Chapter 432 Orc Market Survival Guide (3)

Chapter 432 Orc Market Survival Guide (3)

The dark black note had strange patterns outlined by pale lines around it. The eye-catching "Fifty" in the center looked like it was written in blood, with a pungent fishy smell.

Looking at the strange portrait printed on it, his eyes were empty and lifeless, and his eye sockets were sunken, like two endless black holes, staring at her, as if sucking her soul in.

Xia Yueke's breathing suddenly became rapid, and her hands shook violently and uncontrollably, as if what she was holding in her hands were not two banknotes, but a death warrant from hell.

"Hello."

Bai Jinglan raised the corner of his mouth slightly and looked at Xia Yueke with a smile that was not a smile, and there was a hint of teasing in that smile.

He stretched out his hand and casually patted Xia Yueke on the shoulder, as if it was just an ordinary action.

However, this seemingly unintentional action made Xia Yueke tremble violently as if he had been electrocuted.

Her body tensed up instantly, and she quickly waved away Bai Jinglan's hand, while uttering a question with a hint of anger:

"What are you doing?"

Bai Jinglan obviously didn't expect Xia Yueke to have such a violent reaction. He was stunned for a moment, and then burst into laughter.

He took a half step back, put his hands lazily in his trouser pockets, tilted his body slightly, and tilted his head to one side. He stared at Xia Yueke with a playful look and said slowly:

"My five and one hundred yuan are ghost money, what about yours?"

Xia Yueke's heartbeat had not yet fully returned to normal. Her breathing was a little rapid, and her chest rose and fell with her breathing.

Hearing Bai Jinglan's question, she blurted out without thinking: "Mine are twenty and fifty yuan."

Bai Jinglan frowned slightly, as if he was somewhat dissatisfied with the answer.

He tutted his words lightly, a thoughtful look on his face, but that thoughtful expression only lasted for a moment and was soon replaced by his nonchalant look.

"Looks like I was wrong. I thought everyone's real and counterfeit coins were the same. Tsk, if they weren't, if there was something in the mall and they didn't have enough money, maybe some desperate players would just rob me. That would be a real show."

A wicked smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. There was no worry about potential danger in that smile, but instead there was a hint of anticipation for excitement.

After hearing this, Xia Yueke realized these problems. Yes, if the ghost money was real, then she would only have 70 yuan and Bai Jinglan would have 105 yuan. If it was fake, then she would have 115 yuan and Bai Jinglan would have 80 yuan.

"Brother Bai, what do you think, is the ghost money real? Or is the real banknote real?"

Xia Yueke's face was full of anxiety as she looked up at Bai Jinglan.

When Bai Jinglan heard this, he couldn't help but laugh out loud, his laughter was full of sarcasm:

"Xia Dadan, you ask me, but who should I ask? Just take it one step at a time. Don't be so timid, afraid of this and that. You're not like you who was trying to be brave last time."

As he spoke, he raised his hand and casually smoothed his hair, revealing his smooth forehead. He looked so ruffian-like, as if the sky falling had nothing to do with him.

Xia Yueke still felt uneasy. She put the banknotes back into her pocket, her fingers subconsciously groping around, feeling hesitant.

Brother Bai looked at her from the side and started teasing her again. He deliberately moved closer to Xia Yueke with a mischievous smile on his face.

"What's wrong? Are you nervous? Are your hands sweaty? Take it easy. Don't get the banknotes wet, or they won't work. If you're broke, I won't give you a cent. I need to keep it for myself."

After saying that, he straightened up and walked forward with big strides. His gait was wobbly and full of ruffian spirit, as if the whole market was his territory.

Xia Yueke had no choice but to follow. After a few steps, an old orc with a hunched body appeared like a ghost and stopped them.

The old orc exuded a foul odor, like a ghost crawling out of a grave. He stretched out his bony hands, covered in dark brown scabs, and touched the dilapidated stall that emitted an eerie glow. His voice was as hoarse as sandpaper rubbing against the ground, with a faint humming sound:

"Please buy some bread, you two must be hungry."

Xia Yueke was filled with disgust and wanted to ignore him directly, raising her foot to step over the old orc.

But at the moment she exerted force, an invisible pressure suddenly came down upon her. The weight of a thousand pounds was not enough to describe the feeling at the moment. She could not move at all and could only stay where she was, unable to move.

Bai Jinglan was also trapped, but he remained calm on the surface. He pulled a smile that seemed polite but didn't reach his eyes, and asked:

"Uncle, how much is this bread?"

"Five dollars each, just enough to feed one person."

The old orc opened his mouth, which was dark and without any teeth, and emitted a disgusting smell.

There were indeed quite a few loaves of bread on the stall. The bread was as dark as ink in color, with only two or three emitting a strange dark red heat. The rest were covered with black lines, and it was obvious at a glance that they were not human food.

Judging from the situation, they must buy it, but it’s only five dollars! ?

Xia Yueke shuddered all over. If it was five dollars, Bai Jinglan had a five-dollar ghost money, and she had a five-dollar banknote used in normal society. In this market full of unknowns and weirdness, for these orcs, which one was the real money?

Xia Yueke was full of hesitation, and looked at Bai Jinglan with a look of help and inquiry.

Bai Jinglan also didn't move for a long time. His eyes were as gloomy as the sky before a storm. He stared at the old orc, as if trying to find out something from him.

The old orc seemed to sense their hesitation and suddenly became impatient. His voice suddenly rose and became a bit ferocious:

"Are you ready? If you want, just pay. Or do you have no money?"

When he said the last sentence, a strange red light flashed in his eyes, his originally hunched body straightened slightly, and his face showed an almost crazy excitement.

Xia Yueke reached hesitantly into her pocket, her fingertips trembling violently. At this moment, Bai Jinglan stopped her and pointed to a place not far away.

Xia Yueke looked in the direction of his finger and saw that not far away, there was a person who was also stopped and was being sold drinks by the stall owner.

The stall owner's body was twisted, and his skin was like leather that had been soaked and then dried in the air, hanging loosely on his skeleton.

He held a blood-red cup in his hand and kept handing it to the man. The liquid in the cup was emitting strange bubbles and a pungent fishy smell.

The man struggled desperately, but his hands seemed to be stuck with strong glue and he couldn't get rid of the cup no matter how hard he tried. His face was full of fear and despair.

"Ten dollars! Hurry up and give me the money. You took the things, don't you want to pay?"

The stall owner's voice was eerie and terrifying, echoing over the market, making the air around him seem to drop several degrees.

The man was obviously furious, his face livid, but he had no idea what to do. After hesitating for a long time, he took out a real ten-dollar bill from his pocket.

He didn't want to give more, after all, these stalls would not give change, and the extra money would be wasted.

But who would have thought that as soon as the real money appeared, the stall owner was instantly like being possessed by a demon, his eyes widened, his eye sockets almost exploded, he let out a shrill scream, and pounced on the man with his fangs and claws bared.

The man was prepared and when he saw the situation was not good, he dodged to the side and actually avoided the stall owner's crazy attack.
