Chapter 6 Spatial Spirit Spring

Orange skillfully mounted the eagle's head, then turned and pulled Summer onto it.

A cold wind whistled along the way, and we arrived at the place Orange had mentioned in less than three minutes. Eagle's speed was indeed very fast.

Orange Fruit, pulling Summer along, led her upstream to a place with lush aquatic plants: "Here, come quick!"

Upon closer inspection in the height of summer, it was indeed an exceptionally lush lemongrass, prompting me to marvel at how ancient times had come to be, where plants were all gigantic.

She specially picked a lot of lemongrass, which she planned to dry and mix with other medicinal herbs to make insect-repelling sachets.

Moreover, the lemongrass grilled fish tasted absolutely amazing. Shengxia swallowed hard; she was hungry.

Seeing that it was still early in the middle of summer, my eyes lit up and I decided to go to the stream to see if there were any fish or shrimp.

The stream was crystal clear, and the fish seemed unaware of the danger, swimming leisurely to and fro.

In the height of summer, without any suitable tools, she decided to take a gamble and catch them directly with her hands. There were many fish in the water, and she set her sights on the kind that looked like a bass.

Sea bass has few bones and a delicious flavor, and when grilled with lemongrass...it smells amazing! I licked my lips excitedly.

Chengguo ran over, panting, and slapped the fish out of Shengxia's hand: "No...don't eat the spiky beast, people will die! One year during the snowy season, there wasn't enough food in the tribe, and my parents saved their food for me and ate the spiky beast themselves. They died and couldn't be saved. You're not allowed to eat it!"

In the sweltering summer heat, Sheng Xia reluctantly picked up the fish, feeling a pang of sympathy for the girl. She gently comforted her, "Don't worry, I'll remove the bones. I'll cook it for you when we get back; it tastes amazing!"

Orange wasn't very smart; it believed most of what Summer said with such conviction.

The tribe all knew that the Spiky Beasts could kill people, so no one usually caught them, which benefited Shengxia, who had no tools.

Orange called the eagle over to catch fish together.

In no time, they caught three big fish, each weighing about five or six pounds.

In hot weather, dead fish cannot be stored and must be cleaned and eaten immediately.

In this ancient era of extremely backward medical care, food poisoning meant certain death, and Shengxia was unwilling to take that risk.

"Did you bring a knife? I need to gut the fish and clean it."

"Eagle, go."

The orc's claws were indeed useful; he deftly gutted the fish and quickly cleaned it up.

Looking at the three clean, giant sea bass, Shengxia's eyes crinkled into a smile: "Chengguo, let's go back. I'll cook you something delicious! I guarantee you've never had anything like it before, it's so fragrant!"
