Chapter 21: Witch Doctor Healing

Chapter 21: Witch Doctor Healing

Qian Jingyao lowered his head and what caught his eye was Xia Yueke staring at the three little guys' receding backs, with a hint of attachment in his eyes, and he didn't look away for a long time.

Seeing this, Qian Jingyao thought she was scared because the familiar people were not there, so he quickly reached out and gently rubbed her furry little fox head, and said in an especially gentle tone:

"Coco? We've met before, do you remember?"

Qian Jingyao knew that it had been a month since they last met, and the little guy might have no memory of them.

But for some reason, he still had a glimmer of hope in his heart, hoping that this cute little female cub would recognize him.

Qian Jingyao's actions completely blocked Xia Yueke's vision, so she had no choice but to look at Qian Jingyao.

Hearing Qian Jingyao's question, Xia Yuke nodded slightly, with a very small movement, because she had an injury on her head and was afraid of pulling the wound if she exerted a little force. She didn't want to experience that kind of pain again.

When Qian Jingyao saw her nod, a light flashed in his eyes.

The kid actually still remembers him!

Qian Jingyao walked towards the cave where the witch doctor was and asked:

"Keke, I'm Qian Jingyao, do you remember my name?"

Xia Yue didn't expect this guy to be so nagging and kept asking questions. She was in pain and tired now, and had no strength to deal with it. She could only helplessly howl twice as an answer.

She secretly complained in her heart: What's wrong with this man? Why does he have so many questions?

Qian Jingyao keenly noticed that the little guy was in low spirits, his eyes were a little blurry, and his little head was drooping weakly.

His heart tightened and he immediately quickened his pace, striding towards the witch doctor's cave.

Xia Yueke forced himself to pay attention and observe the surrounding environment.

There are still lush trees here, with verdant branches and leaves intertwined. The place where their tribe is located seems to be a vast mountain forest. The caves are scattered in it in an orderly manner. It seems that they were dug out by the orcs with their own strength.

Most caves are located halfway up the mountain, but Qian Jingyao is heading towards the edge of the tribe.

Wuya's cave is also on the edge, but it is located in the opposite direction of the witch doctor's cave.

The more Xia Yueke looked, the more unfamiliar everything around her seemed to her. She stretched her head hard, wanting to take in more of the scenery she had never seen before.

Qian Jingyao seemed to have the ability to read minds. He immediately saw through her intentions and quickly said softly:

"Keke, when your wound is healed, I'll take you to see the tribe. You need to rest well now. If you move around and tear the wound, it will be troublesome..."

Xia Yueke knew in her heart that now was not the time to satisfy her curiosity, so she slowly retracted her head and lay quietly in Qian Jingyao's arms.

After a while, Qian Jingyao stopped.

Xia Yueke knew that they had arrived at the witch doctor's cave, and she immediately raised her head and looked around excitedly.

I saw that this cave was extremely wide. Looking from the entrance, it seemed to be twice as big as the Wuya Cave.

There are a lot of dried things hanging around the cave. When you look closer, they seem to be various herbs, and the air is filled with a faint medicinal fragrance.

Qian Jingyao walked in slowly holding Xia Yueke, and a smell mixed with the fragrance of herbs and fireworks hit their faces.

What caught the eye was an old witch doctor sitting upright on a stone platform with a focused expression. His eyes were fixed on the clay pot in front of him that was simmering on a low fire. The medicine in the pot was gurgling and steaming.

There was an orc next to him, busy sorting the herbs. His rough but flexible fingers manipulated them skillfully, and the herbs were neatly arranged into categories in his hands.

Qian Jingyao walked in quickly, his voice urgent:

"Batu, a female cub is injured, come and take a look!"

Upon hearing this, the old witch doctor looked up at Qian Jingyao holding the injured Xia Yueke. He frowned slightly and waved at Qian Jingyao, indicating that he should put the little fox on the soft animal skin mat beside him.

Qian Jingyao did as he was told carefully and very gently, as if he was afraid of hurting Xia Yueke.

The witch doctor slowly stood up and first looked at Xia Yueke's wound.

Then he asked, "Is this an injury from a fall?"

Qian Jingyao nodded, and the old witch doctor nodded and walked to the stone platform where the herbs were placed.

His wrinkled hands rummaged through the pile of herbs beside him and picked out a few herbs with a special smell.

He first placed one of the herbs in a stone mortar and slowly crushed it with a stone pestle, and green juice gradually seeped out.

He then picked up another herb, crushed it lightly with his fingers, and sprinkled it on the mashed herbs, mixing them into a paste.

The old witch doctor began to carefully apply the herbal paste on Xia Yueke's wounds. Every time he touched a wound, Xia Yueke couldn't help but tremble slightly and let out a low whimper in his throat.

Her big round eyes were filled with tears.

Xia Yueke felt extremely aggrieved. The wound didn't hurt much originally, but after applying the herbal remedy, it felt cool but also a little painful.

She kept complaining in her heart:

"What kind of strange herb is this? Why is it even more uncomfortable than when I was injured? I shouldn't have come here if I had known, humph!"

Qian Jingyao felt so distressed watching from the side that his brows were furrowed, his fists clenched unconsciously, and his eyes never left Xia Yueke.

He comforted her softly, "Don't be afraid, Keke, it will be fine in a while."

The old witch doctor also comforted:

"Little guy, the pain will go away after the medicine wears off, just wait a little longer..."

Xia Yueke gradually calmed down.

After applying the paste to the wound, he took a clean leaf from the shelf beside him, gently covered it on the herbal paste, and then gently wrapped it with a thin vine to secure it.

Next, the witch doctor took a small bunch of dry grass, placed it in a stone bowl and lit it.

The smoke produced by the burning hay had a strange fragrance. He gently fanned the smoke with his hands, letting it envelope Xia Yueke.

The orc who was sorting herbs nearby also came over and handed over a bowl of warm water.

The witch doctor took the water and whispered to Qian Jingyao:

"Let this little guy drink some, it will relieve the pain."

Qian Jingyao squatted down slightly, held the bowl in his hand, then gently picked up Xia Yueke with his other hand, letting her body half lean on his arm.

He brought the bowl close to Xia Yueke's mouth and tilted it slightly.

Xia Yueke stuck out her pink little tongue and tentatively licked the water on the edge of the bowl.

After finding the water temperature was right, she began to lick the water in small sips, her little tongue flashing quickly, her throat moving slightly, and making a subtle swallowing sound.
