Chapter 33 The Liu Family Comes to the Door

"Mother, I won't marry him. I don't even know anything about that man. How can I just marry him like that?"

With just a glance from Old Lady Li, Li Cui's younger brother pinned his sister down.

"If you don't marry me, are you going to stay home and eat for free? Otherwise, what do you think I brought you back for?"

"Are you expecting me to come back and support you? Pshaw!"

Li Cui stared at her mother in disbelief, "This was all planned by you."

Only then did Li Cui realize why she had argued with her husband when she returned.

His own mother said he was bullying the Li family because they had no one to back him up, so she sent his younger brother over to support him.

I originally thought that although my mother was biased, she was still my biological daughter, and she would naturally stand up for me if I suffered any grievances in my husband's family.

Unexpectedly, while arguing, she ended up getting a divorce agreement.

She was willing to break ties with her in-laws so that they wouldn't suffer, but she never expected that they would be thinking about how to sell her off.

In the end, the Li family still forced Li Cui to go through the wedding ceremony with the other party.

...

The adults in the Su family had all gone to harvest cabbages and radishes, leaving only a few boys at home to look after their younger sister.

There was a knocking sound at the door. Xibao thought it was her grandparents coming back, but when she opened the door, she found that she didn't recognize any of the three people standing outside.

Who are you looking for?

Xi Bao asked in confusion, but the person in front of her ignored her and started walking inside on his own.

Seeing that she couldn't stop him, Xi Bao quickly shouted at the village chief's son outside.

"Help! Someone's trying to steal my things! Help! Help!"

Xi Bao's shout caused a flurry of activity, and neighbors from all around opened their doors and rushed over.

"Tiedan, go and call your Grandma Su and the others over. Tell them there's been a thief in the house."

Upon hearing this, Tie Dan immediately went to Old Su's field to find someone.

The Su brothers hurried home, and even Wang Taoxiu, who was still chatting at the village entrance, rushed home.

The village chief's son grabbed the two men standing in the yard and pulled them out of the Su family's house.

"Who are you looking for and what are you doing going into someone's house? Are you here to steal something? In that case, we'll have no choice but to report you to the authorities."

Upon hearing this, Liu Wentao, Caifeng, and the old lady of the Liu family quickly left the Su family's gate.

That makes sense; if they were falsely accused of stealing, they wouldn't be able to explain themselves later.

At this moment, Old Mrs. Liu spoke up, "Alright, then we can talk about it outside. We're not bad people; we're from Liu Family Village, which is only two villages away from you."

At this moment, Wang Taoxiu also returned. Su Muyao, who was inside the house, heard the commotion outside and stopped sleeping. When she opened the door, she saw a group of people standing in the yard.

Wang Taoxiu naturally saw the little girl at the door and quickly picked her up.

"Goodness, you weren't scared, were you? Don't be afraid, don't be afraid."

As he spoke, he patted Su Muyao on the back, as if afraid that she would be frightened by these people.

Liu Wentao was about to step forward as soon as he saw Su Muyao, but was stopped by the village chief's son.

“Fu Bao, Fu Bao, I am your daddy.”

The man's words silenced everyone around him. What did he mean? Had he come to someone's house to claim his daughter?

Immediately afterwards, Liu Wentao asked the woman holding Su Muyao, "You must be Xiao Fubao's biological father, right? I am Xiao Fubao's biological father."

"Nonsense! I'm the father of my darling daughter. Who is this guy who comes here and wants someone else's daughter?"

As soon as Su Laosan squeezed out of the crowd, he heard a man claiming to be the biological father of his beloved child. What utter nonsense!

"You must be Su Sanlang. Let's be frank, the little girl you picked up is someone our family accidentally lost."

"We're here today to take Xiaofubao back. She's been with you for a year, and we'll compensate you with cash for everything she's eaten, worn, and used. We can also discuss any other compensation you require. Is that acceptable?"

Wang Taoxiu was displeased when she heard this. How could this be a case of someone being determined to take her daughter away?

What evidence do you have that she is your daughter?

Upon hearing this, Liu Wentao immediately laughed. He had inquired beforehand, otherwise he wouldn't have dared to come and ask for the child so rashly.

"This child has a golden lotus mark on his wrist. If it's my child, why don't you show everyone the skin on his wrist?"

Su Laosan burst out laughing, "Who doesn't know that our little Fu Bao has a golden lotus mark on her wrist? Could it be that you heard somewhere that our little one is lucky and wanted to trick her away?"

The villagers chimed in, "Who doesn't know that Xiao Fubao has a birthmark on his wrist? Just because of that, you really can't take the child away."

Grandma Liu started throwing a tantrum, saying, "You Su family are really inhuman! You found our child, and we thank you and are willing to compensate you, so why don't you give the child back to us? That child is ours."

The sound could be heard from two miles away.

Grandma Su and Grandpa Su arrived late, and after learning what had happened, they were so angry they wanted to tear the old lady sitting on the ground to pieces.

Picking up the broom beside him, he chased away the old woman who was throwing a tantrum on the ground, yelling, "Go away, go away! Who comes to our territory to act like a scoundrel?"

Liu Wentao was furious and slapped the broom that Grandma Su was holding.

"We tried to reason with you politely, but you insisted on taking this to the authorities before you were satisfied?"

Su Sanlang kicked Liu Wentao to the ground.

"If you get sued, it'll be your family getting sued. You came to snatch the child while the adults of the Su family weren't home and got caught, so you claim it's your own child. It's really laughable."

While feeling sorry for her son being kicked to the ground, Old Mrs. Liu retorted sharply, "What do you mean by trying to snatch a child? That's our girl, how is that snatching your child?"

Cai Feng, who had been standing timidly to the side, suddenly knelt down in front of Old Madam Su.

"Grandma, this really is my daughter! Please, please give my daughter back to me, please!" he said, kowtowing repeatedly to Grandma Su.

Li Wentao got up, pointing angrily at Su Sanlang, "How dare you lay a hand on me! All the benefits your family has received are thanks to my own daughter, and you still dare to hit me!"

At this moment, the old village chief also arrived.

But this is ultimately a family matter for the Su family; let them resolve it themselves first.

Su Laosan looked at Liu Wentao with a firm gaze and said, "I don't care if you're real or fake, my precious baby will always be my daughter, and no one can just take her away."

"Yes, yes, she's Su Laosan's darling little daughter, not yours."

Su Muyao immediately sided with her father in a coquettish voice, saying, "That bastard knows he's capable, and now he wants to acknowledge me back? What kind of good thing is that?"

Su Laosan looked at Liu Wentao and asked, "You said your child is lost. Where was he lost? And why was he lost? The place where I found the child is very remote. It's definitely not someone else who accidentally lost him."

Before Liu Wentao could think of a suitable answer, the old lady Liu spoke up first.
