Ji Xian: "Fine, that's enough. Hmph, once your period is over, I'll definitely eat you up."
Xia Luoxue turned her head away, her face flushed, and didn't say another word.
Soon, a middle-aged man entered the VIP room.
The middle-aged man was wearing a beige shirt with an open, loose black coat over it, the cuffs and collar of which were trimmed with gold.
This outfit might seem a little odd in the real world, but compared to people on the street, it's really beautiful.
Coupled with his neatly combed slicked-back hair and meticulously trimmed goatee, he possessed a unique kind of fashion sense.
The middle-aged man came in and exchanged a few simple pleasantries.
"Hello, my name is Jemoka, and I am the manager of this trading house. You can have the items you want to trade appraised and valued by me."
Ji Xian took out the bag of potato chips from earlier and gave it to Jemocha.
The Jemocha comes with a built-in scanner. It scans the potato chip bag and projects the chip data back into the air.
Looking at the data, Jemoka exclaimed, "This looks like a really good item, but why is there so much air in the packaging? The amount of food seems much less than it appears!"
That's how potato chips are; a bag is mostly filled with air. There are many unscrupulous merchants in the real world, and there's nothing Ji Xian can do about it.
Ji Xian was too lazy to argue and said directly, "Don't use that scanner to scan around, it's pointless. Just open a package and try it first."
Jemoka asked incredulously, "You mean, I can try it, right?"
Ji Xian casually replied, "Yes, consider this package a gift for you."
Jemoka suddenly laughed: "You're very generous, customer."
Behind him, Xia Luoxue whispered in Ji Xian's ear with heartache, "I was lying to you before. These potato chips are worth far more than I told you. Why did you just give them away so casually?"
Ji Xian didn't say anything, just smiled at Jemoka.
Jemoka carefully unpacked the potato chips.
A distinctive aroma of potato chips wafted over.
Jemoka's eyes widened: "Wonderful, absolutely wonderful! This is truly a delicacy."
Seeing Jemoka's exaggerated expression and praise, Ji Xian felt no joy; instead, he just wanted to roll his eyes.
The people in the post-apocalyptic world seem to have never seen anything like it.
Only Xia Luoxue, upon hearing the praise, agreed, saying, "Of course! But you must be careful and offer a suitable price!"
Jemoka nodded, reached out, and carefully picked up a potato chip with two fingers, afraid that he would break it if he used too much force.
He put the potato chips in his mouth.
"Snap!"
A brief silence.
Then.
Jemoka's eyes widened.
It's delicious, absolutely delicious!
What are these potato chips made of? How can they be so crispy and delicious?
He couldn't help but think of the time before the apocalypse, when he was a four or five-year-old child and his parents had bought him something called potato chips.
That thing was never eaten again after the apocalypse.
Now, this small potato chip evokes his memories.
He couldn't help but burst into tears.
Potato chips are said to be made by frying sliced potatoes.
This approach is far too extravagant in the apocalypse.
Jemoka couldn't resist trying another piece.
"Snap!"
It's delicious...
It's really delicious!
Potato chips have a kind of magic; once you eat one, you want to eat a second.
If this is true for people in the real world, it is even more true for people in the post-apocalyptic world who have never tasted good things.
After finishing his chips, Jemoka encountered the same problem as Charlotte: Why is there so much air in this bag of chips? Why can't there be more chips? It's all gone before I've had my fill! How annoying!
Ji Xian didn't say anything and patiently waited for Jemocha to finish eating.
Xia Luoxue couldn't wait any longer: "Well, can we set a price now?"
Jemoka thought for a while and then said, "I have to admit that this is definitely a good product, but the amount of food in this package is too small, so I think if the quantity is the same, I should price it at 20 energy points."
Xia Luoxue immediately shouted, "20? Are you kidding me? There's no way this is only worth 20!"
Ji Xian was taken aback and cast a questioning look at Xia Luoxue. She hadn't said that to him before. She had told him that it was worth two energy points. But now that they were at the trading post, she was saying something different. Sure enough, Xia Luoxue was up to no good. He would deal with her later.
Jemoka said with difficulty, "But there's really very little food in this bag."
Xia Luoxue argued logically: "As you know, food cannot be grown on the land of this world. Only through special methods can food be grown, but the yield is extremely low. It only circulates among the nobles underground and never reaches the surface. My master has been able to bring so much food. How much more do you want? Do you think this food is as cheap as wasteland?"
Xia Luoxue argued with Jemoka logically, saving Ji Xian from wasting his breath.
Ji Xian found Xia Luoxue's explanation quite amusing; in order to raise the price, she had even lowered herself to address Ji Xian as her master.
The idea is to raise prices by elevating the status of seasonal leisure goods.
Jemoka couldn't help but scrutinize Ji Xian more closely.
Ji Xian's appearance was striking; his exposed skin was sunburned, and his body looked weaker than the average person. He lacked the humble or cunning demeanor that most people in the post-apocalyptic world possessed. His casual demeanor was indeed unlike that of an ordinary person.
Don't the underground nobles all have super-powerful gene-enhancing drugs? How come they can't even resist ultraviolet rays?
