Chapter 140 Hunting Lesson

Chapter 140 Hunting Lesson

Xia Yueke was a little curious about what kind of severe punishment Hu Wanchou would impose.

The reward for winning the game was to exempt him from punishment once.

Hu Wanchou stood in front of the cubs, his eyes sweeping across the room with dignity. He cleared his throat and began to lecture:

"Hunting isn't just about force; it involves a lot of science. Different prey have different habits. Some, like the cunning raccoon, hide during the day and come out at night; others, like the agile otter, prefer to stay near water."

"Knowing this is the key to accurate tracking. When tracking prey, you need to carefully identify its footprints, hair, and feces to infer its size, direction of movement, and speed."

"Weapon usage is crucial. Stone axes, wooden spears, and bone knives all have their own unique advantages. Mastering the angle and timing of attack is key to achieving a successful strike."

Xia Yueke stood straight, her fiery red fox fur dancing in the wind, just like a jumping burning flame.

Her eyes were wide open, staring at Hu Wanchou closely, full of curiosity and concentration. Her ears moved slightly from time to time, afraid of missing any exciting moments, and she was immersed in it.

This class is much more interesting than Qi'an's class!

Or teach her how to hunt? She doesn't even know how to catch rabbits right now!

Hu Wanchou glanced sharply at the cubs.

"In today's hunting class, we are going to learn how to track prey."

As he spoke, he raised his giant tiger paw and pointed it towards the depths of the grassland. "You must split into groups and search that area for the simulated prey I've hidden."

Xia Yueke, Jingru and Yuanyuan looked at each other and quickly formed a group.

They headed cautiously towards the depths of the grassland, and Xia Yueke, relying on her fox's keen sense of smell, tried to detect the scent of her prey.

Jingru walked with the graceful gait of an alpaca, vigilantly observing the movements around her, while Yuanyuan followed behind, grunting and nudging the ground from time to time.

Suddenly, Xia Yueke's ears moved, and she seemed to have discovered some clues.

She ran in the direction of the breath, and Jingru and Yuanyuan hurriedly followed.

Behind a bush, they found a "prey" that was well camouflaged with dry grass and branches.

Just as they were excitedly preparing to "capture" it, several male cubs transformed into cheetahs suddenly jumped out with provocative eyes.

"We discovered this first!" shouted the leading male cheetah cub.

Xia Yue was not willing to be outdone. He arched his back and made a low fox-like sound.

She stood facing the cheetah cub without flinching and said loudly:

"We found it first, why should it belong to you?"

The little cheetahs didn't take it seriously and kept pressing forward.

Jingru and Yuanyuan hid behind Xia Yueke in fear, but Xia Yueke firmly guarded her "prey".

Just when the two sides were in a stalemate, Hu Wanchou appeared not far away like a gust of wind.

His eyes were like cold stars, his face was stern, and he exuded a chilling aura.

He roared angrily, and the sound was like thunder exploding on the grassland. The little cheetahs were instantly frightened and dared not move, and were silent as a mouse.

Hu Wanchou walked over slowly with heavy and powerful steps. He looked at the cubs and scolded them sternly:

"While fighting for prey is common during hunting, your reckless and rude behavior, relying solely on force, is sheer folly! Strength isn't the sole determining factor; wisdom and teamwork are key. Your pointless arguments will only allow the prey to escape easily, a disgrace to the very name of hunter!"

After hearing this, Xia Yueke was touched. She rolled her eyes and said to the little cheetahs:

"We can work together to bring this 'prey' back and show our results to Teacher Hu, and then we can discuss how to distribute it."

The little cheetahs thought about it for a moment and thought that this was a good suggestion. The leading male cub nodded.

So they worked together to move the "prey" to Hu Wanchou.

Hu Wanchou looked at them, his face still serious. He just nodded slightly and said:

"This time I barely passed, but you must remember, if you do something so absurd again, I will not let you off lightly!"

Xia Yueke and the other cubs continued to look for prey.

After resolving the conflict with the little cheetahs and successfully carrying back the first "prey", Xia Yueke reached a temporary cooperative alliance with Jingru and Yuanyuan from the same group, as well as the little cheetahs.

With his cunning and intelligent mind, Xia Yueke began to command everyone to continue looking for prey.

She made full use of her fox instincts and deliberately left some confusing scent trails as she moved across the grassland to mislead other groups in their tracking directions.

But when she discovered the real hiding place of the prey, she quietly led her companions around to the downwind side of the prey to avoid the scent exposing their whereabouts.

When approaching the prey, Xia Yueke signaled everyone to disperse and form an encirclement.

She uses her flexible body to quietly approach her prey, then unexpectedly makes some noises to scare the prey and make it flee towards the encirclement.

In this way, they successfully captured their prey time and time again.

While other groups were still searching around in confusion, Xia Yueke's group had already reaped a lot of rewards.

As time went by, after an afternoon of running around, Xia Yueke felt that her fox legs had become much stronger due to the high-intensity exercise, and their group unsurprisingly became the winner of this hunting class with the most prey found.

Hu Wanchou crossed his arms and looked at Xia Yueke's team who had returned with a full load. He said, "Your team performed exceptionally well."

Xia Yueke stepped forward and responded respectfully: "This is all thanks to everyone's concerted efforts."

Hu Wanchou's eyes fell on Xia Yueke:

"Are you the new guy? Xia Yueke. Your command strategy is quite cunning. You deliberately leave misleading scents while traversing the grasslands, then go around to the downwind after finding your prey, and even cleverly set up an encirclement. Was that your idea?"

Xia Yueke's eyes lit up and she replied with a smile:

"Teacher, I just used some of the fox's tricks to help our group gain more."

Jingru echoed from the side: "Yes, Yue Keke is smart. She led us so smoothly."

Hu Wanchou nodded slightly:

"Although your method is clever, hunting doesn't rely solely on trickery; it also requires strength and experience. You are the victors today, but you must not slack off in the future."

Xia Yueke immediately nodded in agreement obediently.

Hu Wanchou clapped his hands. The sound was so clear and loud that it instantly penetrated the noise on the grassland. All the cubs immediately stopped what they were doing and looked at him in unison.

"Okay, today's winner is this group!"

Hu Wanchou's powerful voice echoed across the grassland. His eyes, filled with approval and majesty, slowly swept over the members of Xia Yueke's group. "If you make a mistake next time, I can exempt you from this punishment!"

As he spoke, he grinned slightly, revealing his two iconic ferocious fangs, but there was a barely perceptible smile in his eyes as he looked at the cubs with a smile.
