Despite her cold tone, her gaze towards Maosha was incredibly warm, making Shengxia's nose tingle with emotion.
Looking at the bloodstains on his torn animal hide, and then at Catsa's clean appearance, what else is there to be confused about?
That's how males in the beast world are: they protect their partners without hesitation, even at the cost of their own lives, rather than let their partners suffer even the slightest harm.
