Chapter 461: The Edge of Collapse

It is said that day that Ding Lili's husband Ma Jianhua was scolded by Yu Sui and eventually went to the hospital.

When they arrived at the hospital, the doctor happened to tell Ding Lili that the child might have intracranial hemorrhage and needed emergency surgery, and asked the parents to sign.

Ding Lili burst into tears and snot: "I won't sign, I won't sign. Why does he need surgery? Doctor, please take a closer look at what's going on. He's so young, how can he even use his brain?"

The doctor said earnestly: "The bleeding is severe and surgery is necessary. If you don't have surgery, it will affect your life."

"Ahhhh!" Ding Lili fell to the ground and cried.

Ma Jianhua went over and said, "Doctor, is the child's condition really that serious? Does he need brain surgery?"

The doctor looked at him: "You are..."

"I... am the child's parent."

"It's quite serious. Come and take a look. The child's entire nervous system has been clearly affected, so he has intermittent spasms. Surgery is necessary immediately."

The doctor took Ma Jianhua to the child and explained in detail.

Ma Jianhua looked at the young child on the hospital bed with a look of heartache. Unable to find words, he still asked, "What caused this?"

The doctor looked at Ma Jianhua, then at Ding Lili, who was not far away. "The child's mother said that he fell off the bed. Don't you know?"

Ma Jianhua pursed his lips and said, "I wasn't there at the time."

"Then it's up to you. Do you want to have the surgery or not? If you do, you have to sign quickly, otherwise the child will be in danger." The doctor handed a piece of paper to Ma Jianhua, opened it himself, and went to prepare the operating room.

Ma Jianhua walked over to Ding Lili with the paper in his hand, trying hard to suppress the impatience in his eyes. He said with a straight face, "The doctor said that surgery is necessary, otherwise it will be very dangerous. I don't know how you feel about your child being in such a state!"

Ding Lili had been on the verge of collapse, and now, after hearing what Ma Jianhua said, she immediately exploded: "How can I take care of my child? If there is something wrong, you should come to see me, but where are you? How dare you say that to me!"

Ma Jianhua looked around. It was early in the morning and there were not many patients, but the nurse glared at them with dissatisfaction.

This made Ma Jianhua a little embarrassed.

He lowered his voice and said, "What's the point of you saying all this now? I just want to ask you, how much money do you have? Brain surgery costs a lot of money, so you should take out all the money."

Ding Lili's voice was loud: "Why should I take the money? My son is not mine alone. You always don't care about him. Now that he's in trouble, you won't care about him either? You have to pay for his treatment!"

Ma Jianhua pursed his lips and looked at Ding Lili for three minutes. Then, the man threw the paper in his hand to the ground, turned around and strode away.

Ding Lili was confused at first.

Although I know that this man has a dull personality, his son is in danger now, so he won't just leave him alone, right?

Ding Lili chased after him.

I saw the man get on his bicycle and leave!

Ding Lili shouted, "Hey, Ma Jianhua, where are you going? Hey!"

The man rode away without even turning his head, as if he hadn't heard anything.

The nurse ran out and called out to Ding Lili, "Hey, Ma Ying's mother, the doctor is waiting for your signatures. Where are you going? Are you going to sign or not? Hey!"

Ding Lili stood at the hospital entrance, looked at her husband who had left early in the morning, then looked at the emergency room sign of the hospital, stamped her feet and cried as she ran away.

There was no one around her to rely on, so she had no choice but to sign the document while crying, watched the child being pushed into the operating room while crying, and waited miserably outside the operating room while crying.

After waiting for an hour, she still had a little hope: the man probably went to the Wu family to get the money.

After waiting for two hours, she comforted herself: the man had no money and went to borrow some.

When daybreak came, she craned her neck to look outside, thinking: This man is definitely my relative. Even if he can't borrow the money, he should at least come and look after the child, right? Or, could someone from my in-laws come and check on me at daybreak?

However, there is none.

There wasn't a single ghost.

The child's operation was over and he was carried out on a stretcher by the nurse.

A small ball huddled on the surgical stretcher, his head covered with gauze, his whereabouts unknown.

Ding Lili looked at the doctor with red and swollen eyes: "Is he okay?"

The doctor said, "The operation was successful, but brain injuries usually leave sequelae. You should be prepared. We'll have to wait until he wakes up and then we'll see what happens."

At this moment, Ding Lili felt that she could no longer cry. She did not make a sound or say a word, but silently followed the child's stretcher to the ward.

There were not many people in the brain surgery ward except her child.

She sat beside the bed, watching over her motionless, pale-faced child, her mind blank.

I have no idea what to do.

They sat like this for a whole day, but there was no sign of Ma Jianhua. Ding Lili didn't have time to drink a sip of water or eat a bite of food, and the child didn't wake up, as if he was dead.

After sitting for another half a day, the nurse came and asked Ding Lili to go to the inpatient department to pay the additional money, saying that the deposit was not enough.

Ding Lili stood up in a daze, walked to the payment window, and asked, and was told that she had to pay three hundred.

Ding Lili: "Why does it cost 300? Isn't it reimbursed? His father is a worker in the capital, so he gets reimbursed!"

The cashier at the window gave her a glare and said, "Even if you need to be reimbursed, you have to pay first and then get reimbursed. How come you don't even understand this? You're crazy!"

Ding Lili couldn't make any more noise. She hadn't eaten properly for two days and she felt a little exhausted.

But there is not that much money.

The money from selling a stamp sounds like a lot, but renting a house, buying milk powder for the child, giving gifts to people at work so that she can get a less stressful job, all added up, she has already spent a lot, and now she needs three hundred, which she can't afford.

Ding Lili thought about it, and the first person she thought of was Yu Sui. In this city, it seemed that Yu Sui was the only one she could ask for help. After all, Yu Sui was the one who could return such expensive stamps to her.

She hurried out of the hospital and first arrived at Yu Sui's yard.

But the door of Yu Sui's house was locked. Ding Lili knocked on the door for a long time, her throat hoarse, but there was no one inside.

Instead, her neighbor came out and asked Ding Lili angrily, "Why are you shouting for so long? There's no one here!"

Ding Lili no longer cared about the other person's unfriendly attitude. She grabbed the person and asked, "Do you know where they went? I have something urgent to find them."

The neighbor avoided her like she was the plague: "Hey, don't pull me. Look at you, you are covered in blood. Who are you?"

"I..." Ding Lili looked down at her clothes.

She didn't even notice that there was such a large pool of blood on her clothes.

Oh, it turned out that the child had bleeding on the back of his head. The bleeding was left there after she held him in her arms. Unfortunately, the accident happened at night and she didn’t see it clearly. For so many days, she had no time to look at herself.

Is it easy for her?
