Mu Ruanruan walked towards Wang Yue'e's house carrying a bowl.
The rain was lighter, but still drizzling, just not as heavy as before.
Wang Yue'e took the bowl and smiled brightly. Mu Ruanruan was in a hurry to go to class, so the two of them didn't plan to chat much.
However, Wang Yue'e had a very sensitive nose and asked Mu Ruanruan: "Mu, what's that smell on you? It smells so good."
"Oh, the smell of soap. I just ran into Lili and she wanted to borrow some soap from me."
Wang Yue'e was startled, a little worried, and asked Mu Ruanruan: "Is it Sun Lili who lives with Qiu Mei? Did you run into her just now?"
"Yes, they both don't have work today. If it's all right, I'll leave first. Auntie, I'm in a hurry to go to class and will be late soon."
"Okay, go ahead. Be careful on the road."
As Wang Yue'e turned and walked into the house, she was still muttering, "Why did I run into Sun Lili?"
After such a long delay, when Mu Ruanruan arrived at the school, most of the students were already there and were studying aloud.
She folded her umbrella and prepared to go upstairs when she saw another green umbrella coming from the playground. One of the limbs was broken and drooping, and it was bulging towards the school.
Mu Ruanruan thought it was a parent passing by, but unexpectedly it was Jiang He.
Before his face appeared, Mu Ruanruan recognized him just by his posture and gait.
As I got closer, I saw that it was indeed Jiang He carrying Jiang Xiaotao on his back, with his trouser legs rolled up high, and stepping into the water towards us.
It was too late for Mu Ruanruan to turn around and pretend not to see it.
"Good morning, Teacher Mu." Jiang Xiaotao greeted her as soon as he saw her.
"Good morning, Xiao Tao."
Jiang He put Jiang Xiaotao down. He had lost his temper for no reason last night. Mu Ruanruan didn't want to talk to Jiang He at the moment, so she pulled Jiang Xiaotao upstairs quickly.
Jiang He stood downstairs for a long time before slowly walking into the rain with an umbrella.
He knew it was going to rain early this morning. The rain was getting heavier, so he thought he probably wouldn't be able to go to work in the morning. He had planned to get up early to send Jiang Xiaotao off, but he got up too late.
Last night, Jiang He tossed and turned in bed and couldn't sleep all night.
All because of the little girl's words: "Brother Jiang He, you cook it next time."
This sentence made him stunned and unable to move, but when he came to his senses, he thought that the little girl might not have meant that.
She explained again and said that they were just having a meal together.
Does she often dine alone with a man at night?
She brought a bunch of things over, and they cooked and ate together, just for the heck of it. Was she wary at all, or did she think she was really a good person?
He was really angry at that time and wanted to have a good talk with her about the relationship between men and women, but the girl obviously didn't want to listen to him anymore and stuffed an egg into his mouth, blocking the words he was about to say.
That night, he ate two eggs in one go, and the little girl didn't eat a single bite.
The decision that had already been made was shaken at that moment.
The little girl was so young and innocent that she didn't even understand such things. She just had that kind of thing with him in a daze, and she tried her best to make up for it afterwards.
He felt like a beast for having such thoughts, but the little girl's actions were really...
Jiang He was struggling internally, afraid that revealing too much would scare her, so he quickly let the girl go back.
It was dark at night and the little girl was alone, feeling unsafe in the dark, so he followed her out, following her all the way, listening to her mumbling and cursing him all the way.
"Jiang He, you bastard, idiot, son of a bitch."
"You actually kicked me out! How infuriating! Jiang He, I'm telling you, if it happens again, I won't make braised pork for you."
"Well, I ate too much. My stomach feels so uncomfortable."
She was so angry that she called him by his full name, angrily.
He listened all the way.
The little girl is a truly good person, innocent and naive. After she said she would compensate him, she really tried every possible way to give him things, which often made him feel a little romantic in his heart, but he eventually suppressed it.
She was like a Tianshan snow lotus, noble and beautiful. How could a peasant like him touch her?
He had forgotten to take her cookbook, and he had been looking through it all night, but every dish on it was new to him.
He wanted to cook every dish for her.
That book was different from all the books he had ever seen. It was colorful, with very thick paper that felt extremely smooth. It must be very expensive.
The little girl is so good, we should use the best of everything.
And that hundred yuan, so much money, he gave it to her without blinking an eye.
I feel shameless to touch a little girl like this, but I can't bear to let go.
He was thinking in his mind how to make more money and how to be worthy of her.
Jiang He thought about it all night, tossing and turning, sometimes looking at the recipe, sometimes thinking with his eyes closed. Finally, he couldn't sleep, so he got up to study.
He took out an iron box from under the table and opened it. There were several textbooks inside, some of which were left by Jiang Xiaotao, some were picked up from elsewhere, as well as half a notebook and a small piece of pencil.
Among them, there was a piece of snow-white paper with a very uneven edge on one side and many traces of being ravaged. Although it was now pressed very flat, the traces of wrinkles were still very eye-catching.
There were some words written on the paper, which were elegant and graceful. There were not many words, only two lines. It could be inferred that the owner of the paper must have written a paragraph and found that he had made a mistake, so he tore it up and crumpled it into a ball.
He carefully stroked the paper and copied the words on it over and over again.
