Chapter 54 Going to School

Ning Zhihuan was about to explain when Chen Zhu said with a look of sudden enlightenment, "I see! So you rushed out so early in the morning to pick up your big brother? Look at you, you didn't even tell your aunt, and I don't know how long you've been waiting." After saying that, she glared at Ning Zhilang, "You didn't even think of coming out earlier."

Ning Zhilang nodded and said yes, and looked at Ning Zhihuan with a distressed face as if she had done something great and selfless.

She was so confused by the look on her face that she was wondering how to explain that she was just passing by.

After much thought, I realized that it would be difficult to explain if I mentioned Xiao Yuchi, so I just let them continue to misunderstand me.

So this misunderstanding continued until dinner time. Chen Zhu kept picking up food for her, and Ning Zhilang kept asking her if she wanted to eat anything else.

Ning Zhihuan looked helpless.

"Aunt, big brother, I can do it myself."

Ning Zhilang rarely comes back. As the first prospective college student in the family, it goes without saying how important he is to them.

Therefore, the three brothers Ning Qingjian, Ning Qingzhong and Ning Qinghua all came back.

Ning Qingjian naturally heard about it as well and laughed happily.

"Don't be so polite, Huanbao. You've been waiting for your brother for a whole day. It's only natural that your brother picks food for you."

Ning Qinghua, who was sitting next to Ning Zhihuan, quickly waved his hands and said, "No, no, Huanbao wants to go out and play too, right? Huanbao?"

With her father to help her out, Ning Zhihuan nodded repeatedly.

But Chen Zhu and her son still do their own thing.

I didn't eat much of the meal myself, and everything went into her bowl.

Looking at the food piled up like a mountain, Ning Zhihuan looked at Old Lady Ning for help.

Old Mrs. Ning smiled first, then spoke out to stop him.

"Alright, alright, daughter-in-law and Zhilang, you guys should eat yourselves. Look at that little naughty Huanbao, he definitely can't eat anymore."

Ning Zhihuan nodded frantically in agreement.

The mother and son took one look at the mountain of food and finally nodded reluctantly.

But it can be seen that the two are still worried, and their eyes are always staring at Ning Zhihuan's bowl.

Ning Zhihuan looked at them and could only eat while covering his bowl and looking at the mother and son with fear.

Ning Zhigan curled his lips and said, "Dad, you pick it up for me too!"

Ning Qingzhong gave her a fried chestnut and she finished the meal with her hands covering her forehead while crying.

Everyone enjoyed the meal happily, except Ning Hong, who went back to her room without saying a word after finishing her meal.

Every time Ning Zhilang came back, the family would gather around him and ask about his well-being.

If nothing unexpected happens, she and Ning Zhilang should both be in their third year of high school.

But now I am inexplicably shorter than him.

Ning Zhilang was very caring towards her and always asked her if she had any questions that she couldn't answer.

That's ridiculous.

Ning Hong gritted her teeth and thought that in her previous life, she dropped out of school before finishing her senior year of high school and had no idea what senior year of high school was like.

No matter what, it’s still the Ning family’s fault.

Ning Hong still thinks it is the Ning family's problem.

It was the Ning family's harsh treatment and inaction that made her enter society early and realize their sinister intentions.

That’s why I didn’t finish high school.

Thinking about it now, I feel very regretful.

But... the first college student? Just wait and see, she's determined to make sure the Ning family never produces another! In the end, they'll be left at her mercy, barely surviving.

Staring at her leaving back, Old Lady Ning moved her lips and said something.

Probably something like that, saying she was a spoiler.

Ning Zhihuan, Ning Zhigan and Ning Zhilang helped clean up the dishes and brought them to the kitchen, and then they were driven out by Li Xueyan and Chen Zhu.

Several people brought a few chairs to the outside dam to enjoy the cool air.

Old Mrs. Ning had been waiting outside for a long time, fanning herself with a palm-leaf fan, watching the younger generation running around with a slit in her eyes, unable to hide the smile on her lips.

By the time Ning Zhihuan and the others were done, Li Xueyan and the others had almost finished cleaning up.

So the whole family lay on the lounge chairs outside, sitting comfortably around the fireplace, watching the moon and eating the nameless crispy cakes that Ning Qinghua brought back.

Ning Zhilang started it first.

"I've been away from home for a long time because I went to school. Is there anything wrong? Tell me about it."

Ning Zhigan volunteered to tell him what happened, and then chattered a lot of useless nonsense.

He got a little excited at the end.

Ning Zhilang smiled helplessly and shook his head.

Chen Zhu added, "Speaking of big things, no matter how big it is, it can't compare to what happened to our Huanbao. Huanbao is going to school!"

"Really?" Ning Zhilang said in surprise.

He looked at Ning Zhihuan and confirmed, "Is it true, little sister?"

Ning Zhihuan nodded.

It can be seen that Ning Zhilang is happy for her from the bottom of his heart.

Old Lady Ning pretended to be angry and said, "How could I lie to you? You should give your younger brothers and sisters more tutoring when you have time."

Ning Zhilang nodded and said yes.

Ning Zhigan said unconvincedly, "I can also tutor my little sister!"

But Li Xueyan glared at him and added bluntly, "First, pass your English test with a score of 60!"

The elders were laughing heartily, but Ning Zhi was so embarrassed that he couldn't help himself, blaming his mother for not giving him face.

Ning Zhilang was also very happy. In fact, he came back for the winter vacation this time for three reasons: one, to spend the New Year with his family; two, to relax because of the pressure; and three, to persuade his younger sister to go to school. He also did not forget about Li Xueyan.

In this day and age, it seems that studying has no meaning.

Everyone was equally poor; as long as you could work and go to the fields, you were fine. As long as you had hands and feet, you could earn money to support yourself.

But he has a hunch that the next few years will be an era of China's rapid development.

What we need are college students.

Even if Ning Zhihuan might not be able to get into university in the future, there is always nothing wrong with studying more.

He also supported Li Xueyan to continue taking the college entrance examination.

"Where's Second Aunt? How are your preparations going? Teacher Li said the adult college entrance exam will be held after ours. You've been preparing for so long, so you'll be taking it this time, right?"

Li Xueyan blushed and stammered, unable to answer.

Ning Zhihuan knew that she had no confidence.

So she laughed it off and said, "Second Auntie must be well prepared. Maybe she'll even get into the same university as you, big brother."

Ning Zhilang said with a smile, "That's great, we can still be alumni. Maybe I still have questions to ask Second Aunt, so please don't be secretive."

Hearing them say this, Li Xueyan forced a smile.

Looking at Li Xueyan, Ning Zhihuan felt that her problem was quite serious.

Although we don't know what her foundation is, it is understood that she has been preparing for this for three or four years.

Considering her diligent character, it shouldn't be too bad.
