Chapter 438 Orc Market Survival Guide (9)

Chapter 438 Orc Market Survival Guide (9)

Bai Jinglan curled his lips in disgust, "That's enough, if you keep being so cheesy, take it back!"

Xia Yueke immediately shut up and behaved very well.

"Brother Bai, how long do we have to wait here before we can go back in?"

Bai Jinglan held his chin and looked into the distance, "I don't know, let's wait and see. It won't be less than an hour anyway."

Xia Yueke nodded and sat quietly beside him without disturbing Bai Jinglan.

"What do you think? If we don't go in now, will we just stay outside until the game is over?"

Xia Yue looked at Bai Jinglan expectantly, hoping he could give an answer.

Bai Jinglan glanced at Xia Yueke sideways and said nothing, but his expression was full of sarcasm. Obviously, the game would not be so kind. If they didn't go in and take a look around, they would probably be judged as failures.

Just when Xia Yue was about to think about what Bai Jinglan would say, he spoke again, "We should be able to get out quickly this time. We've already walked two-thirds of the market, and there's only a little left. As long as we get out smoothly, we should be able to complete the mission."

Xia Yueke nodded, calmed down, and began to close his eyes and rest.

An hour later, the two set out again.

Stepping back into the market, they were greeted by a clamorous noise and an eerie atmosphere. Xia Yueke and Bai Jinglan hadn't walked far when they came upon a shocking scene.

Not far away, a burly player was being besieged by a group of stall owners.

The stall owners' faces were twisted and hideous, they let out inhuman roars, and their hands grabbed at the player like eagle claws.

It turned out that the player accidentally violated the rule that "only buy food that is steaming hot. If you find strange black lines on the food, do not eat it. Quietly put it back to the stall and stay away from it."

He thought it was just ordinary food, but after taking a bite, he found it was covered with black lines and spat it out on the spot. The stall owners saw this and immediately became furious, treating him as a sinner who had desecrated the market.

The burly player fought hard, his muscles tensed and veins bulging on his forehead, but the stall owners were so numerous that he gradually lost strength. He was scratched all over his body, bloody marks appeared on his clothes, and his eyes were full of fear and despair.

Xia Yueke frowned, "Why are they still trying to pass the first level? It's been two hours already."

This is too strange. It has been two hours since she and Bai Jinglan came in. It is impossible for a player to get an admission ticket and take so long. The timing seems wrong.

It was noon when they arrived, they walked around the market for an hour, and waited outside for another hour. It should be between two and three o'clock now, and the player was obviously starving, as if he was eating lunch.

Bai Jinglan also nodded, "Anyway, no matter what, pay attention to the sunset. We must leave the market before sunset."

Upon hearing this, Xia Yuke looked up at the sky and found that it was still covered with dark clouds and there was not even any sun. How could he tell when the sun would set?

Helpless, the two had to continue forward. Shortly after entering, a burst of extremely strange sounds surged from all directions.

At first it was a low whimper, coming faintly, and then it suddenly rose to a sharp and piercing scream, like countless sharp blades scraping the eardrum.

Then, layers of sounds intertwined, as if countless crazy orcs were laughing wildly, full of malice.

Xia Yueke's face turned pale instantly, and she covered her ears with her hands, but she couldn't stop the sound from seeping into her mind. Her head was spinning, her stomach was churning, and she was about to faint at any moment.

Bai Jinglan's expression was distorted, his brows were twisted into a knot, veins bulged on his forehead, and his teeth were clenched.

More than ten minutes passed, and the sound became more intense. Xia Yueke gradually lost consciousness, her eyes rolled back, and with the last bit of willpower, she trembled and pulled something out of her body.

It was shaped like an octagonal star, its corners shimmering with a strange metallic sheen and slightly curled. The back of the emblem was engraved with tiny, intricate runes, exuding a sense of timelessness.

The moment that thing reached the sky, all the sounds stopped, and the roar of the beast finally disappeared.

Bai Jinglan looked at the thing and murmured, "Reset the badge?"

He looked at Xia Yueke in surprise, "How do you have this thing? I remember that when I met Du Chong, he didn't have this thing yet..."

Xia Yueke rubbed her swollen temples and spoke in a barely audible voice, "Of course, after you left, we wandered around there for a long time. He took advantage of me not noticing to exchange some counterfeit money from a vendor, so I took this reset badge. I didn't expect him to be so good at taking my red ticket too. So, I didn't lose out at all."

Bai Jinglan raised an eyebrow, quite surprised. "Didn't you disdain to do these things before? Why after I left? You're trying to cheat people and steal their things again?"

Xia Yueke was speechless. Of course, it was because after Bai Jinglan left, she thought everyone wanted to harm her, so she would rather strike first.

Unexpectedly, by accident, this method saved their lives.

"Hey, isn't this just a rainy day? Besides, he took my things, so we're even anyway."

Xia Yue smiled brightly at Bai Jinglan. As soon as she raised her eyes, she was dazzled by the sun in the sky. She didn't know when the sun came out in the west and it looked like it was about to set.

"The sun is setting, let's go! We have to find the exit quickly!"

Xia Yueke put away her smile and turned serious.

But at this moment, something unexpected happened. A man suddenly rushed out, holding a bone knife in his hand and stabbed towards Xia Yueke.

Xia Yueke only felt a strong wind blowing from behind her. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up and an ominous premonition emerged in her heart.

"It's you who took my things! Go to hell!"

Du Chong's voice came from behind, with a murderous and cruel tone.

Xia Yueke felt that he had no way to escape this time, and he felt a little unwilling in his heart. He did not die at the hands of the rules, but died at the hands of this player. That was too shameful.

Bai Jinglan reacted extremely quickly. He turned his head like lightning and pulled Xia Yueke several meters away, avoiding Du Chong's attack.

Bai Jinglan quickly stepped forward and kicked the bone knife out of Du Chong's hand with a side kick.

Du Chong lost his weapon and had no strength to resist. He was knocked to the ground by Bai Jinglan in two blows. He wailed for a long time and couldn't get up.

Xia Yueke stood firm before turning around and looking at Du Chong lying on the ground. Du Chong's face was covered in blood, and blood was flowing from his eyes, ears and nose. It seemed that he was bleeding from all seven orifices.

"Heh, you said I took your things, but didn't you also take mine? We're even now."

Xia Yueke folded his arms and looked at Du Chong sarcastically.
