Chapter 174 Completed
Luo Cihe smiled lightly, with a barely perceptible cunning in his smile.
He looked Xia Yueke up and down, his eyes lingering on her for a moment, and said in a teasing voice:
"Xiao Yueke, you're training really fast. You've become a young beast so quickly. I thought you were going to stay in the Huiqi class this time! I'm usually very busy, okay? Didn't I tell you that my other identity is a Beast City Wizard?"
Xia Yueke could only nod helplessly.
Luo Cihe looked at Qing Yan, then at Qian Jingyao and Xia Yueke, and said in a low and hoarse voice:
"Are you here for the purpose of carving?"
Xia Yueke's eyes widened in surprise and blurted out, "How did you know?"
Luo Cihe sneered, his laughter full of indifference to such common questions:
"Eight out of ten orcs who come to me want to carve their shapes. It's so annoying."
Xia Yueke laughed awkwardly and said quickly:
"Great Witch, we won't waste any time, it will be done soon!"
Luo Cihe nodded slightly, stepped aside to make way, and said:
"Come in!"
When Qian Jingyao heard the conversation between Xia Yueke and Luo Cihe, a hint of surprise flashed in his originally calm eyes.
He narrowed his eyes slightly and looked at Luo Cihe calmly, secretly thinking about the relationship between Xia Yueke and this wizard with multiple identities.
He subconsciously moved closer to Xia Yueke, raising his arms slightly as if he wanted to protect her behind him, but considering the occasion, he lowered his arm only halfway through the action. However, his vigilant posture became more and more obvious, like a cheetah guarding its territory, ready to deal with possible threats at any time.
Qing Yan looked at Xia Yueke blankly, then at Luo Cihe, scratched his head, and his furry ears twitched unconsciously.
His eyes were full of doubts, his mouth slightly opened, and he was about to ask a question, but he felt that the atmosphere was a little subtle at the moment, so he swallowed the words back.
However, there was not much suspicion in his expression; he was simply curious about this sudden situation.
In his mind, as long as Xia Yue was safe, nothing else seemed so important.
But he still couldn't help but quietly approach Xia Yueke, using his huge body to create a little distance between her and Luo Cihe.
Luo Cihe took it all in, and a meaningful smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, as if he found their reactions quite interesting.
A hint of imperceptible teasing flashed across his deep eyes, but was quickly covered up by the mysterious depth.
He gently raised his hand and elegantly brushed the hair that fell on his shoulders. His movements were neither hurried nor slow, as if the tense atmosphere around him had nothing to do with him.
"Don't be so nervous. Xiaoyue and I only have a simple relationship. I taught her the power of beasts. Since you are here today to carve the shape, I will do my best."
Luo Cihe's voice was low and calm, yet carried an unquestionable majesty, echoing in the quiet wooden house, trying to dispel the heavy atmosphere condensed by suspicion and vigilance.
The room was dimly lit, with all kinds of strange bottles and jars placed around, filled with unknown liquids and herbs, and some animal bones hanging on the wall.
Luo Cihe gestured to Xia Yueke to stand on a circular formation in the center of the room, then turned and walked towards a huge stone platform engraved with complex patterns.
Qing Yan walked to Luo Ci He and followed Luo Ci He's instructions. He closed his eyes, concentrated his energy, and slowly drew out his beast-like power.
When Qingyan's beast form appeared, Luo Cihe saw it, raised his eyebrows slightly, and a slightly sarcastic arc appeared at the corner of his mouth. He looked at Xia Yueke teasingly.
"Xiao Yueke, what kind of beastman partner did you find? Really..."
He deliberately dragged out his tone, his eyes full of amusement, and shook his head slightly, as if expressing great doubt and regret for Xia Yueke's choice.
Upon hearing this, Qingyan's red eyes, once filled with excitement, instantly filled with anger, like a burning flame. His ears were pressed tightly against his head, and the hair on his neck stood up in excitement, like steel needles.
"You, you, how can you say that!"
Qing Yan's voice was trembling slightly, showing both the anger after being humiliated and the eagerness to maintain his image in Xia Yueke's heart.
His fists were clenched at his sides, and the muscles in his arms were tense, as if he was about to rush up to argue with Luo Cihe in the next second. His whole body was trembling slightly with anger, and his breathing became rapid and heavy. He looked like a beast that had been provoked to the extreme, ready to attack at any time to defend his dignity.
Seeing this, Xia Yue hurriedly took a step forward and stood in front of Qing Yan. She raised her head slightly and glared at Luo Cihe fiercely, with obvious dissatisfaction and warning in her eyes, "Luo Cihe, don't talk nonsense!"
Then, she turned to face Qing Yan, gently placed her hands on Qing Yan's tense arms, and said softly:
"Qingyan, ignore him. In my heart, your beast form is unique and the best."
Her voice was soft but firm, and she looked sincerely into Qingyan's eyes, trying to calm him down with her comfort.
Qing Yan looked at Luo Cihe angrily, but when he saw Xia Yueke comforting him so gently, he gave up and stood back in his seat.
Luo Cihe said no more and started the ceremony.
This time was different from what Xia Yueke had expected. It was not engraved directly on the body like last time. Instead, Luo Cihe kept muttering to himself, and no one knew what he was doing.
Qian Jingyao stood aside, looking at them quietly, his eyes never leaving Xia Yueke, with a hint of worry in his eyes.
As the voice of Luo Cihe's spell grew louder, the light became more intense.
Suddenly, the light rushed towards Xia Yueke like lightning and instantly penetrated her body.
Xia Yueke only felt a slight tingling sensation, and then a warm current flowed through her body.
The outline of the Green Flame beast gradually emerged on the skin of her left hand, faint at first, then becoming clearer and clearer. The lifelike appearance seemed as if the Green Flame beast had come alive on her body.
Qing Yan opened his eyes and saw the carving on Xia Yueke's body. He ran over excitedly:
"Yes, I alas!"
Now the task was finally accomplished. Qing Yan ran out with Xia Yuke in his arms. When he passed by Luo Cihe, he stuck out his tongue, as if to provoke him.
Qian Jingyao threw down an orange beast core and followed closely behind.
Luo Cihe looked at the few people speechlessly as they almost broke his wooden door, and then ran away like a gust of wind.
Here, Xia Yueke and others returned to their home.
Qing Yan now looked at the beast shape on Xia Yueke's left hand and smiled foolishly every day.
The cold season passed in the blink of an eye.
The ice and snow melted, all things revived, and it was time for classes to start at the cub school again.
