Chapter 49 Faith

The slave owner beat her while complaining about her.

But she didn't want to either.

The slave owner only gave her a little bit of nutrient solution every day, which was not even enough to maintain her basic health, so how could she grow?

A few days passed in the blink of an eye.

Li Youmi sits on the ground or leans against a pillar every day to reduce the consumption of her body's energy.

That day, Li Youmi saw a man and a woman walk into the slave market.

Li Youmi spotted the man immediately.

That man seemed different from the others.

He looked around, his gaze towards the surrounding slaves seemingly filled with pity.

That's impossible; no one in this world can have pity on another.

If she existed, she would have been bought long ago.

However, Li Youmi still trusted her intuition. After all, if she wasn't bought soon, she would starve to death here sooner or later.

Under Li Youmi's expectant gaze, the man and woman gradually drew closer.

When Li Youmi heard the man say that he needed a slave who could program, she was overjoyed.

He broke free of the rope and rushed over without hesitation.

She was too thin and small; it was difficult to tie her up with rope.

She rushed to the couple as she wished, but having been tied up for too long and lacking nutrition, she had no strength in her legs and collapsed to the ground.

But she ignored the pain, raised her head, and tried her best to put on a flattering smile.

"Sir, buy me, I can do software programming."

She seemed to see the surprise on the man's face, and the man seemed to be wavering as well.

However, the whips behind him came one after another.

“You dare to run around, I’ll let you run around, I’ll let you run around…” The slave owner beat her mercilessly.

In the past, Li Youmi always endured the pain, and no matter how much the slave owner beat her, she would never cry out.

But for some reason, she couldn't hold back any longer today.

Tears welled up in her eyes: "Ah, it hurts, it hurts..."

Perhaps it was because they saw a glimmer of hope.

The man was indeed as compassionate as she had imagined.

"Stop hitting him!" the man shouted.

However, her slave owner misunderstood the man's meaning.

“I’m so sorry, sir. My slave has offended you. If whipping her is not enough to vent your anger, I can subject her to torture.”

“No, that’s not what I meant,” the man said.

Just when Li Youmi thought she was about to change her fate, an explosion occurred beside her.

The pain blurred her consciousness.

I don't know how much time passed.

"Ah, is he dead? What a useless piece of trash..."

When she regained consciousness, she heard the slave owner's voice.

Li Youmi could feel the slave owner's cold mechanical arm lift her up, take her somewhere, and then throw her down again.

Li Youmi couldn't do anything; she couldn't move her entire body at all, and she didn't even have the strength to open her eyes.

She broke down and wanted to cry, she wanted to scream, she wanted to stand up and run away from this place.

In her hazy consciousness, she got up and ran freely, running and running until she left the constraints of this world.

But whenever she regained consciousness and became slightly more alert, she would find that he was still lying in the same spot, never having left, and hadn't moved an inch!

I started hallucinating.

She could feel her body's life slipping away.

Perhaps she should believe in some kind of god or something.

If she had faith in God, she wouldn't seem so helpless now; at least she could pray to God.

"If gods truly exist, please save me," she said in her heart.

In a daze, a figure appeared beside her.

She couldn't see clearly.

Is it that man?

Or... a god?

Yes, it must be a god, a god has come to save him!

With her last ounce of strength, she raised her hand, trying to grasp the divine, before her consciousness once again sank into chaos.

She knew it was too late; she was about to die.

When she couldn't feel anything, it felt like someone was holding her hand.

She felt someone inject her with something.

That person is saving her!

My mind was foggy, but I could hear some sounds coming through.

"...Only by living can there be hope..."

"...As long as you live, I can give you everything you want..."

"...I have everything..."

"..."

Ah, this is indeed a god.
