Song Jinqiao and Bai Di looked at each other, and their gazes fell back on Thatcher.
"Do you know about the Desert Temple?"
Thatcher raised his eyelids and glanced at them, then turned and walked into the darkness. Song Jinqiao pulled Bai Di and followed. Suddenly, a small light appeared in the darkness.
Thatcher held the sea crystal lantern in her hand and looked through piles of scrolls with painted words. The number of these scrolls was so large that Song Jinqiao was amazed.
"Here, this is what you want." Thatcher tossed them a scroll with calligraphy. Song Jinqiao quickly took it and handed it to Baidi, since he couldn't understand the words on it. Baidi opened it and read it before returning it to Thatcher.
"Do you know why the Desert Temple was destroyed? This painting doesn't mention that."
What was not mentioned was the key to their trip.
Thatcher glanced at them in surprise, but only for a moment. He lowered his eyes again and said, "Why are you two looking for this? Since it's not mentioned in the painting, there's nothing to say about it. So I advise you to give up as soon as possible. If you can't get anything out of me, then there's no way you can ask anywhere else."
After saying that, he sent them away.
Song Jinqiao looked back and returned home with Bai Di.
"He must know something, but he just doesn't want to say it." Song Jinqiao frowned, "We have to find a way to pry him open."
The next day, Song Jinqiao and Bai Di took the two little ones to the Colosseum, hoping that they would remember something after seeing the familiar environment. There was a slave trade around the Colosseum, where you could buy all kinds of slaves.
[In fact, the slave trade here is relatively small. The slave trade in the western continent is much larger.]
Those orcs were either bound by chains and collars, or locked in cages, and traded like commodities.
Song Jinqiao was walking along the path with the two little ones, flanked by slave owners. Suddenly, there was a commotion ahead. She looked over in confusion, "What happened?"
[It seems like some beastmen are causing trouble.]
After listening for a while, I finally understood what was going on. It was probably about two cubs trying to escape, but they were discovered by the slave owner and caught.
"Mother, mother!" Yasen pulled her skirt, his voice excited, as if he saw something familiar.
Song Jinqiao looked over in confusion: "What's wrong? What did you see?"
Sophia whispered, "I know those two cubs."
While Song Jinqiao was talking to the two little guys, the slave owner's whip had already fallen on the two cubs, and he kept cursing.
"You two little bastards, if it weren't for the fact that you could still be sold for a good price, I would have beaten you to death long ago!"
"I'll teach you a lesson this time. Let's see if you dare to run away again!"
None of the orcs around, whether they were passing buyers or sellers, showed any sympathy or even glanced at them, unless they were looking to enjoy a good show and would only glance twice.
"Wait!" Song Jinqiao stopped the slave owner from swinging the whip.
The slave owner was originally angry, but was suddenly stopped. He was about to curse, but when he looked up and saw that it was a female, he quickly changed his expression.
"What can I do for you?"
Song Jinqiao pointed at the cub lying on the ground, almost covered in blood, and said, "I want to buy both of them."
