Chapter 307: Tang's Mother Shows Weakness

When they arrived at the provincial capital, Tang Meilan actually saw Tang's mother at the exit.

She thought she was hallucinating because she had been sitting in the car for too long.

It wasn't until Tang's mother came forward and pulled her sleeve that she realized it was real! It wasn't an illusion!

"Mom." Tang Meilan shouted.

"Well, you're back. Let's go. The ingredients at home are ready. We can just go back and fry them and eat." After saying that, Tang's mother took the things in Tang Meilan's hand away.

Tang Meilan was a little at a loss. She looked at Tang Ci and asked if she should follow.

"Let's go, let's go see what's going on first. If something doesn't go right, we'll leave immediately." Tang Ci was also puzzled, but they were still outside. If he started the fight right away, they might start arguing again.

Tang Meilan suppressed her curiosity and followed. The child was already held by his father's hand.

Walking one after the other, this was a rare time for the family to spend time together in harmony in the past six months.

"Brother Tang Ci, sister-in-law, you're back. Drink some hot water to warm yourself up."

As soon as Tang Meilan entered the door, she was greeted by Bai Weiwei's brilliant smile. She paused slightly, and the couple tacitly did not enter the house.

"Come in, she's just a tenant of our house, she won't be a problem." Tang's father invited Tang Ci and Tang Meilan in.

It was a foregone conclusion that Tang Ci's family would move out. The empty room would just sit there anyway, so it might as well be rented out to earn some living expenses.

As for why she rented it to Bai Weiwei, that was a decision made by Tang's mother, and it was also the condition she agreed to make peace with Tang's father.

Tang's father felt that living with Tang Ci and the others again was unlikely, so he agreed to this request. He only hoped that these younger generations would come back more often in the future, and he would be satisfied.

"Weiwei, I'll call you when the meal is ready. Go inside." Seeing that Tang Meilan and her husband had not come in yet, Tang's father urged Bai Weiwei to go back to the house.

Bai Weiwei responded obediently and went back to the house.

This action shocked Tang Meilan!

"Let's go, wife, let's go in and take a look first." Tang Ci took Tang Meilan's hand and walked in.

The two children, perhaps because they had not been home for a long time, sat on the stools very stiffly, looking in the direction of Tang Meilan.

"Meilan, your mother has realized her mistakes. Please give her another chance. The harm she caused you in the past can't be undone, so now I want to make it up to you as much as possible. Dad doesn't ask you to be as open-hearted to us as before, but I just hope you can come back often to visit us old couple and have a meal together as a family. Is that okay with you?"

Over the past half month, thanks to Tang's father's tireless efforts, Tang's mother's heart has been shaken. This time, when they went to the train station to pick someone up, she even offered to go with them.

Tang's father wanted to take this opportunity to let everyone put aside their grudges and at least not avoid each other again.

"Dad, I can only say that I will try my best."

Tang Meilan didn't know how to respond. It was impossible for her to really let go of the grudge.

But Tang's mother had already bowed her head, and as a junior, she would seem petty if she continued to hold on to it.

"Well, that's enough. It's enough that you are willing to give your mother a chance. You guys go ahead and do it. I'll go to the kitchen to help your mother cook."

Tang's father rolled up his sleeves and walked into the kitchen, leaving the family of four in the living room.

"Wife, when has Dad ever gone into the kitchen to work?" This was the first time Tang Ci had seen him do this since he was a child.

In his impression, Tang's father was the kind of man who had never done housework. If they didn't collect the bowls of rice, they would leave them on the table for a whole day.

Tang Meilan laughed out loud, not knowing what she was thinking about. She asked, "What's wrong with Dad going into the kitchen? Or do you think men shouldn't go into the kitchen and just sit at the dining table and wait for dinner to be served?"

She had actually seen Tang's father go into the kitchen to work.

But every time he did it secretly, as if he was doing something shameful.

At first she didn't understand why this was happening.

It wasn't until she visited her neighbor that she was awakened by what her neighbor said.

Because in today's era, the saying "men are women's world" is popular. Many women have been brainwashed since childhood, saying that when men work outside all day, they should serve them well. They should bring food to them and water cups to their mouths, and treat them like ancestors.

If Tang's father openly helps his wife with housework, others will say that he is henpecked, a coward, and is useless, being ordered around by a woman... Tang's father cannot resist the trend of the times, and feels sorry for his wife, so he will lend a hand secretly.

Tang Ci quickly waved his hands, his head shaking like a rattle. "That's not what I meant. I'm just surprised. I often do laundry and cook at home, and I don't think there's anything wrong with a man entering the kitchen."

The answer, full of desire to survive, immediately pleased Tang Meilan.

"I'm not talking about you. Just look after the kids. I'll go to the kitchen to help my parents."

Tang Meilan skillfully tied on an apron and walked towards the kitchen.

After the meal was ready, Bai Weiwei packed up the rice and dishes and went back to the house. She was very considerate.

There were only members of the Tang family at the dinner table, and the atmosphere was quite harmonious.

Tang's mother gave both chicken legs to Tang Meilan. Although she didn't say anything to apologize, her actions were already an apology.

Tang Meilan accepted everything and picked up two pieces of chicken breast for her mother.

Gradually, the children relaxed and life seemed to return to normal.

"Xiao Ci, take the chickens away." Tang's father put two chicks in a bamboo cage. "I'm old, and it's not very convenient for me to go out on rainy days, so I caught your chicks and raised them together. Now that you're back, take them back."

"Well, Dad, we'll leave first. Mom, we'll go back and come to see you when we have time." Tang Ci took the bamboo basket. At this time, his body was already full of luggage and other belongings.
