Ji Xian was speechless and rolled his eyes: "Give me the IOU, I'll pay it off for her first, and then I'll ask her for the debt back later. Do you understand debt transfer?"
The gang leader was overjoyed; the person in front of him was actually going to help that woman pay off her debts.
That would be perfect, saving him a lot of trouble.
The gang leader produced an IOU.
"The IOU is here. So, how will you transfer the money to me?" the gang leader asked cautiously.
Ji Xian hung his backpack on one arm and reached inside to take out a wad of cash.
The gang leader instinctively reached out.
Ji Xian slapped the wad of cash into the gang leader's hand.
He then reached into his bag again and took out another wad of cash.
It was slapped onto the gang leader's hand again.
This continued for a while, and soon the gang leader had a huge pile of cash in his hands. He had no choice but to reach out with both hands to take the cash that Ji Xian handed him.
The gang leader stared at Ji Xian's hands, dumbfounded as she pulled out stacks of cash.
How much cash was in his backpack?
What kind of person would wander around outside at night with a backpack full of cash?
Is this person out of their mind?
But the gang leader dared not speak, nor did he dare ask.
They could only awkwardly accept the cash.
As for why Ji Xian took them one stack at a time, there was no other reason than to show off.
As he pulled them out one stack at a time, seeing the thug leader's shocked expression, Ji Xian felt a secret sense of satisfaction.
"200,000, no more, no less. Give me the IOU," Ji Xian said.
The gang leader looked down at the mountain of cash he was holding, his head numb, and let Ji Xian take the IOU from between his fingers.
The gang leader snapped out of his daze and called to his underlings, "Brothers, let's go!"
The underlings who had just been beaten to the ground had mostly recovered. They got up and looked at the money in their boss's hand, speechless.
You should have just said you had money, otherwise it would have turned out like this. They got beaten up for no reason.
The thugs had all left, and Ji Xian, holding the IOU, leisurely walked up to Song Shuhui.
Song Shuhui was shocked when she saw Ji Xian take out so much cash, but she quickly hid her expression, put on a pitiful look, and said, "Thank you for helping me."
"Yes, that's to be expected."
Ji Xian meant that he should thank them, since they weren't familiar with each other anymore.
But Song Shuhui clearly misunderstood Ji Xian's meaning.
Song Shuhui said, "I didn't expect you to still be the same as before, still so good. I was wrong back then, I shouldn't have broken up with you. How about I invite you to my house for a visit?"
Ji Xian asked in confusion, "Now?"
"Mmm!" Song Shuhui lowered her head, looking very innocent.
Ji Xian felt a pang of sadness at Song Shuhui's current state. Back then, she was thousands of miles away from him and wouldn't even hold his hand, but now she was actually taking the initiative to invite him to her home.
Ji Xian immediately agreed.
Before long, Song Shuhui brought Ji Xian to a group of houses in the city that were about to be demolished.
The houses here are very old, and probably because they are so old, many of them have the word "demolish" sprayed on them.
Ji Xian never dreamed that her former goddess would fall to such a state.
Song Shuhui said, "As you can see, this place is a demolition area. I really have nowhere to live, so I rented this place temporarily because the rent is cheap."
"Oh." Ji Xian didn't know how to express his feelings at this moment. Back then, he and Song Shuhui were dating... oh no, strictly speaking, it wasn't dating. It was just Ji Xian pursuing Song Shuhui one-sidedly, while Song Shuhui kept him hanging on.
Song Shuhui only liked wealthy second-generation heirs. After meeting one, she resolutely dumped Ji Xian and severed all ties with him.
Clearly, she encountered a fake rich second-generation and was badly scammed.
She chose this path herself. No matter how poor or incompetent Ji Xian is, he wouldn't let a girl live in a place like this.
As Song Shuhui spoke, tears streamed down her face: "The rent here is cheap, but it's going to be demolished next month. I'm really suffering, I don't know what to do, sob sob..."
Ji Xian wanted to comfort her, but didn't know how, and also felt a little sympathy for Song Shuhui.
Suddenly, Song Shuhui rushed into his arms and burst into tears: "You will help me, right? I know how you feel. You like me, right?"
"Uh... um." Ji Xian opened his arms, somewhat at a loss, but still accepted it.
"I knew you were the best. So it's settled then. I'll be your girlfriend from now on, and you can't let me down." Song Shuhui said, leaving Ji Xian's embrace and taking his hand.
Ji Xian felt something was off, but he nodded nonetheless; he was a man of deep affection and loyalty.
Song Shuhui asked happily, "If I have a child, will you still be with me?"
Ji Xian frowned. Why did she suddenly ask this question?
But Ji Xian thought about it carefully and replied, "As long as it's someone I truly like, I don't mind if they have children or are divorced."
Upon hearing Ji Xian's words, Song Shuhui was overjoyed and proud, saying, "That's wonderful! In that case, I'll be honest with you... I'm already three months pregnant."
"What!" Ji Xian was shocked. "You're three months pregnant, and you still want to be my girlfriend?"
"Yes, once the child is born, you should raise it as if it were your own."
Suffocated, Ji Xian took a deep breath and said with a serious expression, "I cannot accept this!"
"Why can you accept someone with children and who is divorced, but not someone who is three months pregnant?"
