Chapter 54: Eaten by the Beast
Before Xia Yuke could feel touched for long, Qian Jingyao picked her up. Qian Jingyao's arms were like the most solid harbor, gently surrounding her.
His voice was incredibly gentle, and it seemed to carry a hint of sweetness, filling the air around him with a scent of tenderness:
"Keke, feel the snow fox beast form on your body carefully. Can you sense my presence?"
Xia Yueke was stunned, her fan-like eyelashes trembled slightly, and she quickly felt the sensation on her arm.
In an instant, a warmth spread like a gurgling stream. It was not the rough heat of burning, but it was just like soaking in a hot spring. The warm water gently caressed every inch of skin, making people shiver with comfort.
Xia Yueke raised her little head in confusion, her deep blue eyes were like a clear mirror in the sky, reflecting her full of doubts.
"What is this? It feels so weird! But... I think I feel like you're nearby!"
Xia Yueke closed her eyes, and her thick and slightly curled eyelashes cast a small shadow on her eyelids.
She held her breath and felt it carefully. Having this beast form was like having the most sophisticated radar.
She seemed to feel that Qian Jingyao was like a bright star, emitting a unique light in the world she perceived. She could roughly sense his position, and it felt like there was an invisible thread connecting them.
Qian Jingyao smiled. His smile was like the sunshine at dawn, bright and warm, with a gleam in his eyes.

Xia Yueke blinked her big blue eyes like gemstones and tilted her head to think about it.
She had fun all day today and was really a little tired.
It seemed as if two little people were fighting in her little head. One said that there were still fun things to do at the party, and the other was muttering that sleepiness was coming like a tide and it would be more comfortable to sleep.
Finally, sleepiness took over. "I'm going back now! Have a good rest. I'm so sleepy!"
There was a hint of laziness in her soft voice.
As Xia Yueke spoke, she rubbed her eyes like a little kitten, yawned a little, and her pink little tongue stuck out unconsciously, looking extremely adorable.
Qian Jingyao looked at her like this, his eyes full of doting. He gently picked up Xia Yueke and walked towards his cave.
Qian Jingyao likes quietness by nature, so his cave is at the northernmost part of the tribe. Also because he is relatively powerful, the cave is closest to the misty forest, where danger and tranquility are intertwined.
The two had just walked through the most crowded area, and the noisy sounds around them gradually faded away, and they came to the vicinity of Qian Jingyao's cave.
The air here seems to have become cooler, with a faint fragrance.
Just as he was about to enter the cave, at this critical moment, a rustling sound suddenly came from the woods in the distance, as if something was approaching at an extremely terrifying speed, and the air around him seemed to be stirred and uneasy.
Immediately afterwards, a red object, like a strange flash of lightning, swept Xia Yueke away from Qian Jingyao's arms at lightning speed.
Everything happened so fast, as fast as the blink of an eye. Qian Jingyao was caught off guard and could only watch Xia Yueke being swept away by that horrible thing.
Xia Yueke only felt her body suddenly rise into the air. She was so scared that her face turned pale and her little hands were clasping in the air in panic, like a drowning person trying to grab the last straw.
Her little feet kept kicking and she shouted loudly:
"distant--"
The voice was crying and full of fear.
But after she shouted this, she was quickly dragged away by that thing.
Xia Yueke thought in horror, what is this thing?
She felt that the thing wrapped around her body was wet and slippery. Could it be an animal like a frog?
As soon as this thought came to her mind, she felt nauseous, her stomach churning, and her face turned pale. Her originally rosy face now looked like a piece of white paper.
Before she could struggle a bit, the surroundings suddenly fell into darkness. The darkness was like a monster with a bloody mouth, swallowing her up.
Then, the giant tongue stretched out again. Xia Yueke felt dizzy, and before she could react, she was in the other's mouth.
Her heart was beating so fast that it seemed like it was about to jump out of her throat. Her mind was blank, filled with endless fear.
When Qian Jingyao saw Xia Yueke being swept away by a red object, his eyes instantly ignited with flames of anger and anxiety. He immediately transformed into a beast and chased in the direction where the red figure disappeared like a white lightning.
However, what he didn't expect was that the level of that thing seemed to be the same as his, with amazing speed and stealth capabilities.
He galloped through the woods, the wind whistling past his ears, but the only sounds around him were the birds startled by him and the rustling of leaves.
Every one of his senses was mobilized to the extreme, trying to capture any trace of the red figure and Xia Yueke, but that guy seemed to have completely merged into this dark forest and disappeared without a trace.
He was extremely anxious, and the hair on his forehead was soaked with sweat and stuck to his skin.
"Coco, you must wait for me."
Qian Jingyao screamed wildly in his heart. He had never been so scared before. He was afraid of losing Xia Yueke.
Every second of fruitless searching was like a sharp knife, stabbing his heart.
Xia Yueke's lovely appearance, blue eyes and sweet smile kept appearing in his mind. When he thought that she might be in danger now, his heart felt like it was being tightly grasped by an invisible big hand, and it hurt so much that he couldn't breathe.
