Chapter 5 First Encounter with the White Wolf

Early in the morning, Grandma Su and Grandpa Su were whispering to each other in their room.

As the two counted the coins in the box, they thought about how they should throw a grand first birthday party for their little granddaughter.

Since their granddaughter came to their home, she has brought them good luck.

During this famine year, while other families were eating coarse food and wild vegetables, they could occasionally afford to eat meat. The boy in their family had also grown a lot taller over the past year.

Su Muyao played with her fingers under the window, listening quietly.

These two lovely old people started planning for themselves again. Every time they secretly took something good from the space, they were thinking of them.

Despite her family's already difficult circumstances, she still wanted to throw herself a grand birthday party.

Thinking about the dreams I had before, it seems I still need to go up the mountain.

When Su Muyao obtained the space, she had a dream in which her spiritual spring water was extremely attractive to the animals on the mountain.

Not only that, animals that drink too much of the spring water will develop intelligence. Whether it's true or not, I have to try it myself.

So he wrapped his coat tighter around himself and quietly slipped outside.

Not far away, I saw the elderly men and women of the village chatting idly at the village entrance.

When everyone saw that it was Xiao Fubao, they took out all sorts of things from their pockets and stuffed them into Xiao Fubao's bag.

Grandma Su made this shoulder bag especially for herself. Whenever the villagers gave her roasted peanuts or roasted corn, she would put them in this shoulder bag.

At first, her family was hesitant to give her any of the food, but later they realized that since the child could eat anything and wouldn't get an upset stomach, they just let her be.

"Little Fu Bao, come quickly to Grandma Liu's. Grandma Liu specially roasted peanuts for you, they smell so good!"

As he spoke, he put the small handful of peanuts from his pocket into Su Muyao's handbag.

Then one by one, they started stuffing something into their bags.

Some were roasted soybeans, some were roasted peanuts, and some were corn kernels and sunflower seeds.

"That's enough, thank you Grandpa and Grandma."

Su Muyao shamelessly revealed an adorable smile.

This completely captivated the elderly folks. She was already good-looking, fair-skinned and chubby, and they couldn't put her down.

"Oh my, look how fluent he is! In all the surrounding villages, our little Fu Bao is probably the first to walk and talk."

"Little Fu Bao, where are you going? Do you want Grandma Zhao to carry you?"

The speaker was Zhao Jinhua from the east end of the village, a well-known and formidable figure in the village.

Su Muyao quickly waved her hand, "I'm just going to play over there for a bit, I'll be right back."

Zhao Jinhua saw that the place the little dumpling was pointing to was not far away, just under the big tree at the bend in the road ahead. Since it was in the village and she wouldn't get lost, she didn't pay much attention to it.

Everyone watched as the little dumpling toddled towards the big locust tree in front of them.

"Look how lucky the Su family is! Why wasn't it my son who picked this up when he was passing by? I adore this chubby, fair-skinned baby!"

A woman nearby scoffed, "You like this chubby little girl, don't you? You like her good fortune, don't you? Look at your little Zhaodi and Pandi, they're so hungry. Giving them more food is better than anything else."

The old lady was very unhappy about being humiliated and retorted, "Those two little money-losers, if they had even half of Xiao Fubao's good fortune, they could buy whatever they wanted."

"If you're not good enough, you can't blame others." After saying that, he glanced at the woman's flat stomach.

The woman knew what the old lady was going to say as soon as she saw her, so she turned and left.

After pausing by the tree for a while and seeing that no one was paying attention, Su Muyao started walking up the mountain.

"Ugh, so tired. My poor little legs."

Su Muyao was still lamenting how difficult the mountain path was when she heard someone shout from ahead, "Run! There's a wild boar!"

"No way, am I that unlucky?" After saying this, Su Muyao turned around and was about to run back when she tripped over a small stone and fell to the ground with a thud.

The man shouting that there was a wild boar was a hunter from the village, and he had already run up to the little dumpling.

Seeing the little dumpling fall to the ground, he grabbed the dumpling and held it in front of him to protect it.

In just that one moment, the wild boar was already right in front of them.

Two wild boars, one in front and one behind, with the one in front blocking its own retreat.

The hunter knew he probably wouldn't be able to get out today, and sighed as he looked at the baby in his arms.

"Hey, why did you decide to come up the mountain alone?"

Su Muyao never imagined that such a large wild boar could appear on the outskirts of the mountain.

These two wild boars in front of us must weigh over 300 pounds each!

Su Muyao gripped the mini pistol tightly in her hand, no longer caring about being exposed; saving her life was the priority.

As soon as the wild boar makes its next move, he immediately pulls the trigger.

Her legs were trembling; this was the first time she had ever seen a wild animal.

Suddenly, an awkward voice echoed in my mind, "It sounds like that doll in front! That pleasant fragrance is coming from her."

Su Muyao looked at the hunter who was holding her. He didn't say anything, so who else could it be?

Looking around, I was shocked to see several wolves emerging from the bushes.

Two of the snow-white wolves were staring straight at him.

"My life is over."

The little dumpling wanted nothing more than to lie flat on its back.

Other people who time-travel are all incredibly awesome, but when it comes to me, I'm on the verge of kicking the bucket.

But the next second, that familiar voice echoed in his mind again: "You bunch of idiots, kill those two idiots, but don't hurt that precious thing."

Suddenly, three or five wolves came galloping down the hillside. Their goal was clearly the two wild boars in front of them.

The two wild boars were clearly no match for the wolves; their necks were snapped in no time.

The hunter was puzzled as to why the wolf that was deep inside the mountain would suddenly come to the outer edge.

It seems these wild boars were frightened into coming out. Whether they are wild boars or wolves, it looks like I'm going to lose my life today.

Originally, the hunter only intended to go up the mountain to pick some wild vegetables and see if he could catch a rabbit to take back with him.

They didn't bring any bows or knives; they never intended to go any further.

But she had been standing there for ages, and these wolves hadn't made a single move; they were just staring straight at the baby in her arms.

The hunter, still unsure, looked again more closely. Yes, he wasn't mistaken; the wolves were staring intently at the cub in his arms.

"Uncle, can you put me down?"

The hunter loosened his grip on the baby, saying, "When I put you down, you run back as fast as you can."

"Once we get to the village, shout that the wolves have come down from the mountain and send people up to fight them, understand?"

After saying that, he put the baby behind him and blocked the wolf's path, shouting to the baby, "Run!"

While the hunter was thinking about how to escape, Su Muyao already understood what the wolves meant.

They want water from their own space, so just give it to them.

He took out a large bowl from his spatial storage, which was filled with spiritual spring water.

He shakily placed the large bowl on the ground and took two steps back.

The two white wolves from before suddenly charged down.

"Awooo"

The two wolves came to the bowl and started slurping until only a thin layer remained at the bottom.

Immediately afterwards, one of the white wolves walked up to Su Muyao and rubbed its head against her little head.

The little guy couldn't withstand that kind of force and plopped down on the ground.
