ji Xian.

Ji Xian's physical condition is not what it used to be; now he can dodge giant wolves.

He dodged the giant wolf's attack again and drew his laser pistol.

As the giant wolf lunged at him head-on, Ji Xian swiftly aimed at the wolf's forehead.

The laser gun fired silently, and a beam of light pierced directly through the giant wolf's skull, causing the wolf to collapse to the ground with a thud.

Before Ji Xian could react, he found that the giant wolf had already collapsed, and he could hardly believe his eyes.

This laser pistol is incredibly powerful!

Traditional loaded handguns simply can't compare.

If I had known this laser gun was so powerful, I should have gotten one for Xia Luoxue too.

Xia Luoxue looked at Ji Xian in shock: "You actually lured it away to save me?"

"Or what?"

"Why would you go to such lengths for me?" Xia Luoxue asked.

"Ah, isn't this just common sense?" Ji Xian scratched his head, not feeling that he needed any reason to do so.

Xia Luoxue asked, "You give me food, take care of me, and protect me, why?"

"What do you mean 'why'? Don't ask these nonsensical questions. Let's check if your injury is serious." When the giant wolf pounced, Ji Xian only managed to pull Xia Luoxue away in a moment of panic. He didn't know if it had aggravated her wound and caused further damage.

Xia Luoxue said, "It's just a little blood, it's nothing."

Ji Xian picked up the medicine he had bought. Fortunately, the medicine was packed in plastic bags and had not been dusted.

"What do you mean 'just'? You don't feel bad about losing so much blood? I do. Remove all the bullets around your waist and pull your clothes up a bit so I can apply medicine and bandages for you."

Xia Luoxue was so moved she didn't know what to say. It was the first time she had heard anyone other than her parents say they felt sorry for her. She obediently removed the bullet belt from her waist, pulled up her clothes to expose her wound, and let Ji Xian treat it for her.

Xia Luoxue had mixed feelings. She didn't want things to be this way. She wanted to appear stronger in front of Ji Xian, but she could never be strong enough. She was always taken care of and protected by Ji Xian.

Feelings were taking root in her heart, and she felt she was becoming more and more inseparable from this person.

Ji Xian bandaged Xia Luoxue's waist, and Xia Luoxue felt a warm sensation all over her waist.

Ji Xian said, "Alright, you rest here for a bit. I'll try to find a vehicle to take you away."

Xia Luoxue shook her head: "I can walk, let's leave directly."

"You're talking nonsense! How can we let you leave looking like this?"

Xia Luoxue didn't want to hold Ji Xian back, nor did she want Ji Xian to be in a difficult position to find a vehicle for her, so she added, "It's not safe here; the smell of blood will attract more mutated creatures."

Ji Xian then remembered this.

Ji Xian operated the wristband to bring up the drone's view.

The drone was charged with 100 energy points, which would consume 1 point every 10 minutes, enough to keep the drone airborne for a long time.

They conducted a search from the perspective of a drone.

Two vehicles escaped from the zombie horde not far away.

They are members of the Sandworm Mercenary Group.

They had threatened Ji Xian before, but Ji Xian coaxed them into going to find the food he had left behind.

Ji Xian originally thought that when they saw that the ruins were full of zombies, they would give up and turn back.

Surprisingly, they still dared to rush in even after seeing the zombies.

They'd risk their lives for food.

Ji Xian now saw that each of their two vehicles had several zombies hanging on it.

The zombie clung to their car, refusing to let go.

Ji Xian was too lazy to look at this anymore.

He wanted a vehicle, and it was clear that these people didn't have vehicles so easily.

Ji Xian then used a drone to search the area again.

There were no vehicles nearby, but the helicopter and mechs we had seen earlier landed about 80km away.
