Chapter 11 Midsummer Can Bring the Dead Back to Life

The witch doctor was apprehensive. With such severe injuries, there was basically no chance of survival; it would only be a waste of his witchcraft.

He checked again and discovered that Kong Ling not only had serious external injuries, but also a large dent below her ribs, as if she had been hit by something.

A man with short black hair in the group said anxiously, "Witch doctor, you must save him! If he hadn't stopped that giant python, we would all be dead today!"

The chief sighed, looked around to suppress the murmurs of the crowd, and said, "Witch doctor, do your best to save him. As for the rest... I hope he can pull through."

The witch doctor had no choice but to proceed, as Kong Ling was too injured to move due to excessive blood loss.

He sat down on the ground and stretched out an old hand, placing it on the wound.

The hand emitted a soft green light that shone on the wound, and the bleeding stopped at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Everyone around held their breath and watched nervously.

Even in the height of summer, my heart was in my throat.

She had seen scenes of witch doctors saving people in the original owner's memories, but they were far less shocking than seeing it in person.

After a long while, the witch doctor sitting on the ground swayed, his face pale, and large beads of sweat slid down his forehead.

Those nearby rushed forward to support him, anxiously asking, "Witch doctor, how is he? Is Kong Ling saved?"

The pale-faced witch doctor slowly raised his head: "I can't save him."

Phoenix Butterfly went crazy and grabbed the witch doctor's arm: "Impossible, he's still breathing, I just checked and he's still breathing!"

"Hey, Shengxia, Shengxia, come out here! Don't you have healing abilities? Come out and save people!"

Long Yue, who was beside her, couldn't stand it anymore and stepped forward to persuade her: "Feng Die, even the witch doctor said he's beyond saving, so it's even less likely that the vicious female Sheng Xia is saved."

Fengdie slapped Long Yue's hand away, her brows furrowed as she blurted out, "Are you worried that Kong Ling is more outstanding than you, and that you'll fall out of favor once I mark him?"

Long Yue was a little surprised. Why would she think that?

He has always tried his best to get her whatever she wanted, and Kong Ling is no exception.

Kong Ling agreed to become mates with Feng Die after returning from the hunting team, but it was only because Long Yue coerced and tempted him!

It's disheartening that Swallowtail Butterfly thinks this way now: "No."

In the height of summer, she hid in the crowd, watching this farce unfold.

Thinking back to the original plot, the female lead seemed to have a childhood sweetheart who died before they could get married. Could it be Kong Ling?

She was torn between her inner thoughts and her rational mind, and was unwilling to help people get involved in this mess.

Emotionally, she felt guilty watching a healthy person slowly die while she had the ability to save them.

What if... I'd regret it for the rest of my life.

There was a lot of discussion around, but no one believed that Sheng Xia really had healing abilities.

"If even the witch doctor couldn't save her, Shengxia definitely can't."

"Yeah, even if she awakens it, it probably won't be a useful skill."

"Didn't you see how thin and hungry she looked?"

The butterfly was extremely anxious; she had gone to play by the stream yesterday.

He overheard Shengxia and Chengguo's conversation and learned that she had awakened a healing ability. He scoffed and didn't believe it.

His own talent was one in a hundred years, and he had only just awakened a low-level superpower that allowed him to hold back.

Awakening healing powers in the height of summer? She didn't believe it.

At this moment, looking at the dying Peacock Feather lying on the ground, she preferred to believe that Sheng Xia had real skills.

She wants Kong Ling to live!

"Shengxia, come out quickly! He's still breathing! Please save him!"

Looking at Fengdie pleading, Shengxia felt that Fengdie seemed to be quite loyal and affectionate. Why didn't she let herself go in the original story?

At this moment, the Wolf King walked over, his brows slightly furrowed.

The tone was warm, but the words spoken were icy cold: "Shengxia, you have the right to refuse. Whether you save her or not, I will support you."

Sheng Xia felt a warmth in her heart, as if she had gained boundless courage, and said softly, "Okay, I'll try, but I can't guarantee I can save him."

Upon hearing this, Fengdie wanted to say something, opened her mouth, but in the end said nothing and made way for Shengxia to save the person.

Upon reaching him, Sheng Xia realized just how serious Kong Ling's injuries were. She estimated that he could be saved, but it would consume a lot of spiritual spring water, which could be replenished slowly.

Like a witch doctor, she reached out and placed her hand above Kong Ling's wound, mentally drawing out a spiritual spring and quietly dripping it onto the wound.

Everyone around was on tenterhooks.

Few believed that this wicked female had awakened healing abilities, but she remained quiet and undisturbed.

Suddenly, a green light emanated from Shengxia's wrist, even more dazzling than the green light emitted by the witch doctor!

The crowd began to whisper among themselves.

"This can't be, my Beast God! What am I seeing?"

"She seems to really have healing abilities."

The chief was terrified, but then became extremely excited.

He was recently worried because the tribe's shaman was getting old and was no longer able to perform the treatments effectively.

The chief is so worried that he can't sleep because there's no successor yet.

A tribe without a shaman is destined to perish.

Clearly, the witch doctor and many others had also thought of this, and they all showed joy on their faces, looking at Sheng Xia with fervent eyes.

Their tribe has a new witch doctor! And he's so young!

At this moment, Shengxia felt that the spiritual spring was about to dry up and could not continue. She didn't know how long it would take to refill it, so she had to keep some for emergencies.

Suddenly, Kong Ling coughed and opened her eyes.

Fengdie, who was standing nearby, breathed a sigh of relief and leaned closer to him, carefully helping him up: "How are you feeling? Does your wound still hurt?"

Kong Ling was not unconscious, but she couldn't open her eyes.

He knew exactly what had just happened. He got up and looked at Sheng Xia with a complicated expression: "Thank you."

Sheng Xia raised an eyebrow and replied, "You're welcome, it's my pleasure."

After hesitating for a moment, he said, "Just take your time to recover; there won't be any aftereffects."

Fengdie watched Shengxia and Kong Ling talk from the side, remembering Kong Ling's confident assertion that he had met a female he liked, and that beast was Shengxia.

Later, for some reason, she changed her mind and agreed to marry me, but this incident became a thorn in my side, deeply embedded in my heart.

She was a proud beast, while Sheng Xia was a vicious female despised by everyone. What made her so special that she could so easily win the favor of the beast she loved?

Watching the two of them talk, she wished she could punch Sheng Xia away. She didn't even deserve it!

Shengxia knew nothing of any of this.

The chief's eyes gleamed as he looked at Sheng Xia thoughtfully.

The others also looked at Shengxia with great interest.

Feeling a bit scared under so many eyes, Shengxia hid behind Wolf King and kept her head down, remaining silent.

Wolf King looked at the chief who was rushing over excitedly, lowered his gaze slightly, and said slowly, "Chief, she is tired. We can talk about it later."

The chief was taken aback for a moment, then realized what he meant and smiled kindly: "Alright, alright, take Shengxia back to rest and take good care of her."

He looked around again and said, "Everyone disperse. The hunting party will come to the square to distribute the prey as usual."
