Chapter 31 Choosing a Partner
Just when Xia Yue was feeling confident that she could live a carefree and comfortable life, a piece of news hit her like a bolt from the blue, shocking her to the point of being devastated.
It was a bright, almost dazzling morning. Wu Ya looked at Xia Yueke, who was leisurely licking her fur, and said with a smile:
"Keke, look how big you've grown. In a few days, the tribe should start choosing mates for you two little female cubs!"
Xia Yueke's originally smooth licking action was like being suddenly grabbed by an invisible big hand, and she froze instantly. Her small tongue was still sticking out, maintaining a funny posture.
Then, her body trembled slightly as if she had been electrocuted, her eyes widened, filled with fear and confusion, as if she had heard the most incredible thing in the world.
"What?"
Her voice was a little distorted due to extreme shock, and it echoed in the cave with a hint of crying.

She began to pace back and forth in the cave, tapping the ground with her little paws rapidly, making a "tapping" sound.
She looked at Wu Ya from time to time, with a hint of pleading in her eyes, hoping that this was just a joke.
However, Wu Yana's serious expression told her that all this was true.
Her thoughts began to wander. In fact, she had beautiful expectations for her future partner.
She hoped that he would have a strong and agile body, like the warriors in the tribe who were good at running and jumping when hunting, with an upright and powerful posture, which would make her admire him every time he appeared.
His eyes should be gentle and firm, and when he looks at her, she can feel full of love and pampering.
It would be best if he had a hint of humor and could make her laugh with just a few words when she was unhappy, rather than being boring and old-fashioned like those old men she imagined.
She felt that her life was dark, like a small boat that had lost its direction in a storm. The days ahead were simply too terrible!

After recovering from the shock, Xia Yueke decided not to sit still and wait for death.
She first ran to find Duzi, Juanjuan and Rongqiu and complained to them.
"Can you imagine? They actually want to choose a partner for me, and I'm so young!"
Xia Yueke was so angry that her face turned red, and she waved her little paws wildly in the air, accidentally hitting Duzi's head next to her.
She quickly patted Duzi with her little paw, with a hint of apology in her eyes, but soon filled with anger, "This is simply outrageous!"
"This is ridiculous, Keke! You haven't even turned into a cub orc yet! And they're already looking for a mate for you!"
Duzi frowned, his little eyes full of anger and disbelief, his brows almost twisted into a knot.
He rubbed the place where Xia Yueke hit him, nudged Xia Yueke with his head to show that he was fine, and then stomped his paws hard while speaking.
"That's right, you haven't found a partner for me yet!"
Juanjuan was complaining heartlessly, with a hint of curiosity and anticipation in her eyes, as if she was imagining what it would be like to find a partner.
As soon as he finished speaking, he was hit hard by the ball of fluff.
Rongqiu's palm strike was so powerful that Juanjuan staggered.
"Is this the right time to talk about this? Do you still have Coco in your eyes?"
Rongqiu was so angry that all the fur on his body stood up. He clenched his little paws tightly, stared at Juanjuan with his eyes wide open.
He walked over to Xia Yueke again, rubbed her body, as if to comfort her, and muttered:
"Keke, don't be afraid, we'll find a solution together."
Xia Yueke looked at Rongqiu gratefully and nodded.
Rongqiu is still reliable. She knows that she is the most important thing now, and she can't let them find a partner for her casually. If they choose someone she is not satisfied with, she will fight to the end!
Three days passed like a gust of wind, and it went by in a flash.
These past few days, Xia Yuekeke was really pitiful. The rice tasted like wood chips in her mouth and had no taste at all.
Lying in bed at night, I tossed and turned like a pancake, my mind full of my miserable "fox life trailer". I felt that the future was simply dark, darker than the deepest cave!
When Chu Qingchen saw Xia Yuke's appearance, he felt so distressed as if his beloved baby had been snatched away.

When the three little guys, Duzi, Juanjuan and Rongqiu, heard this, they immediately got excited and started shouting at the same time. The noise was so loud that it almost blew the roof of the cave off.
They talked one after another, vying to pour out Xia Yueke's troubles all at once, like pouring beans, crackling.
After Chu Qingchen understood, he was stunned at first, and then he burst into laughter as if he had heard the funniest joke in the world. The laughter was like rolling thunder, echoing in the cave.
Qiu Xing was also trying to hold back his laughter, as if he was about to burst out laughing in the next second.
"Keke, what are you thinking about! We orcs are all extremely long-lived, and can live for three or four hundred years! Don't worry, when you grow up, your partner won't become an old orc, and will still be as handsome and hairless as now!"
