Chapter 213 Huang Wenrong VI

The next day, Wang Shi went to Huang Shao's company in person and successfully obtained the investment funds.

After returning to the company, he immediately announced the news of the second part and designated Wen Rong as the heroine. This news quickly caused an uproar in the media circle.

After Gao Fei heard the news, he enviously said to Wen Rong, "You're so lucky to have found a rich and powerful person who's willing to support you."

Wenrong smiled but did not explain.

Just like He Chuan pretended to be unfamiliar with Huang Shao in front of others, she also didn't want to make their relationship public. Firstly, she was too lazy to deal with those who tried to gain connections, and secondly, it would help her avoid unnecessary dinners and harassment.

Although the female lead has been decided, the male lead has not yet been cast.

Wang Shi offered his own opinion: "I think Xiao Feng is quite good. We had a pleasant cooperation before, and his pricing is affordable. Now that he is so actively pursuing it, we can definitely continue our cooperation."

He Chuan firmly objected: "Although this is the second season, the female lead has changed, so it's better to change the male lead, otherwise the audience will be easily distracted. Besides, he hasn't finished filming this drama yet."

"No! Haven't Wenrong and Xiaofeng worked together before? They have a certain audience base. The actors are familiar with each other, so the sparks they create will be even better."

He Chuan's face darkened even further, and he said in a firm tone, "His image is too sunny, which doesn't match the conditions I want for the male lead. I've already contacted a few decent actors. There's no need for the entire crew to wait for Feng Zong to start filming alone. Anyway, this is my opinion."

Seeing this, Wang Shi was in no position to refute. After all, He Chuan had made a killing in the previous film, and if the second one could win him an award, that would be even better.

Finally, the male and female leading actors were decided.

That day, Huang Shao drove to Wen Rong's hotel and handed her the car keys: "I have to go to City A for work during this period. You drive this car first."

Wenrong took the key and said excitedly, "Fourth Uncle, are you going to City A? Can you help me check on Wenjuan and Xiaomei? They said their place is surrounded by windows on three sides, and the view is amazing. It's especially beautiful at sunset. You don't even need to turn on the lights at home at night; the night view outside is bright enough."

Huang Shao smiled and nodded: "Okay, I'll go and help you this time. I'll come back and help you prepare the materials. I'll take you there after you finish filming."

Wen Rong was even happier when he heard this, and happily saw Huang Shao off from the hotel, but he didn't notice a sneaky figure not far away.

The next day, the front pages of major entertainment newspapers in Hong Kong were all filled with photos of Huang Shao and Wen Rong. Huang Shao's face was only blurred out around his eyes, while Wen Rong's photo was clear. The headlines were even more shocking:

- "The General Manager of a Listed Group Has a Night Out with a Chinese Girl"

- "A mainland girl soared to stardom with her superb skills"

- "Canary wants a house, a car, and fame"

Various reporters flocked to the set, questioning Wen Rong. Seeing the situation getting out of control, He Chuan escorted Wen Rong off the set. Even the lobby of the hotel where they were staying was swarming with reporters.

He Chuan sent Wen Rong back to his room, then he smiled and joked, "I didn't expect Fourth Uncle Huang to be so famous in Hong Kong. Our drama has become a hit before it even airs."

Hearing him say this, Wenrong felt a little relieved. "These paparazzi are really imaginative. Luckily, Fourth Uncle's appearance in the photo is relatively easy to recognize. Otherwise, if my family saw it, they would really have a hard time explaining it."

He Chuan said seriously, "Someone is deliberately doing this. You should just rest in your room for the next few days. Let's see what else they do next."

In the following days, Wen Rong did not show up, but the newspapers continued to report on the incident from so-called "insiders":

**Whistleblower**: "The original female lead for this drama was Miss Hong Kong runner-up Lucy, but she was snatched away by a mainland Chinese girl. It was because she had a godfather who invested in this drama specifically to support her."

**Second whistleblower**: "I'm from mainland China. She's been flirting with male actors, directors, and producers on mainland Chinese film sets. She's had a string of boyfriends before she got to where she is now."

**Whistleblower No. 3**: "She has terrible acting skills and a terrible temper. She's been known to hit any actress who's prettier than her on set."

Various revelations continued to surface, and the incident became a hot topic. Even Feng Zong tried to contact Wen Rong, asking him indirectly whether the newspaper reports were true.

Although Wen Rong didn't explain it completely, he told him bluntly, "It's all fake. Not a single one of it is believable."

Hearing her say this, Feng Zong was very happy and immediately said that his drama had been completed and he would come to Hong Kong to see her in two days.

After investigating, He Chuan discovered that all this was the work of Miss Hong Kong runner-up Lucy. She was resentful that Wen Rong stole the spotlight at the celebration banquet and that Wang Shi had abandoned her. She hired someone to follow Wen Rong, take photos, and mail them to major entertainment newspapers.

Wen Rong asked, "Now that we've investigated everything, can I clear the air? Otherwise, hiding in the hotel will only delay the crew's progress."

He Chuan advised, "I've already contacted Fourth Uncle about this matter. He'll be back in the next couple of days, and he'll personally hold a press conference. The effect will be better than you coming here to clarify things."

Wen Rong had no choice but to wait for two more days. When Huang Shao came to see her, he saw that she was in good spirits and smiled and said:

"It seems that what He Chuan said was right. You have a strong ability to withstand pressure. Here, Wen Juan asked me to bring this to you. She said she bought three pairs, one for each of you."

Wenrong opened the box and saw a pair of diamond-encrusted ruby earrings. She cheered happily, "Wow! So beautiful!" She couldn't wait to put them on and asked Huang Shao, "Fourth Uncle, do you think they look good?"
