The wolf king made a quick decision, discarding the bamboo pole and grabbing the other end of the rope.
Yang Yun and Qingmu quickly pulled Sheng Xia away, keeping a distance from the cave.
In the height of summer, his eyes lit up, and in an instant, his adrenaline surged to an incredible peak.
She lowered her voice and exclaimed excitedly, "There's fish!"
Shengxia didn't know how to fish, but she knew that once a fish was hooked, she couldn't speak and had to remain calm. She was so happy that she couldn't help herself.
It must be a big one!
She's so lucky!
As soon as she finished speaking, the rope suddenly sank down and became even tighter.
Wolf King gripped the rapidly sliding rope, his palms burning from the sudden friction of the vines. He exerted a sudden force, and the rope stopped sliding.
"Yang Yun is taking the cubs to heaven, and Qingmu is here to help." Wolf King's face remained calm as he methodically made the arrangements.
He could sense a large creature below, pulling the vines down with all its might. How could the wolf king, who was prepared, let it succeed?
He slowly pulled the object out of the water, and the thing that had bitten the hook gradually became visible.
Aoki stood nervously on the other side of the cave entrance, poised and ready to respond to any unexpected situation.
Soon, something in the water struggled to the surface, and amidst the splashing water, a strange fish came into view.
A mouthful of sharp teeth, gleaming coldly, were clamped tightly onto the hook, while its tail slapped angrily against the water.
The fish was half a meter long, with its head taking up three-quarters of that length. Even after surfacing, it wouldn't let go, clinging tightly to the hook as if determined to fight the vine to the death.
In the sweltering summer, my pupils dilated in shock. What was that thing?
Fish-headed monster!
Seeing Aoki standing there, forgetting to do anything, Shengxia shouted anxiously, "Aoki, hurry up and help!"
Aoki snapped out of his daze and immediately helped Wolf King get the fish out, pulling it a considerable distance away to make sure it wouldn't go back into the water before stopping.
Upon seeing the unidentified creature, Yang Yun's alert level instantly spiked, and he carried Sheng Xia to fly higher and farther.
"Oh... I can't see it anymore! Yangyun~ fly back quickly." Shengxia was watching intently when it suddenly flew away. She anxiously flapped Yangyun's wings gently.
At this moment, she couldn't contain her curiosity. How could there be such a ferocious beast in the shallow water? She hadn't seen it in the summer.
Did they swim here in winter?
“That fish looks fierce; it’s not safe to get too close.” Yang Yun contradicted Sheng Xia for the first time.
She found it somewhat novel, her eyes shining brightly as she stared intently at Yang Yun's face.
When taking off, he transformed into his beast form to make Sheng Xia more comfortable.
Looking at that furry face, she couldn't see anything. The face was so soft and cute that she couldn't resist rubbing it a few times.
"Hurry up, I want to see~" Shengxia said softly and coquettishly.
Sure enough, Yang Yun shuddered, and upon closer inspection, her furry ears were bright red.
Yang Yun flew a little closer with her, then turned back and affectionately nuzzled against Sheng Xia, stopping in a place where she could see her clearly without any danger.
Sheng Xia looked down and saw that the thing was particularly ferocious, its mouth opening and closing as it bit around wildly.
The fishhook was nowhere to be found, and one end of the vine was bitten to pieces.
The vines were specially woven by Yang Yun and were usually kept in the storeroom, specifically for binding things; they were particularly sturdy.
It lasted a long time without breaking and was very resistant to grass, yet it got chewed up like this!
Aoki frowned slightly and clenched his fist, slamming it down.
The fish thrashed about twice, then stopped moving completely. He asked loudly, "What is this thing? Can I eat it?"
From the angle of his head in the height of summer, one couldn't see his expression, only that his knuckles were white from straining, and the veins on the back of his wheat-colored hands were bulging.
Her heart skipped a beat as she watched his blond hair flutter in the wind, and she felt a strange sense of oppression.
Both lustful and wild!
At this moment, Yang Yun landed with Sheng Xia.
She immediately slid down and moved closer.
Yang Yun followed closely behind. Seeing that Wolf King was protecting Sheng Xia, he felt relieved and squatted down on the spot: "Qing Mu, step aside, I'll kill him."
This was the first time he had ever seen this kind of fish. He wondered if it would taste good when cooked.
He had just taken out his bone knife when Aoki snatched the fish away, transformed his hand into a beast-like form, and used his sharp nails to slice open the fish's belly: "I'm quick, I'll do it."
Yang Yun pursed her lips, smiled helplessly, and simply joined him in examining it: "Huh? What is this? Is it large intestine?"
Aoki pouted and rolled her eyes at him: "It's so short, it must be the stomach!"
Yang Yun's peach blossom eyes narrowed slightly: "No, this one, this round one is the stomach..."
Aoki reached out to stop Yang Yun: "Hey, hey, don't break it. Put the bone knife away, put it away."
Yang Yun's clear, cold voice was slightly chilly: "Are you sure you're okay? Your heart has been slashed open by your claws. What if it's poisoned?"
Sheng Xia's lips twitched. One was as fair as jade, the other wild and unruly. They squatted together, arguing fiercely over a fish.
This looks like forensic scientists are conducting an autopsy!
How come she never noticed they had this hobby before? Hmm, it's quite unique and refreshing!
Soon, the two anatomists stopped.
Upon closer inspection in the height of summer, the strange fish was found to be empty inside, with its gills removed and several neat cuts on its head.
They are all experts at dissection, and can accurately remove the internal organs of strange fish they have never seen before.
Aoki stood up, carried the fish to the cave entrance to clean it, and grinned from ear to ear: "There's quite a lot of meat on the head, and no bones, it should taste delicious!"
Wolf King lowered his eyes and saw that Sheng Xia was looking at the fish with curiosity. Her bright almond eyes were wide open, and the corners of her lips were upturned to reveal her white teeth.
Like a playful little cub.
He smiled knowingly and said in a clear, gentle voice, "Let's grill it here and eat it."
