Chapter 12 Liu Wen's family was beaten

Just then, Grandma Su came out carrying the last soup dish and happened to hear this.

This infuriated the old lady, who rushed forward and grabbed Mrs. Liu.

"Get the hell out of here, you're not welcome here."

The mean old woman wasn't one to be trifled with either. "You old hag, you won't even let people talk about you? What are you doing here pretending to be some worthless bastard you picked up from who-knows-where?"

"I don't know where you stole all these nice things from, what are you pretending to be so extravagant about?"

It can only be said that Liu Wen's mother was stupid, because in her own village, basically no one wanted to argue with her.

So whenever they argue, the other person just goes home because they don't want to say anything more to this unreasonable old lady.

Old Mrs. Liu didn't think so. She assumed that everyone in the village was afraid of her, so she naturally put on airs.

The villagers, of course, couldn't stand it either. "Get out! We don't welcome you in our village. You come to someone else's house for a meal and don't even say a few words of blessing. You're empty-handed, and you're being so unreasonable."

"Of course! Do you really think our Peach Willow Village is easy to bully?"

"Yeah, that old woman is stupid too. If she sees food, she should just bury her head and eat. Even food can't shut her up from spewing filth."

The old lady listened as everyone took turns criticizing her.

But at this moment, she didn't think she had done anything wrong. She was just a worthless piece of trash that someone else had picked up, and she was treating it like a treasure.

What kind of year is this? When every household is short of food and clothing, their family can still hold a grand banquet.

And with so many meat dishes on the table, it's possible that the money was obtained through some shady dealings.

Grandma Su was really furious at this point, "Eldest brother, second brother, third brother, go and beat that brat of his to death!"

The three Su brothers, who were called upon, immediately stood up and dragged Liu Wen out the door.

Soon, Liu Wen's desperate pleas for mercy could be heard from outside the door.

Grandma Su was crying in the yard, and Liu Wen was crying outside the yard.

Su Muyao watched the show with amusement.

I had heard about the funny pose of an old woman in the countryside clapping her hands while sitting on the ground in my previous life, but I had never actually seen it.

This time I really got to feast my eyes.

Suddenly, Grandma Liu jumped up and tried to rush towards the table in front of her.

Seeing her posture, Su Muyao thought to herself, "This is bad, Grandpa, stop her quickly!"

Old Man Su swiftly pulled Old Lady Liu aside.

Trying to ruin her granddaughter's first birthday party was practically suicide, so Old Mrs. Su rolled up her sleeves.

He slapped Old Mrs. Liu's face several times.

Soon, Mrs. Liu's face swelled up high, and the bright red handprint was particularly obvious.

"Ouch! Ouch! I can't live anymore!"

"We must report this to the authorities and have all of you bad people arrested."

The more she talked, the harder Grandma Su hit her. "Fu Bao is our family's most beloved little darling, not the kind of money-losing child you're talking about."

"You son of a bitch, you're a money-loser yourself, so you're saying everyone else is too."

She thinks everyone else is a thief just because she tells her son to steal petty things every day. Pah!

"You shameless old hag, I'll beat you to death today!"

Grandma Liu wanted to fight back, but she was no match for Grandma Su, who had been working in the fields all year round.

When Grandma Liu's grandson saw his grandmother being beaten like this, he was stunned at first, but then he came to his senses and started tearing at Grandma Su.

After kicking and hitting him a couple of times, Xibao and the others pulled him aside, and the boys started punching the kid with their soft little fists.

The little child, who had been pampered by his grandmother since childhood, had never experienced such a loss and burst into tears.

Grandma Liu was terrified; that was her precious darling, whom she cherished dearly.

Now she's being beaten by several kids. If something serious happens to her, will she even survive?

"Stop! All of you stop! We're leaving now, we're leaving now."

Grandma Su heard the answer she wanted to hear, and seeing that the beating had gone on enough, she said to her sons outside the door, "Alright, let them get out of here."

Seeing that they had really stopped, Grandma Liu then took her grandson and limped towards the door.

As she left the Su family's gate, she uttered a harsh threat: "You all just wait and see."

Grandma Su made a move to walk towards her again, but Grandma Liu, seeing that things were not going well, immediately pulled her grandson away quickly.

On the way back, he told his son, "You're doing pretty well in town, aren't you? See if you can find a few thugs to teach their family a lesson."

Liu Wen said that it's really not possible for the time being.

Putting aside the fact that he doesn't have the money to bribe anyone, his position doesn't even qualify him to say anything to those above him.

After the annoying family left, Old Man Su smiled and said to everyone, "Let's begin the feast. Eat and drink well."

Grandma Su was afraid that Fu Bao might have some kind of trauma, so she quickly hugged Fu Bao and comforted her.

"Our precious baby is the best treasure, don't listen to other people's nonsense."

Moreover, our precious baby is blessed with parents and is not the kind of "money-losing child" they say he is. Don't take it to heart; they are bad people.

Su Muyao naturally didn't take it to heart and quickly nodded. "Grandma, I know they are all bad people, so you can't believe what bad people say."

"My darling is so smart. Come here, Grandma will give you some meat."

Little Fu Bao ate with gusto, his mouth dripping with oil, as Grandma Su fed him bite by bite.

The other villagers at the table did the same; after a whirlwind meal, quite a few meat dishes were left on the table. In fact, this was something that Old Mrs. Su did on purpose.

The hope is that they can pack some leftovers to take home. As for the wild boar meat they got, it's obvious they'll save it for the Lunar New Year.

Thinking about how much meat they had, they felt they should share some with them.

But it's not appropriate to just give it back to them, since it's already been distributed before.

If we continue to divide the spoils, what will happen if our family gets something and we don't share it with the villagers? Wouldn't that give them something to talk about?

That's when I came up with this idea. Normally, this is how banquets are held; any leftover food can be packed up and taken home.

But when farmers hold banquets, how can there be a time when there's not enough food to go around?

Now almost every table has a lot of food left over, and the farmers are all very full.

Grandma Su then said to the villagers, "Everyone must take home any leftovers, no waste!"

"How could that be? My sister-in-law is a peasant; she would never waste food."

Yes, yes, yes.

Immediately afterwards, everyone was in harmony, and each person took some home with their own bowl.

With this bowl of meat and vegetables, they could easily make a meal for the whole family in the evening by simply adding some cornbread.

In fact, the villagers all understood that the reason for making such a large quantity was so that they could take some home after eating it.

After all, in rural areas, only one or two people from each family will attend a banquet, and at most, the most shameless ones will bring a couple more children.

It must be heartbreaking for a family with so many members to be unable to enjoy good food and drink while their family members continue to eat meager meals.

Fortunately, the Su family is kind and righteous.
