Chapter 107 Banquet 2

"Have you bought your tickets?"

"No, I'll buy it when I get there."

Seeing that she was still eating fruit, Mu Mingda reached out and took the plate away: "Eating this in the morning is not good for your health. I'll take you to have breakfast later."

Mu Ruanruan raised her hand to check the time: "No, it's too late."

"Haven't you bought your ticket yet? Just have breakfast. It's no later than midnight. Just be obedient."

Knowing she couldn't get away with it, she took Mu Mingda's arm and acted coquettishly: "Okay, then I want to eat Qingxiang Mansion's porridge."

"Okay, I hope you can come back today. I'll wait for you for dinner tonight."

"I'll try my best."

The father and daughter were getting ready to go out. Just as they were about to change their shoes at the door, they were stopped by their grandmother.

"Mingda, I'm going to buy groceries."

Mu Mingda was stunned for a moment and said, "Yes, Mom, please sit down for a while. I'll be back soon. What do you want to eat?"

Mu Ruanruan couldn't tell anyone about her visit to Qi Siji for the time being, as Mu Mingda was covering for her. Ye Qian had just come out of the room, and after taking one look at the father and daughter, she knew what they were planning.

He suppressed his laughter and shook his head.

Grandma waved to the two of them: "It's not busy, you two come over first."

"Mom, let's talk about it when I get back. Ruan Ruan is hungry."

Grandma pulled Mu Mingda to sit down. Mu Ruanruan didn't understand what was going on and sat down on the sofa with a bewildered look on her face.

"Ruan Ruan wants to drink Qingxiang Mansion's porridge? That's a coincidence. Do you remember Aunt Wang from the next street? The one who often came to our house back then? She has a nephew who is now studying for a master's degree at Kyoto University."

When talking about this graduate student, grandma's eyes lit up. Mu Ruanruan felt bad and quickly said, "Grandma, I'm so hungry. Why don't we go have breakfast first?"

"That's what grandma meant. I've already made an appointment with your Aunt Wang. You two should meet first and go have breakfast outside."

A blind date early in the morning?

"Grandma, no, I'm not ready yet."

"Isn't it ready? Hey? This little bag is pretty, you can carry it." Grandma picked up the pink little bag that Mu Ruanruan had just thrown on the sofa, put it on her back, and pushed her out: "Okay, there's nothing else to prepare, just like this."

Then he said to Mu Mingda, "What a coincidence! She's at Qingxiang Mansion. You can see her off. If you want, you can also have a meal with Ruan Ruan and the others."

Mu Mingda was stunned by his grandmother's action. He just said "Oh" and followed Mu Ruanruan to be pushed out.

"What about your breakfast?"

"Don't worry about this, just eat whatever you want at home. Ruanruan?" Grandma pointed to her lips.

Mu Ruanruan took out a small mirror and fixed the smudged lip gloss.

"Dad, how about we go buy some groceries?" It happened so suddenly that she was not prepared.

Mu Mingda sighed: "I'm afraid this matter cannot be concealed, but I do have a way."

"What's the solution?"

"Otherwise, after the New Year, you can join the class. I've already contacted our principal. You can join the class and make up for last semester's courses. Then you can take the exam with the next class."

After all, he still wanted her to go to school, and go to his university.

How desperate must she be to choose to study in her biological father's school.

"Is there no other way?"

"No. I have to go one way or the other, studying or starting a family."

But she doesn't want to go either way.

I walked into a restaurant and was led to a small private room on the second floor by the waiter.

The other party had arrived a long time ago and was drinking tea. When he saw her come in, he stood up to greet her with a lukewarm attitude.

Since she didn't want to come in the first place, Mu Ruanruan didn't even look at the other person's appearance. She only knew that he was tall, thin, and gentle.

He really looks like a student, and he seems to be wearing glasses.

After the two of them greeted each other briefly, Mu Ruanruan said nothing and looked at the scenery outside the window.

He didn't care and took the menu to order.

After ordering the dishes, he closed the menu and refilled Mu Ruanruan's tea.

"Were you forced?" he said, his voice pleasant, low and deep like a cello.

"Thanks."

Only then did she look at him. He was indeed a gentle man with fair skin, a gentle look, and delicate features without any aggressiveness.

His expression was calm, which didn't make her feel disgusted.

He just said "also", was he also forced?

"Their porridge is very good, but it's slow. Drink some water."

"Are you a graduate student? But I haven't even been to college." Mu Ruanruan's meaning was obvious. The two of them were not suitable for each other. There was too big a gap between them. There would be a generation gap, a cultural gap.

"Education isn't everything. I heard you've been in the countryside for over two years. You should have more experience and a broader perspective than I do."

It was she who was narrow-minded and embarrassed herself.

"She's just a country woman. She's been messing around for a few years, so she's not that knowledgeable."

"From your words and actions, she doesn't sound like the 'country woman' you mentioned. Besides, even if she is a country woman, who can say that she is necessarily ignorant?

There are many women who may have never been to school and have spent their entire lives farming on the land, but they still shine brightly.

Take the recent past, for example. Many women, barely out of middle school, have given up their comfortable lives in the city to devote themselves to rural development, becoming successful and famous throughout China.

The two chatted for a while.

She had originally wanted to say something extreme to hastily end their meeting, but she didn't expect it to trigger his lengthy rebuttals again and again.

It made her seem even more narrow-minded.

"Actually, you don't need to test me. There are thousands of different kinds of people in this world, and there are countless jobs and professions, and there will be even more. I, Gao Ci, never look down on any profession. In my eyes, people at the top of the building are no more superior than laborers in the fields."
