He picked up Ruoshui and began learning the first move from the beginning in the stone chamber. As he practiced with great enthusiasm, his eyes swept over the sword marks on the wall and he suddenly saw a person in a Taoist robe wielding a sword.
The moves were exactly the same as what she was doing now, the only difference being that every time the swordsman thrust out, it seemed as if thousands of swords were accompanying him.
He immediately understood, sat down cross-legged, held Ruoshui in his hand, and stared intently at the stone wall without blinking.
Once she sat down, an entire night passed. It wasn't until almost noon that Jian Ning finally stretched and stood up.
After a slight stretch, the sword in his hand flashed out like lightning, creating thousands of sword shadows, each one real and leaving faint marks on the opposite wall.
This is the first move, "Ten Thousand Swords at Will".
And just like that, she mastered it. A happy smile involuntarily appeared on Jian Ning's face. Although it lacked some power, it was enough to kill those black bats.
Individually, they are not very strong, but anything in a crowd is frightening; even a swarm of ants can kill an elephant.
I only remembered Huang Fugui when we went out to eat. I didn't know how he was doing. I ate a quick bite and then went to pick him up.
It was Aunt Wang who opened the door, and her face lit up with a smile as soon as she saw Jian Ning:
"Xiao Ning, what breed of dog is your pet? It's so cute! Tian Tian insisted on sleeping with it last night, and the two of them played together so well."
"Auntie, it's not a dog. It's a cat," Jian Ning corrected.
"A cat? I didn't recognize it. It barks quite well like a dog; I always thought it was a dog."
"Sister Ning, are you here to take Bai Bai back?" Tian Tian heard the commotion in the living room, carried Huang Fugui out, her face full of reluctance.
"Yes, its name is Huang Fugui, not Bai Bai." Jian Ning glanced at Huang Fugui, who was nestled comfortably in Tian Tian's arms. It really knew how to enjoy itself better than its feline overlord.
"But its fur is white, not yellow, so why is it called Huang Fugui (meaning 'Yellow Fortune')?" Tian Tian didn't understand.
"That's because it's a particularly greedy little animal. Huang Fugui, let's go home, don't sleep." As soon as Jian Ning finished speaking, Huang Fugui opened its mouth and barked at her a few times.
"You really think you're a dog? You've forgotten how to bark?" Jian Ning walked over and patted its head, and Huang Fugui immediately meowed.
"Oh my, it really is a cat! How interesting. Has this little guy become a spirit?" Aunt Wang watched with amusement.
"Sister, can I play with it a little longer?" Tian Tian was reluctant to let Huang Fugui go back. It was a rare treat to have such a fun playmate.
"Let me ask its opinion, Huang Fugui, aren't you going home?"
"No, meow!" Huang Fugui almost let it slip, quickly covering his mouth with his little paws and looking at Jian Ning with a terrified expression.
Thankfully, neither Tian Tian nor Aunt Wang noticed, and the matter was thus successfully covered up.
"Then I'll get some of its food. Tian Tian, let it play with you a little longer. If it wants to go home, you can just put it in the hallway."
"Jian Ning said, giving Huang Fugui a warning glare, and then told herself not to talk to it anymore, lest she give herself away.
"Thank you, Sister Ning," Tian Tian said happily, giving Huang Fugui a kiss on the forehead. She was so happy that she could continue playing with it.
Jian Ning went back and brought back a roast chicken and a large piece of braised beef.
"Tian Tian, just feed it these. Drink more water."
"Sister, this chicken is bigger than Bai Bai's body, can it eat it?"
No sooner had she finished speaking than Huang Fugui jumped out of her arms and took a big bite, making it clear that this might not even be enough.
Jian Ning rolled her eyes at it; it was such a glutton. If it weren't for her, probably no one could afford to feed it now.
After leaving Aunt Wang's house, I went downstairs to take a look. The sun was blazing hot outside, but there were still just as many people out looking for things.
I didn't dare go far, just wandered around the neighborhood for a bit. Just as I was about to head back, I suddenly heard a scream from afar. The sound was extremely shrill.
Jian Ning looked up and saw a man in a red vest across the intersection, clutching his head and howling incessantly. The woman with him couldn't pull him away no matter what she tried.
Jian Ning took two steps in that direction, but before she got close, she saw a bunch of tiny white worms suddenly crawl out of the man's eyes. They were densely packed, thin and long.
The man painfully banged his head against the nearby telephone pole. After a few bangs, he collapsed to the ground with a thud and didn't move.
Jian Ning had never seen this kind of insect before. She was stunned for a moment, and seeing the woman next to her about to pounce on the man, she quickly stepped forward and pulled her away.
"Those worms will parasitize you. You'd better burn the corpse."
"Husband, husband, you've left me all alone, what am I going to do?" Unexpectedly, the woman didn't listen to her at all, broke free from Jian Ning's hand, and pounced on her again.
"What kind of bugs are these? There are so many of them, crawling out of our eyes and noses. They're going to eat our brains off!"
In just a short while, a large crowd had gathered around. It seems that the Chinese people's love of watching a spectacle is something they can never control.
"That's terrifying! Old Zhang, stay away from here, don't get infected. Didn't you hear that girl say it can be parasitic?"
"I know, did you eat something that caused this bug to get into your stomach? Little sister, get up quickly, saving your life is the most important thing. Once someone is gone, no amount of sadness can bring them back."
"Yes, this wretched world, I don't know when it will get better."
The people around were whispering amongst themselves, but no one dared to go and pull the woman away, as the number of thin, white worms on the man's body was increasing. They were constantly wriggling, and it looked particularly disgusting.
Suddenly the woman screamed and stood up, lunging at the short, fat man standing next to her.
The man was completely unprepared and was pushed to the ground. Only then did he realize what was happening, grabbed the woman's arm, and threw her away.
"Oh my god, you scared me to death! Quick, help me check if I have any bugs on me!" The short, fat man immediately took off his black vest and patted himself all over.
"There's something on your pants, hurry up and take it off. You might as well take it all off, so the bugs don't get in."
The one speaking was his companion, who appeared to be a relative, but he only gave instructions from a distance and dared not step forward.
At this moment, the woman was wailing and scratching her head repeatedly with her hands, as if the insects were burrowing into her brain.
"Stop looking! Quickly go and notify the army medics to come and take a look at what this is. If it spreads, it could be deadly!" The short, stout man took off his oversized shorts as well.
Wearing only a pair of bright red shorts underneath, he kept jumping around in place. He even shouted for others to hurry up and report it, showing he was a person with a strong sense of justice and responsibility.
Jian Ning secretly set up a spiritual energy shield around the two people. This was also to prevent the insects from crawling out and infecting others.
