Mu Ruanruan thought Jiang He was saying that she had some opinion about him, so she quickly explained that she actually had no opinion about him at all.
I told him several times not to misunderstand.
"Mu Ruanruan." Jiang He called her.
"Yeah, I'm here."
"Has anyone ever told you that you're really slow?"
"ah?"
Are you slow?
It should be okay. Everyone praises her for being smart.
Jiang He didn't say anything else, but looked up into the distance, not knowing what he was thinking. Mu Ruanruan just stared at him.
In the afternoon, the sun was not as strong as before.
Jiang He's skin has become much whiter, with a faint feeling of cold white skin. The wind and sun have left no traces on his face.
Her eyebrows were still straight and green, her nose was like a hanging gall bladder, and her lips were still stained with water because she had just drunk water, and they were sparkling and smooth.
Mu Ruanruan just stared at him, and even when he turned his head to look at her, she did not look away.
He looked back at her and suddenly sighed: "Forget it, why bother with you."
Mu Ruanruan smiled foolishly.
It wasn't that she didn't know about it. Even if she didn't know, he had told her about it. But she really couldn't respond to him.
"Have you eaten?" he asked.
"You're not angry anymore?"
Jiang He: "When did I get angry?"
"Well, I'm hungry." Mu Ruanruan said, "But I brought my own food, how about you heat it up for me?"
"You are good at ordering people around." He took the lunch box but did not heat up the food.
"Don't eat it if it's cold."
He walked out with his lunch box and turned right, which was the direction of Jiang Lan's kitchen.
Mu Ruanruan didn't act pretentiously. She took out some fruit from her bag, picked out the largest apple, held it in her hand, and followed.
When she entered the kitchen, Jiang He was grabbing rice.
"There's no need to cook the rice. Just heat it up for me later." She stopped him from grabbing the rice.
"Are you so reluctant to part with this box of leftovers?"
"This isn't leftovers. I haven't eaten it yet. It's just cold."
He glanced at Mu Ruanruan, said nothing more, and put the rice washing basin aside.
Mu Ruanruan handed the apple to him. He looked at her deeply, took it, scooped water to wash it clean, then broke it in half with his bare hands and handed half back to her.
Mu Ruanruan took it and watched him bite the other half directly into his mouth. Without stopping, he opened the cabinet and brought out a bowl of red meat.
He held the meat in one hand and the apple in the other, taking big bites.
He put the meat down and went to get the seasoning. By the time the seasoning was ready, he had finished half the apple and both hands were busy.
She was a little curious about what delicious food Jiang He would cook for her, so she leaned over to take a look at what he was chopping on the chopping board behind his back.
She had just leaned over to look when he stopped.
Mu Ruanruan looked at him suspiciously: "Did it bother you?"
Jiang He: "Stand back a little, it will splash on you."
Mu Ruanruan didn't step back, but moved closer to his back: "What kind of meat is this red meat?"
"Haven't you eaten it?"
Mu Ruanruan couldn't remember.
Jiang He: "Then think about it again."
After chopping the meat and preparing the onions, ginger, garlic and other ingredients, Jiang He started to boil water and wash the pot.
Seeing that he had no intention of picking chili peppers, Mu Ruanruan asked, "Don't you need to add chili peppers? Rabbit meat needs to be spicy to be tasty."
Jiang He turned to look at her: "Do you remember?"
He started adding more wood to make the fire burn brighter: "You don't eat spicy food, why put chili peppers?"
He actually realized that I don't eat spicy food.
Mu Ruanruan pretended to go collect firewood and didn't respond.
Jiang He knew that she was trying to escape, so he didn't force her anymore.
"Watch out for the fire," he told her as he stood up.
Mu Ruanruan stood up and moved the stool closer so that she could see the fire in the stove.
The fire was burning very strongly and the pot was very red. Jiang He poured some oil into the pot and put the green onion, ginger and garlic into the pot to stir-fry. Then he put the meat in and started stir-frying. After a few stir-fries, Mu Ruanruan smelled the aroma of meat.
"Your craftsmanship is quite good."
"From a very young age, adults had to go out to work, and I was responsible for cooking. At the beginning, I didn't know how to cook. The first time I cooked, I was not even as tall as the stove. I moved a stool, and when I poured the oil, I couldn't hold the oil pot steadily and it fell directly."
"And then?"
"The pot was red hot, and there was some water on the oil bottle. Suddenly, there was a crackling sound. I never knew it was so painful to be splashed with oil. But the oil bottle had to be taken out. I was too young and inexperienced. I didn't know how to get some firewood first, but I didn't dare to get close. As I was hesitant, the pot caught fire..."
When it came to the number of times, Jiang He stopped.
Mu Ruanruan was curious about his affairs, so how could she stop now that she had started?
"What happened next? What happened next?"
"Want to know?"
"Give me that bowl."
Mu Ruanruan stood up to get the bowl and handed it to him.
"What would the average person do if they saw a fire?"
"Put out the fire with water?"
"Yes, I quickly scooped up some water and poured it into the pot. But there was too much oil, and the water made it fry even more fiercely. I panicked and wanted to go out and call for help, but there was no one around. I thought, if I can't handle it, what if the fire starts and burns down the house? So I went back to the kitchen and planned to pour more water.
Fortunately, the fire was finally put out, but the oil was gone, splattered everywhere, and couldn't be refilled. Fearing a beating, I ran away and hid in the mountains.
"Did you get beaten?"
"you guess?"
