Chapter 37 The evil beast is a terrifying existence

Immediately afterwards, Xia Yueke was fully convinced that she would be sitting on Qian Jingyao's back. She trotted to Qian Jingyao excitedly, stretched out her little paws and tightly grasped the soft and fluffy fur at his feet, preparing to climb up with all her strength.

But unexpectedly, the next second, she felt a sudden force in her neck, followed by a sour feeling.

It turned out that Qian Jingyao was holding her gently with his mouth.

Before Xia Yuke could react, Qian Jingyao had already spread out his four hooves and galloped out of the tribe.

Xia Yueke was frightened at first. After she came to her senses, she subconsciously tried to break free. However, as soon as she struggled, she found that her little paws were soft and uncontrollable as if they were under a spell.

She wanted to twist her body, but found that this position made her unable to exert any strength at all, and she could only helplessly be held in Qian Jingyao's mouth.

She shook her head a little depressed. Fortunately, the place where Qian Jingyao was biting didn't hurt. It was just a strange feeling of being tightly bound.

If it hurt her, she would never accept going out in such a "disgraceful" way.

Her big round eyes rolled around as she watched the scenery around her constantly passing by. She could only silently hope to reach the hunting spot as soon as possible so that she could get rid of this somewhat awkward posture.

They left the cave and ran towards the forest outside the tribe.

Qian Jingyao ran as fast as lightning, his four hooves hardly touching the ground, leaving only a trail of blurry afterimages on the ground.

Xia Yueke felt the wind whistling past her ears, her eyes wide open, looking curiously at the scenery flashing by around her.

Qian Jingyao carried Xia Yueke in his mouth and trotted out of the tribe. When the tribesmen in the tribe saw their strange appearance, they couldn't help but look over.

They passed through the square in the center of the tribe, which was surrounded by huge stones. Surrounding it were stone houses scattered in an orderly manner. Smoke rose from the chimneys, mixed with the aroma of food.

Gradually, a lush forest appeared in front of us. The trees were tall and dense, almost blocking out the sky, with only a few rays of sunlight occasionally shining through the gaps.

Qian Jingyao gently put Xia Yueke down and then transformed into a human form.

He squatted down, looking at Xia Yueke at eye level, pointed his slender finger at the mysterious forest, and said seriously:

"Coco, we live in the southern part of the continent. This forest is called the Misty Forest. There are many hidden dangers and ferocious beasts in it."

"So, we fox beastmen usually only hunt on the edge of the forest."

"Keke, you must remember, never run around here again, and never go in alone. If you get lost, I'll be worried to death, and I might never find you again in there."

His voice is so gentle and warm that people can't help but want to keep listening.

Xia Yueke stared at the pitch-black forest with eyes wide open, and nodded quickly with her little head, whimpering, as if assuring Qian Jingyao that she would be obedient.

Qian Jingyao looked at her cute appearance, the corners of his mouth slightly raised, revealing a warm smile.

He stood up again and pointed in another direction.

"Go further from there, cross two hills, and you'll reach the seaside. It's so beautiful, the water is so blue, just like the color of your eyes!"

"During the hot season, the orcs of the tribe usually go there to exchange for salt or to catch special sea fish and shellfish. The shells of those shellfish are colorful, just as beautiful as the pebbles you play with. When you grow up a little more, I can take you to the beach to play."

There was a glint of excitement in Xia Yueke's eyes. She stretched out her little paws and pulled Qian Jingyao's clothes, crying "Ao Ao", as if urging him to take her to the beach quickly.

Qian Jingyao smiled and patted her head. "Not yet. When you're stronger, we'll go. Now, let's hunt here first. Once you're full, you'll have the strength to grow."

After saying that, he carried Xia Yueke along the edge of the forest and began to look for traces of prey.

Before approaching the forest, Qian Jingyao said again:

"By the way, there are evil beasts in the forest. They eat orcs! Kill them if you can! So Coco, you must be careful!"

Qian Jingyao decided to tell Xia Yuke about the most terrifying creature in the forest. He had to eliminate the possibility of her coming to the Misty Forest to play alone!

Xia Yuke heard the name of the evil beast again and couldn't help but become curious. She touched Qian Jingyao with her claws, wanting to ask him what this thing was!

Qian Jingyao saw what the little fellow meant and quickly lowered his head and said:

"These evil beasts exist just like orcs, but they seem to be creatures that haven't evolved successfully. Out of jealousy, they kill or eat orcs when they see them to vent their hatred. Furthermore, they're all incredibly ugly!"

"If Coco saw it, she would be scared!"

Xia Yueke became even more curious. She was not even afraid of Sadako, so she really didn't think a vicious beast would scare her!

After Qian Jingyao said this, he stopped talking because they had already entered the forest.

Qian Jingyao slowed down, his steps became light and cautious, and every step was silent.

He stopped from time to time, raised his nose to sniff the scent of prey in the air, and his ice-blue eyes observed his surroundings vigilantly.

Xia Yueke also held her breath, not daring to make a sound. She could feel the tense atmosphere around her. This novel experience made her both excited and nervous.

Suddenly, Qian Jingyao's ears, like sensitive radars, moved slightly, and his deep and sharp eyes instantly locked onto the target.

Xia Yueke also looked in the direction he was looking. About five hundred meters away, there was a huge prey.

At first glance, the creature looked like a deer, but something was not right because its size was as huge as a hippopotamus!

It was leisurely lowering its head and nibbling on the fresh and juicy green grass on the ground.

It is surrounded by lush grasslands, dotted with unknown wild flowers, which are colorful.

There was a towering tree next to it. The trunk of the tree was so thick that it required several people to hug it. It just happened to partially block the huge "deer". It seemed that it was completely unaware of the movement here.

Xia Yue thought that Qian Jingyao would put her down gently as usual, and then quickly transform into a majestic beast and pounce on the prey like an arrow.
