Chapter 115 Firefly Orc

Chapter 115 Firefly Orc

She thought to herself that if they continued at the original speed, these sheep orcs would really get lost in this vast road and would not be found.

And Ayang also turned into a cute little lamb, running with his furry body bouncing back and forth, following closely beside his father.

He bleated from time to time, and the childish cry echoed in the air.

Xia Yueke couldn't help but raise the corners of her mouth slightly, and almost laughed out loud.

Her fair little hand gently tugged at the corner of Qian Jingyao's clothes, and her voice was filled with uncontrollable joy:

"Yaoyao, look at Ayang, it's so funny!"

Qian Jingyao looked back and chuckled.

"Okay, stop laughing and sit still. Don't fall down!"

Xia Yueke nodded and sat down obediently.

The few of them moved forward slowly. The road was still muddy. The surrounding trees looked even greener after being washed by the rain. Crystal water droplets hung on the leaves, sparkling in the faint light.

The ground under my feet was wet, and every step I took left a deep footprint, splashing some mud and water.

The air was filled with the scent of damp earth and the fragrance of grass and trees, and occasionally one could hear the sound of raindrops sliding down leaves and dripping into small puddles.

The sky gradually darkened, the dark clouds slowly dispersed, and a few rays of moonlight struggled to penetrate the clouds and sprinkled on the road ahead.

When it was completely dark, Qian Jingyao looked at the surrounding mountains and said:

"Let's find a place to rest first. It's not safe to travel at night."

Qian Jingyao led everyone forward for a while in the mountains and forests. The surroundings were so quiet that only the sound of their footsteps on the mud could be heard. Finally, they found a hidden cave.

The entrance of the cave is partially covered by vines and bushes, and it is difficult to find without careful observation.

He carefully pushed aside the rain-soaked branches and leaves and walked into the cave first to check.

The cave was relatively dry, and the ground was covered with a thick layer of fallen leaves, which rustled when stepped on.

Qian Jingyao nodded with satisfaction, turned around and invited the sheep beastmen and Xia Yueke to come in.

Xia Yueke skipped into the cave, looking around curiously.

Ayang ran in front with brisk steps. After entering the cave, he immediately turned into a human form. He was playing with a piece of hay in his hand, looking like a handsome little boy.

Xia Yueke was immediately attracted and rushed to Ayang's side. After squatting down, she rubbed Ayang's head with both hands, muttering:

"Oh, Ayang, you are so cute, hehe!"

Ayang pouted and protested, "Stop touching me. You've messed up my hair."

Xia Yueke winked mischievously and gently tugged at the corner of his clothes:

"Ayang, are you just thinking about eating? Why are you holding this little grass all the time?"

Ayang immediately raised his head, his face flushed red, and argued loudly:

"No! I just have an itchy tooth."

Xia Yueke stroked her chin and looked at Ayang. "Are you grinding your teeth? Didn't you just transform not long ago?"

Ayang immediately nodded and agreed, "Yeah! I don't really like to eat!"

Qian Jingyao found a suitable place in the cave and started to make a fire.

He skillfully built a simple stove and lit the dry branches with a flint. The flames gradually rose and illuminated the stone walls of the cave.

Xia Yueke sat on a stone bench that Qingyan took out from the space.

Although the other sheep orcs were shocked, they didn't ask anything.

Xia Yuke stood aside, watching Qian Jingyao's busy figure, his legs swinging restlessly.

Soon, the meat started to sizzle on the fire, and the aroma of meat gradually spread. Qian Jingyao took out a small pot and cooked rice porridge.

After the barbecue was done, everyone sat in a circle. Xia Yuke held the bowl of steaming rice porridge handed to her by Qian Jingyao and blew on it gently.

Ayang's father spoke first, his voice gentle and kind:

"Hello, my name is Mu Yan. I'm A Yang's father beast, and I'm responsible for protecting the tribe's food."

Then, the other sheep beastmen were introduced one by one.

At this moment, Xia Yueke's eyes lit up, and he asked excitedly to a sheep beastman:

"You said you're good at finding herbs. Are there any herbs that can make Ayang smarter if eaten?"

As soon as the words came out, everyone laughed.

A Yang snorted in dissatisfaction and crossed his arms:

"I'm smart enough to do this. I don't need herbs."

Xia Yueke smiled and pinched Ayang's cheek:

"Oh, Ayang, I was just kidding. You are the smartest little lamb."

Ayang's face felt soft, and after Xia Yueke pinched it, she finally understood why Wu Ya liked to pinch her face.

Her face is fleshier than Ayang's, and the touch must be more addictive.

Xia Yueke was comparing secretly when Ayang suddenly blushed and said angrily:

"If you pinch me like that again, I won't play with you anymore."

Xia Yueke was not the type to treat a cub like that. She pouted and reluctantly let go.

Suddenly, Qingyan, who was sitting nearby, stood up and stared intently at the cave entrance. His ears pricked up slightly, and his nostrils twitched slightly, as if catching the slightest strange scent in the air.

Seeing this, Qian Jingyao immediately became alert, "What's wrong, Qingyan?"

Qingyan's scarlet eyes flashed, and he lowered his voice and said:

"There are orcs outside!"

When Xia Yuke heard it, she immediately hid beside Qian Jingyao and grabbed Qian Jingyao's animal skin tightly.

She prayed silently in her heart, not wanting any wild beasts or bad orcs to appear and scatter them.

Qian Jingyao touched Xia Yueke's head soothingly, but his eyes were still staring coldly at the cave entrance.

The other sheep orcs also looked outside the cave, with a hint of nervousness in their eyes. Some of them unconsciously moved closer to their cubs and protected them behind them.

Qian Jingyao said loudly:

"What's the purpose of those people outside? Why are they wandering around here?"

As soon as he finished speaking, a few faint lights flickered at the entrance of the cave, and then four or five firefly orcs slowly appeared.

They were only as tall as an ordinary person's waist, and the translucent wings behind them flapped gently, casting a soft fluorescent light, illuminating the entrance of the cave like a dream.

The leading Firefly Orc took a few steps forward, bowed politely, and said:

"We are Firefly Orcs passing through here. My name is Xingmang, and these are my companions. We were collecting dew here, but unexpectedly encountered another torrential rainstorm tonight. Now that we see the fire here, we've come to ask if we can stay in this cave for one night. We mean no harm, and our glow can still illuminate some corners for you."

Xia Yueke looked at them, eyes full of shock. This, this, this... are Firefly Orcs!!!
