Chapter 12 Clearance Sale

Jian Ning left the classroom and went straight to the counselor's office. She told him that she had some family matters to attend to recently and asked to take a few days off, but it wouldn't affect her final exams.

The counselor hesitated for a moment, then repeatedly reminded her not to forget her studies and not to fail the final exams, before granting her leave.

After receiving the leave slip, Jian Ning didn't return to the classroom but went straight to the warehouse.

The delivery notification has arrived on her phone; the courier is currently delivering the package, and she needs to go to the warehouse to wait. Getting everything she bought is the most important thing now.

On the way, she received another call from Liu Yan, who said that the medicines and medical equipment she needed had already started to be prepared and would definitely be delivered within three days. She was told to prepare the final payment.

Jian Ning was very grateful to her and casually reminded her that extreme weather was coming and that she should stock up on supplies. She used the excuse given by the National Meteorological Bureau.

"Ningning, you reminded me so seriously, I thought the apocalypse was coming. Okay, I know, I'll prepare some. Actually, my family has food reserves every year."

You have no idea, my mom loves to hoard things, especially food and toilet paper!

"My villa is practically a warehouse! We could eat until the year after next without any problems." Liu Yan's words were full of laughter, showing that he didn't believe there was any extreme weather at all.

Jian Ning listened with a smile. The apocalypse was indeed coming, but as a friend, she could only offer this much advice; she couldn't say more, lest she give herself away.

She couldn't explain how she could foresee the future. After all, she wasn't a savior and couldn't save that many people. Just surviving in the apocalypse was an achievement in itself.

Hearing Liu Yan mention toilet paper, she realized she had forgotten about it. You see, when she was cultivating immortality, she could not only abstain from grains, but she could also control when her period would come, or even not come at all.

But this body doesn't have that function.

So these hygiene products still need to be prepared in advance. I picked up my phone and called the manufacturer; I bought 5,000 boxes of toilet paper.

I bought 3,000 boxes each of sanitary napkins, night-use, day-use, and panty liners.

I also contacted the largest brand of daily chemical manufacturers, made a phone call, and ordered 500 boxes of each of shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, soap, and fabric softener. I need to stock up on all these commonly used consumables.

She then went to the city's largest shopping mall and bought 1,000 sets of the best cosmetics. Although no one wears makeup in the apocalypse, she still wanted to live a refined life. Her skin was her own, and she needed to take good care of it.

It's a pity she has too little spiritual energy, otherwise she could refine pills herself. Those beauty and health pills are much more effective than these cosmetics.

Remembering this, Jian Ning quickly went to the traditional Chinese medicine shop again, but unfortunately, most of the medicines she needed were available.

Only a few of the more expensive ones were out of stock. The shop assistant told her that if she wanted to buy a large quantity of Chinese medicine, she should go to Anshi, where the prices were cheaper and the variety was more complete.

Jian Ning thought about it and realized the shop assistant was right. It seemed she would have to make time to go to a wholesale medicinal herb market. She couldn't just buy this online; if she bought a fake, it would cause her a lot of trouble.

Just outside the pharmacy was an outdoor gear store with a huge "Clearance Sale" sign on the glass door.

Thinking about the future, with torrential rains and extreme cold, many of the things mentioned here will be useful.

When I entered the store, the staff were dozing off out of boredom.

Business has been bad lately; not even a fly gets in all day, so he can only sleep.

"Hello, how are the items in the store being sold off?" Jian Ning gently tapped the counter and asked softly.

"Everything is 50% off the original price. Do you want to buy a tent for camping?"

This one is the best quality and has a lot of space inside. If our boss weren't going abroad and the store wasn't in a hurry to sell, the price wouldn't be this cheap.

When the shop assistant saw Jian Ning asking about the price, she quickly stood up and greeted her warmly.

Is your boss in?

"Yes, he's resting in the back. I'll call him if I need anything."

"Okay, thank you for your help. I'll wait." Jian Ning looked around at the items in the shop. To be honest, the quality was really good. At half price, it was probably close to cost price. It seemed that the owner really didn't want to keep the business.

"Hello, I'm the owner of this shop. What would you like to buy?" A robust middle-aged man with a full beard walked out from the back, clearly someone who had retired from the military and was now engaged in outdoor sports.

How do I know? It's all about their presence. Trained soldiers are clearly different from ordinary people.

"Hello, if I buy everything in this store, including your inventory, could you give me a discount?" Jian Ning asked him with a smile.

"You want them all? Things in my shop aren't cheap. Look at this speedboat, it's a military model, the most expensive one in my shop. The original price was [amount missing], and it can reach a speed of 40 knots. Its range is 125 nautical miles."

I have five of these, not counting the regular speedboats, rubber boats, motorboats, tents, cold-weather clothing, sleeping bags, and so on. If you add it all up...

The goods in my shop are worth around eight million. Even if I give you a 50% discount, it will still be four million.

Are you sure you want them all? The boss was a very honest person and didn't immediately agree to sell just because he suddenly encountered a big customer.

"Yes, I'll take them all, if the price is right."

Jian Ning didn't know how much profit there was, but she guessed that since the boss was in a hurry to go abroad to sell off his goods, he probably wouldn't ask for too high a price, and she would try to negotiate down whatever price she could.

"If you are serious about buying, the lowest price is 3.8 million, but that's not even enough to cover my costs."

To be honest, if it weren't for some urgent family matters that required me to leave, I would never have sold it at this price.

You see, everything in this shop is the result of my hard work. By the way, this sale doesn't include the weapons hanging on the wall. Everything else is included, including everything in the storeroom.

Hearing the shopkeeper's words, Jian Ning's gaze finally fell on the cold weapons hanging on the wall: scimitars, crossbows, and long-handled axe.

What caught her eye most was a sword. It looked quite old, with the entire blade inside its scabbard. It was dusty and unremarkable, yet it exuded a rich spiritual aura.

"I don't want anything else, just that sword, okay? I'll give you 100,000 for it." Jian Ning pointed to the location of the sword with her chin.

"Young lady, you have a good eye. This is an antique, passed down from my great-grandfather. One hundred thousand is too little. If you're truly interested..."

"I'll sell it to you for a million, but to be honest, this sword looks alright, but you can't actually draw it. Don't say I'm cheating a young girl like you if you buy it."

"Okay, deal. Can you deliver it? I need it now." Jian Ning didn't hesitate at all. What was a million?

This sword is a spiritual weapon, at least a sixth-grade one. Even in the cultivation world, it's a valuable item, extremely rare and hard to come by. She would buy it without hesitation even if the owner offered five million today.
