Chapter 353 Death is a relief

A gentle breeze blows the treetops.

Cheng Fangqin tiptoed into her mother-in-law's room.

"You damn old woman, you're still eating so well even though you have one foot in the coffin. You don't even think about your future generations." Cheng Fangqin complained indignantly while looking at the half-eaten roast chicken.

"You have so much bacon, and you still have the nerve to cry poor."

There was a flash of anger in Cheng Fangqin's eyes.

The old lady complained about having no oil or food at home the day before yesterday, so she ran to her and asked her for ten dollars.

At first she was unwilling to give it, and the old woman started to throw a tantrum.

The whole alley knew she was a vicious daughter-in-law, and many neighbors closed their doors when they saw her from afar.

She worked so hard for this family, spending every penny three times, but she never got a good word from the old woman.

I can't bear to throw away clothes even when they turn white.

He was reluctant to eat the meat he bought, just so that his son could have a few more bites.

What he got in return was being deserted by everyone and becoming infamous.

"Humph, old woman, you forced me to do this. You and your son forced me to do this together."

Cheng Fangqin poured half a bag of medicine powder into the pot, picked up a small half stick and started stirring it, which gradually turned milky white.

Then he walked straight to the house where the old woman lived.

During this time, he accidentally kicked the threshold of the room.

Fortunately, the old woman always slept soundly and had poor hearing, otherwise she would have been discovered long ago.

Pah--

The old woman was very clever. There was an enamel bowl behind the door. When she opened the door, the enamel bowl fell to the ground and broke into two pieces.

"Who is it?" The old woman hurriedly sat up and prepared to look for the cord of the light.

"Who are you, you little thief? If you don't leave, I'll call for help." The old woman threatened.

What a heartless person. He saw that she was the only old woman living there, so he broke into her house and stole things. Even if she had no children or grandchildren, she would never be able to get rid of the hatred in her heart for such a person.

Soon the lights came on -

Cheng Fangqin hid in the dark. She knew that she could not feed the old woman the water with added ingredients, otherwise she would settle the score with her when she woke up.

Her eyes accidentally caught sight of the old woman's cotton coat, and an evil idea formed in her mind.

While the old woman was getting out of bed and putting on her clothes, Cheng Fangqin quickly covered her face and pressed hard on her mouth and nose.

The old woman struggled for only a moment before she became motionless.

Cheng Fangqin was worried, so she waited for a few more minutes before slowly letting go of her hand.

She realized it belatedly and stepped back suddenly, bumping into the wardrobe with a bang. The intense pain came over her and tears welled up in her eyes.

"I didn't mean to do that. I really didn't mean to. Who told you to wake up so soon? If you had slept quietly until tomorrow, nothing would have happened." Cheng Fangqin didn't dare to lift the cotton coat covering the old woman's face.

The next second, Cheng Fangqin said with a grim expression, "Go ahead and die. Your son is such a loser, and it's painful for you to live in this world. Death will be a relief."

As the saying goes, if you don't do anything wrong, you don't have to worry about ghosts knocking on your door.

Cheng Fangqin seemed to be apologizing, but in fact she was comforting herself.

The atmosphere suddenly became quiet.

Cheng Fangqin stared at the old woman's corpse for a long time.

Thump—thump—thump—

It's twelve o'clock, and the heavy wall clock strikes on time.

Cheng Fangqin was so frightened that she screamed, not knowing whose dog she had woken up. The dog's barking was particularly harsh in the empty night, and Cheng Fangqin was so scared that she hurriedly pulled the rope to turn off the lights.

The dog was scolded by its owner and the barking gradually stopped.

Cheng Fangqin woke up as if from a dream, lit a lighter and rummaged through the drawers in the house.

As she found more and more things, Cheng Fangqin no longer felt the guilt she had before.

"I was wondering, you cry poor every day but don't lose weight, and your complexion is getting rosier day by day. It turns out you secretly hid three boxes of small yellow croakers." Cheng Fangqin showed greed on her face. It didn't matter. No matter how much she hid, it was all hers now.

"Bah, you even embezzled my dowry. Your family deserves to be in decline." Cheng Fangqin carefully wiped the big gold bracelet that her mother gave her as a dowry. She thought her husband had taken the bracelet to pay off his gambling debts, and the couple even had a fight over it.

In the end, it was her man who swore that if he took the bracelet, he would lose money every day.

Losing is a big taboo for a gambler, so Cheng Fangqin finally gave up.

Who knew that the one who caused the two to fight was this dead old woman.

Cheng Fangqin searched the old woman's house from top to bottom and wrapped up all the valuables with a piece of rag.

Then Cheng Fangqin found thirty yuan and several bills in the secret pocket of the old woman's underwear.

Noodles, oil, rice, roast chicken and bacon were all left in their original places.

It’s not that Cheng Fangqin didn’t add meat, but she wanted to disguise the scene of the old woman’s natural death.

"Old lady, I'm just taking back what belongs to me. If you want to blame someone, blame your disappointing son. He has lost all the glory and wealth of your later life." Cheng Fangqin murmured as she looked at the motionless old lady.

Then he slipped away under the cover of night.

Cheng Fangqin was still a little scared when she returned home.

She didn't even remember whether she had taken away the cotton coat covering the old woman's face.

"Don't blame me. Why should you blame me? You're a whole family of black-hearted bastards, sucking my blood like leeches. I'm just taking back what's rightfully mine. What's wrong with that?"

"Yes, don't blame me."

Cheng Fangqin walked back and forth in the room of about ten square meters.

After calming down, Cheng Fangqin looked at the "stolen money" in a dilemma.

She was worried that the old woman's secret would be discovered at dawn, and the things in her hands would be like a time bomb. But if she sold them in such a short time, she would most likely be ripped off, and the loss would outweigh the gain.
