"Don't overthink it! I'm perfectly healthy!" Sheng Xia gave her a reproachful look.
Everyone hadn't seen Shengxia in a long time, and they enthusiastically crowded around her, chattering away, which made Shengxia feel warm and happy.
This world really can't do without girls!
Yafatu Tribe Outskirts
Before your eyes lies a dense forest with lush foliage and blooming flowers, a scene of breathtaking beauty.
The females always prepare their picking spots in advance, so the paths are easy to walk on and the surrounding environment is clearly visible.
It has beautiful scenery and is absolutely safe.
Chengguo turned around and looked at Shengxia with a grin: "Today we're picking small green fruits. They can keep longer, so we can pick more!"
"I'm going to pick some flowers today," Mengmeng said with a smile.
Everyone came out to have fun because they were bored. The females only need to have fun and there are no harvesting tasks.
If I'm in a good mood, I can pick some food; whether I hand it in or not is up to me.
The main idea is to have fun and be carefree.
We took our time, strolling and playing along the way.
"Shengxia, give Xiaoqingguo a name later. The names you come up with are all very nice!" Lahua looked at Shengxia with admiration, her clear eyes shining.
“Yes, I also think the names you chose are all very nice~” Sif smiled brightly.
"Yeah, I think it sounds great too..." Annie said with an embarrassed smile.
"I was wrong before, I'm sorry, Shengxia." Her cheeks were flushed, and she lowered her head, unconsciously digging her toes into the ground.
Sheng Xia was stunned. She didn't expect Xingyin to be so friendly all of a sudden, and she didn't seem to be faking it.
Shengxia hummed in agreement, smiled, and said nothing more.
She was so extreme before, probably because she had just been rescued from stray animals and hadn't recovered from the shock.
The truth about midsummer has to be revealed.
Before long, in the height of summer, two trees could be seen not far away. They were about ten meters tall, with thick trunks, lush branches and leaves, and full of green fruit.
Green apple?
Sheng Xia's eyes lit up, and she quickened her pace.
"We're here, Little Green Fruit!" Orange Fruit rushed forward first.
When they arrived at the picking location, they weren't in a hurry; they picked one and held it in their hands to eat.
Upon closer inspection in the height of summer, it turned out they weren't apples, but rather green dates, some as big as a male's fist.
She was genuinely surprised to find that there were no thorns on the tree trunk! She had been pricked by thorns countless times when she picked dates as a child.
I picked one, wiped it, and took a bite. It was crisp and refreshing, with a rich fruity aroma. It wasn't as sweet as modern jujubes, but the texture was excellent.
I really like summer.
They chatted and picked fruit, having a great time.
In the height of summer, she noticed a few tiny jujube saplings growing huddled together in the bushes nearby. Her eyes lit up, and she walked over and squatted down.
What you wish for comes true!
So many saplings, they won't grow big if they're all crammed together, dig them up!
"Shengxia, what are you doing?" Chengguo squatted down next to her, her eyes wide with curiosity.
"These are saplings of the small green fruit tree. I'm digging one up to plant in the yard," Sheng Xia explained with a smile as she carefully dug.
Of course, they won't just be dug up and planted in the yard.
She decides where to plant it.
"Why plant them in the yard? You can just pick them when you want to eat them," Orange said, puzzled.
Shengxia chuckled: "It's more convenient in the yard, you can eat whenever you want."
"Wow! You're so amazing! How come I didn't think of that!" Chengguo exclaimed, as if she had just realized something.
With bright, sparkling eyes, she said in a light tone, "I'll go look for some saplings nearby too."
Before long, everyone knew that in the height of summer, they were going to dig up saplings and plant them in the yard.
They stopped picking fruit and, on a whim, joined the search for saplings.
"Shengxia is so clever! I never thought of that," Lahua chuckled.
"Hey~ You want to compete with summer?" Orange Fruit, who was digging up saplings, looked up and jokingly retorted to La Hua.
"Pfft, Guoguo is right." Sifu laughed so hard her shoulders trembled.
"Hmph, you guys are so mean!" La Hua chuckled.
The bodyguards wanted to help, but the females were happily digging and wouldn't let them do anything.
"Ugh! It stinks! You, come here and pull these flowers out!" Mengmeng gagged, her mature face scrunched up, and she spoke to her bodyguard in a soft, sweet voice.
Everyone curiously gathered around, wanting to know what flower could have made her vomit.
Sheng Xia initially ignored them, but upon hearing their repeated complaints, she couldn't suppress her curiosity and stepped forward.
Star anise?
Her eyes shone brightly, and she leaned closer with great joy, carefully examining him.
The branches are straight and long, with only one leaf at the end, resembling a lotus leaf, but upon closer inspection, the leaf has eight points.
Right beneath the leaves were several deep red flowers, and the stench of decay emanated from them, with flies buzzing around them.
It is indeed a Podocarpus macrocarpus, only a larger version.
This is a miraculous antidote!
As the saying goes, "If you know the eight-petaled lotus, you can sleep with a snake."
It used to be a commonly used traditional Chinese medicine.
After its rhizome was found to contain podophyllotoxin, it suddenly became popular and was eventually dug up and designated as a protected plant.
Podophyllum hexandrum is now a Class II protected plant in China; picking it is a serious crime! A serious crime!
But this is the world of beasts~
In the height of summer, she smiled so broadly that her eyes disappeared from her grin.
She said to the male who was about to pull up the flower, "This is a very rare medicinal herb. There is a long root system underground. Dig it up."
