"Xiaowu has gone back. Now, it's time to deal with the matter between us."
"Then wait a moment."
She went to the bathroom and changed her clothes.
Dressed like this, I feel so insecure when talking to people, and my aura lacks.
Jiang He wanted to stop him, his lips moved, but he didn't say anything in the end.
After changing her clothes, she tied her hair up, looking much more capable.
"Go ahead."
"My relationship with the Xi family is based on a reason. I do know what they are thinking, and I walked into their trap of my own accord. However, Ruan Ruan, I have my reasons."
He continued, "I can't tell you the reason for this, but you have to believe me. I never thought about breaking up, and you never said you wanted to break up with me at that time. In my heart, we are still boyfriend and girlfriend."
"I know you went through a painful experience that night, and I wasn't there. I apologize to you for this. I'm sorry, Ruan Ruan, you can punish me however you want."
On TV, the young wife and Uncle Jun were kissing.
The scene was a bit awkward, and she subconsciously looked for the remote control to turn off the TV.
Jiang He was also looking over here.
The lighting in the room was already a little dim, with only a small tungsten filament bulb.
She fumbled around on the bed for a long time before she remembered that this was a black and white TV series and where did the remote control come from.
She slapped her head angrily, stood up and wanted to turn off the TV, but Jiang He was standing behind her without her knowing.
He knew what she was going to do and had already turned off the TV.
The room was a little dark and the air was very quiet.
Mu Ruanruan found the switch cord and turned on the light.
Jiang He closed the door silently again.
"What are you doing?" Mu Ruanruan was a little angry. When she was pulling the wire, she used electricity and the wire broke, but fortunately the light was still on.
At worst, I can just leave the lights on tonight and ask an electrician to connect the wires for her tomorrow.
Jiang He stepped back a little, leaving some space for Mu Ruanruan. He looked unhappy as he squinted at the light bulb and pinched his forehead with his hand.
"Haven't we already discussed our business?" Mu Ruanruan spoke up to break the awkwardness.
Jiang He looked a little tired, with bloodshot eyes, and sat down on her bed.
Mu Ruanruan pulled a stool for him and said, "Sit here."
He sat down on the stool obediently again, still like a primary school student, sitting straight with his hands on his knees.
A faint smell of alcohol came with his breathing.
He also said he didn't drink much.
She really didn't want to talk to him about what happened between them. After so many years, they could put aside their past grudges without saying a few words and get along like nothing happened.
Besides, they had just talked about it, and she hoped he could give her some time to calm down.
I didn't expect this person to be so impatient.
"You go back first, sober up, and we'll talk tomorrow, okay?"
It's not good to be too fussy with a drunkard. Seeing that he couldn't help but droop his head, Mu Ruanruan guessed that he was quite drunk.
Sure enough, he pursed his lips and said, "No. You won't pay attention to me tomorrow."
"So what do you want to talk about?"
Jiang He looked at Mu Ruanruan blankly, as if he didn't know what to say at all.
He was clearly awake when he first came in, so why is he confused now?
"How much did you drink?"
"One, one bottle." He pointed with one finger.
"A bottle? Beer?"
He shook his head.
"Liquor?"
He shook his head again.
"Oh, you still drink red wine."
He smiled sheepishly, nodded, and made a gesture to keep quiet.
Mu Ruanruan found it funny. He was staying in her room like this and still wanted to talk to her?
But since she could still answer questions, she didn't mind asking a few questions just for the sake of courtesy.
"When did you start working here?"
Jiang He seemed not to have heard. His head nodded and his eyes seemed to be about to close, but he still tried his best to sit up straight.
Mu Ruanruan softened her heart a little.
In fact, she has been deliberately avoiding things related to him for so many years.
Even though so many things have happened, she will still feel soft-hearted when she faces him again. In her heart, this person will always be Jiang He from Shangshui Village who didn't have enough to eat but stubbornly gave her money.
Although some things happened that caused the two of them not to be together.
But she still didn't blame him.
Just because of Shangshui Village and the warmth he had given her, she couldn't hate him.
Over the years, she seemed to have never understood him and had no idea what he was thinking.
Somehow, she felt that he had her in his heart, but she still couldn't believe it.
Seeing that he didn't say anything, Mu Ruanruan asked the question again and shook his shoulders to make him sober up.
"Well, a year ago."
Xiao He also said it was a year ago.
"Did you know I was coming here?" she asked again.
Jiang He shook his head dazedly.
She still didn't give up, and asked in a different way: "So, does my coming here have anything to do with you?"
He still shook his head.
Well, I don’t know whether he really doesn’t know or is just pretending to be drunk.
She pointed at herself and asked him, "Then look up, who am I?"
Jiang He didn't respond.
Mu Ruanruan lifted his chin and asked him to look up at her. "Tell me, who am I?"
He laughed foolishly for a while, looking silly, and said with a grin, "My wife."
After saying that, he reached out and hugged her.
She pushed him away. He was drunk and his reaction was slow. With just a slight push, he fell backwards with his arms and legs spread out.
She tried to pull it, but failed and fell into a heap.
