Chapter 28 Apology
And that creepy ghostly voice was actually a careful disguise by Chu Qingchen.
The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, revealing a sly smile, his eyes gleaming with the light of a successful prank, and he thought to himself:
"Humph, I have to give them a lasting impression."
After doing all this, Chu Qingchen crouched down and tiptoed back to the cave.
As soon as he entered the cave, he started shouting excitedly, his eyes wide open, and gesticulating with his hands:
"Wuya, Qiuxing, you didn't see it! Those cubs were so scared that they were pissing their shit out of their wits. It was so funny."
Wu Ya frowned, gave him a fierce look, and said unhappily with a pout:
"You're the only one who can do this. Don't mess it up."
Chu Qingchen, however, seemed not to have heard Wu Ya's warning. He still looked smug and said with a beaming expression:
"Let me tell you, that scene was hilarious. One little one collapsed on the ground like a puddle of mud, and a few others were huddled together, trembling with fear in their eyes. Hahahaha."
As he spoke, he held his stomach and laughed so hard that he fell over.
Every golden hair on Qiu Xing's majestic lion face seemed to be cheering, and at this moment he was filled with uncontrollable joy.
His thick mane swayed as his body trembled slightly.
His large, copper-bell-like eyes sparkled with excitement, and his mouth curled up, revealing his sharp fangs. However, there was a hint of nervousness in his words:
"No one has discovered it!"
Chu Qingchen nodded vigorously, his eyes full of certainty, and patted his chest and said:
"Don't worry, you're still not confident in my work? I've carefully observed, and there's not a single orc around!"
Upon hearing this, Wu Ya and Qiu Xing's tense nerves finally relaxed.
Wu Ya took a long breath and said softly:
"Okay, let's continue to rest. Don't wake up those kids, or they'll be in big trouble."
In the cave, the moss in the corner exudes a faint earthy scent, which mixes with the fresh grass and wood fragrance wafting in from outside the cave.
The three of them quietly lay back down in their respective seats. The hay made a slight rustling sound, and soon, the sound of even breathing could be heard in the cave.
The next morning, the sunlight had not yet completely penetrated the lush branches and leaves outside the cave, and only some mottled light and shadows were cast on the cave wall.
The cave was quiet and the three people were still immersed in their sleep. Suddenly, there was a rapid sound of knocking on the animal skin curtain.
Wu Ya was sleeping soundly. In her dream, she was running on a grassland full of blooming flowers, chasing a colorful flying bird.
But this sudden sound pulled her out of her sweet dream. She frowned slightly, her eyes full of confusion and displeasure at being disturbed, and she muttered:
"Who is it this early in the morning?"
As he spoke, he reluctantly crawled out of the warm animal skin blanket, reached out and grabbed the animal skin clothes beside him, and quickly put them on.
Chu Qingchen and Qiu Xing were light sleepers to begin with, and when they heard the sound, they woke up instantly, transformed into human form, tidied their clothes neatly, and walked towards the cave entrance, ready to welcome the uninvited guest.
It is said to be a cave entrance, but in fact it is just a thick animal skin curtain with unique tribal patterns on it. It has been exposed to wind and sun, and the color is slightly mottled.
On the small bed on the side of the cave, Xia Yueke was also awakened by the annoying sound.
She twisted her little body in the animal skin blanket and subconsciously covered her ears with her furry little paws, trying to block out the annoying noise, but the sound seemed to have eyes and went straight into her ears.
She sighed helplessly and complained in her heart:
It turns out that having too sensitive ears can also be a problem.
After a while, she slowly opened her blue eyes and blinked, but there was still sleepiness in her eyes.
She twisted her small body and looked towards the cave, her heart full of curiosity, wanting to see who was disturbing her sleep so early in the morning.
At this moment, the animal skin curtain was lifted, and the sunlight suddenly poured into the cave, which was a bit dazzling.
Four or five orcs appeared at the door, bringing with them a few cubs.
Wu Ya, Chu Qingchen, and Qiu Xing's gazes were instantly drawn to the scene. Their eyes met in mid-air, each filled with surprise and confusion. They exchanged glances, their gazes seemingly asking each other: What's going on?
Wu Ya frowned slightly, thinking to herself:
Why did these guys suddenly appear here? They bullied Xia Yueke yesterday, and today they came to my house with such brazenness. Do they have other intentions?
Qiu Xing narrowed his eyes slightly, with a scrutinizing look in his eyes.
He was wondering, could it be that they came to call for punishment because of what happened yesterday?
But it doesn't look like it, so what are they doing?
This sudden situation made him feel a little uneasy, and he subconsciously clenched his fists, ready to deal with any possible emergencies.
Standing in the front was Lanru, the mother beastman with the largest cub. Next to her stood one of her beastmen. Both of them were holding some things in their hands, including fresh and plump fruits and dried meat with an enticing aroma.
Lan Ru looked at Wu Ya, her face full of guilt. She lowered her head slightly and said a little embarrassedly:
"Wuya, I'm sorry. Yesterday, those little cubs were ignorant and bullied your female cub. I've already taught them a lesson today! Look, they all know they were wrong now, and they definitely won't dare to do it again..."
Everyone's eyes turned to the young orcs.
They all hung their heads, stared at the ground, and looked very obedient, like eggplants hit by frost, completely devoid of the arrogance they had yesterday.
Lan Ru gently pushed the kid standing in the front, looked at him sternly, and scolded in a low voice:
"What are you still standing there for? Apologize to Coco!"
The little boy trembled slightly, slowly raised his head, his eyes full of fear, looked at Xia Yueke, and stammered:
"Yes...I'm sorry, Coco, we were wrong. We will never bully you again."
The other kids also murmured in agreement: "Sorry..."
Lan Ru looked at Wu Ya with a serious expression and a hint of awe.
"Wuya, you know what? These brats have been acting strange since they came back yesterday, like they've lost their souls. I knew they must have done something bad."
This morning, when their Beast Father and I gave them a good lesson, they said they were frightened by the Beast God's majesty. I think, after being taught by the Beast God, they really won't dare make that mistake again."
When Lan Ru said these words, Chu Qingchen felt a little guilty for some reason.
