Chapter 6 A Ball Rolls Down the Hill

The boy was tall and thin, with a handsome and delicate face, as if he had walked out of a painting.

"Master, Doctor Lin said that you'd better go out for a walk every day to get some fresh air."

"Hmm." The boy's voice was indifferent, and he seemed to have no interest in anything.

The housekeeper had long been accustomed to his appearance, but he still couldn't help but feel distressed, so he softened his tone and said, "Then let's take a walk at the foot of the mountain."

The boy still looked lazy, "Okay."

As he spoke, his ears moved and his eyelids slightly raised. "What's that sound?"

It was rare for him to speak up, and the housekeeper was inexplicably surprised and offered to go over and take a look.

Just as he finished speaking, he heard a clear scream getting closer and closer, and a gray creature that looked like a sphere rolled down the mountain. A hand stretched out from the ball, holding the poor pheasant by the neck. The pheasant was flapping its wings desperately, and the red and yellow feathers on its wings were flying in the air, and slowly fell on the boy's head.

"Clack, clack." The pheasant's eyes bulged out and it asked the boy for help.

Finally, the ball braked and stopped steadily at the boy's feet.

A furry head popped out of the ball, and from the hairstyle it could be identified that it was a little girl.

A chubby face, rosy skin, rosy little mouth, and bright eyes. Just by looking at her, you can feel the joy emanating from her.

Ning Zhihuan got up without any dignity, rubbed his face twice, spat out the weeds in his mouth, held up the pheasant, and said fiercely: "Why are you running? I won't eat you!"

"Puff!" A quick laugh rang out.

She looked towards the source of the sound and saw a well-dressed, gentle-looking middle-aged man.

But soon, her attention was drawn to the young man behind her.

The boy looked about seventeen or eighteen, with short hair. His smooth face, high nose, and sharp features exuded a sense of refinement. However, his skin was too pale, and his thin lips had an unnatural hue. The cold wind blew past, ruffling the hem of his clothes and causing his frail shoulders to tremble.

He raised his eyes slightly, his dark pupils tinged with faint blue. Such beautiful eyes, but without any emotion.

Another gust of wind ruffled his hair.

At this moment, four words suddenly appeared in Ning Zhihuan's mind - beautiful scenery and bright moon.

"Little girl, little girl?" The housekeeper waved his hand in front of her. Seeing that she had come back to her senses, he smiled kindly and said, "Which village are you from? Why haven't I seen you before?"

Ning Zhihuan pointed behind him and said, "I'm from Red Star Village. This is my first time on this side of the mountain. Of course, you haven't seen me before."

The housekeeper raised his eyebrows, as if a little worried. "What about your parents? Are they comfortable with you going far away alone?"

"Uncle, I never thought that when you were my age, you still needed mom and dad to follow you everywhere!" Ning Zhihuan paused, then smiled innocently. She raised her chin with pride, "Of course I went up the mountain alone, and climbed the entire mountain by myself! And I even caught this pheasant and let it compete with my little flower in laying eggs!"

The housekeeper pondered, this mountain is at least ten meters high and the terrain is steep. Even if an adult wants to cross it completely, his legs will be so tired that they will become weak.

However, the little girl in front of him just blushed a little, sweated a little, and even her breathing was not rapid.

Does she really have the ability, or is she just bragging, or does she have other purposes?

Now is a sensitive period. His young master has a special status and his master has given him many instructions, so he cannot be careless.

After a pause, the butler raised his thumb with a smile and looked amazed. Just as he was about to speak, he heard the young man behind him cough.

"Uncle An, the wind is strong, let's go back."

Uncle An agreed, waved to Ning Zhihuan, and protected the young man as he left.

The group of people were getting farther and farther away, and the innocent smile on Ning Zhihuan's face gradually faded. His eyes flickered with some thoughts.

She wasn't really a fourteen-year-old girl, so she couldn't even detect such an obvious temptation.

Judging from the uncle's appearance, he should be a butler. His forearm muscles are taut, and there are thick calluses on the base of his right hand. He is also a martial artist. And this young man, who is tightly protected by bodyguards and has amazed her, must be of high status.

Why would such a person appear in a small mountain village?

Shaking his head, Ning Zhihuan put these doubts behind him.

She is now the most favored girl in the Ning family of Hongxing Village. She is a little village girl who is devoted to her family and has no time to care about so many things.

Thinking of this, Ning Zhihuan turned around, hummed a song, and skipped towards home.

Not far away, in the lonely little courtyard, Uncle An listened to the bodyguard's reply and lowered his eyes in thought.

"Did you find out?" Xiao Yuchi held the hot tea in his hand. The rising steam made his face look even paler. "Uncle An, my father must have made sufficient preparations to arrange for me to be here. You don't have to worry too much."

How could Uncle An not know?

But he was afraid. Those people were staring at the Xiao family's piece of cake, hoping that the benefits would be taken away by Nei Lu. Since they couldn't plot against the master, they reached out to the young master.

Over the years, he took the young master to hide from place to place, and every time he thought he could breathe a sigh of relief, fatal danger would strike the next second.

The young master is inherently weak and has never had a peaceful life since he was a child. Although he is in the prime of his life, he is like an old man who is about to die.

Uncle An couldn't help but think of what the fortune teller said - only a girl can come from the sky to resolve the young master's disaster.

He shouldn't even believe in these feudal superstitions, but every time he saw the young master suffering, he couldn't help but imagine how great it would be if the noble person the fortune teller mentioned really existed.

Ning Zhihuan came down the mountain and the sky had already turned black.

"Huanbao, Huanbao!"

The rising and falling shouts could be heard from afar. Ning Zhihuan jumped up, waving her hands, "Grandma, I'm here!"

Old Mrs. Ning walked over quickly, held her arm and looked her up and down. Seeing that there was only some dirt and weeds on her body, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Then he raised his brows and pretended to be fierce, "You little girl, it's already dark and you still don't know how to go home. Today I must teach you a lesson!"

She raised her hand, with no intention of swinging it down.

Ning Zhihuan smiled and took her arm, "Grandma, I picked up a lot of things in the mountains. I'll show them to you when I get home."

"Oh, your Huanbao is so amazing!" Old Mrs. Ning didn't even know what she picked up, but she kept praising him.

She knew that after so long, all the good things in the back mountain had been picked up, and her good granddaughter could only pick some pretty flowers and plants.

Seeing this, Ning Zhihuan was not in a hurry. He took Old Lady Ning's hand and went home.

As soon as I entered the main room, I was blinded by a pair of big hands, "My dear girl, guess who is back."

Ning Zhihuan: “…”

He really treats her like a child.

Well, although her mental age is 28, this body is only 14 years old, so she is indeed still a child.

"Dad, I can't guess." She said crisply.

Ning Qinghua laughed, "My daughter is so smart, she guessed it right away!"

After saying that, he pulled over the woven bag at the door and said mysteriously, "Guess what goodies Daddy brought you this time?"
