Chapter 39 Misunderstanding

Mu Ruanruan didn't expect him to ask her this question, nor did she expect him to ask it so directly.

She didn't know how to answer, or more accurately, she hadn't thought about the question at all.

"What exactly do you think of me?" he asked again.

The question was more direct.

She suddenly regretted letting him eat noodles. If she had known that he would just stay hungry, he would start thinking about random things after eating. How could she answer him if he was so serious?

Mu Ruanruan turned her head to look at a blade of grass next to her and paused for a long time, feeling that his fiery gaze had never moved away.

"You should eat your fill first."

Mu Ruanruan handed over another pancake, but she still stared at the grass and didn't look at Jiang He.

The pancake was taken.

"I'm done. Can I answer now?"

Mu Ruanruan handed over another bun.

soon.

"I've finished eating the buns, can I answer now?"

She handed him another egg.

He didn't answer.

"Don't dare to answer?"

The air suddenly became quiet and awkwardness began to spread.

At this time, Mu Ruanruan was even more embarrassed to turn her head, but her neck was getting more and more sore, to the point where she had to move.

She simply turned around, wanting to slow down and then leave.

Jiang He didn't say anything.

Mu Ruanruan didn't know what he was doing and didn't seem to be looking at her.

She slowly began to adjust her posture, preparing to get up.

"It's getting late, I want to go back," she said.

Mu Ruanruan's arm was pulled, and her body fell in the direction of the force, and then sat back on the mat. If he had exerted a little more force, she would have fallen into his arms.

"Is it difficult to say?" He had no intention of letting her go. No matter what method she used, she could not escape this time.

Because he pulled her, Mu Ruanruan now sat closer to him. The two of them were face to face, and Mu Ruanruan could feel Jiang He's gentle breath.

I don’t know if crying now will be of any use.

Her mind was in a mess and she really didn't know where to start.

"Is it so difficult to answer?" Jiang He stared into her eyes.

"Is it so difficult to judge whether you have feelings for someone or whether you like him or not?"

Mu Ruanruan: "No."

"What is that?"

He insisted on getting an answer from Mu Ruanruan today, but Mu Ruanruan really didn't know what to say, and her heart was in turmoil.

"Can I not answer?"

"Why don't you want to answer?" His eyes were aggressive. He grabbed Mu Ruanruan's arms and forced her to look at him, leaving her no chance to avoid him.

"Tell me, in your heart, who am I to you?"

"do you like me?"

Isn't this era quite conservative?

What was going on in his mind that he would ask her such a direct question.

She couldn't even say she didn't hate it, let alone the word "like". The system would never let her say it.

"I like it." She said, and was indeed blocked.

Mu Ruanruan breathed a sigh of relief, as if she had an impeccable reason to face his coercion. Although she couldn't say it, she could finally convince herself.

"What did you say?" he stammered.

"ah?"

She didn't say anything. Wasn't what she just said blocked by the system?

Jiang He actually let go of her arm, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised.

Is he laughing?

"If that's the case, then it's a deal," he said.

"What's settled?"

What was agreed upon? How come she doesn’t know?

"nothing."

Jiang He took the egg from Mu Ruanruan, peeled it in a few seconds, put it directly into his mouth, chewed it a few times and swallowed it.

Forget it, Mu Ruanruan didn't ask any more questions. As long as he stopped forcing her, everything would be fine.

This matter had always been a secret hidden in Jiang He's heart. He didn't tell her until many years later when Mu Ruanruan mentioned it by chance.

"Silly boy, even though I have no voice, I have eyes."

Yes, although the sound is blocked, the lip shape can still be read.

Mu Ruanruan said "like" at that time. Jiang He didn't hear it, but he saw it clearly.

The two sat for a while.

Jiang He stood up and asked her if she could leave.

Mu Ruanruan nodded and said yes.

He carried the bags on his back, supported Mu Ruanruan, pushed the bicycle, and moved forward slowly.

Mu Ruanruan's leg injury was actually not serious. As long as she walked slowly, there would be no problem. So she opened his hand and wanted to walk by herself.

He didn't insist and walked ahead pushing his bicycle.

He was very tall, at least 1.85 meters, more than half a head taller than her.

Mu Ruanruan looked at his back, and at the bundles of varying sizes slung across his broad shoulders, like small hills.

"Jiang He."

Jiang He stopped and said, "I'm here."

"I want to discuss something with you."

"you say."

"Well, we're almost at the village entrance. Can we..."

"Separately?"

Mu Ruanruan nodded and said that she was afraid of gossip or felt guilty, anyway, she didn't want others to see her and Jiang He being so close.

But the baggage...

"Let me put it at the door for you."

There was a doorman at the door of the educated youth dormitory, but there was no one guarding it. There was nothing valuable in her bag anyway, so she agreed.

Originally, she could have been placed in the space, but Jiang He didn't know about this and would certainly not feel comfortable with her limping, pushing a bicycle and carrying so many bags.

Without following Mu Ruanruan's footsteps, Jiang He took a big step forward and soon disappeared around the corner.
