Chapter 153 Monster Attack

Suddenly, the formation fluctuated slightly, and then the spirit stone that served as the core of the formation turned into powder. It had withstood countless attacks throughout the night, and now it had finally exhausted its spiritual energy and completed its mission.

"Xiao Ning, Xiao Ning, are you there?" Jian Anping's anxious voice rang out on the walkie-talkie.

"Yes, what's wrong?" Jian Ning's cool voice immediately calmed Jian Anping on the other end of the line.

"What happened outside? I woke up this morning to find blood everywhere, and quite a few corpses!"

"The monster attacked various residential buildings and neighborhoods in the city last night. There must have been a lot of deaths!" Jian Ning's tone was very calm.

"I didn't hear a thing! That's strange, I don't usually sleep this soundly. Is everything alright now? Should I go downstairs to check?"

"No need, just stay at home and remember not to go out." With Jian Anping's mediocre skills, Ding Ning didn't believe he could protect himself.

"Okay, I understand. Continue practicing with Dazhuang. Try to learn it as soon as possible." Jian Anping was obedient. His sister must have her reasons for not letting him go out.

Although he was quite brave, he was still somewhat frightened by the bloody scene downstairs. Was this monster unkillable? How would they live afterward?

He couldn't help but feel worried, but he didn't dare tell Li Mengyao these things. After all, he was the head of the family, and if he was afraid, what would happen to the elderly and children at home?

All I could do was close the white gauze curtains on the windows and tell Aunt Li that the sun was too bright outside today, and it was a bit too dazzling, so I shouldn't open them.

The scene outside was so frightening that I was worried the two elderly people wouldn't be able to bear it.

Jian Ning did not activate the formation. During the day, everyone was awake, and if anything happened, they could all hear her shouting.

He took out the Nine Revolutions Heaven-Burning Technique from the Immortal Abode.

The first stage involves storing the earth's fire within oneself, using one's skin and flesh as the flame to refine it. Following the path of the little figure depicted in the book, one begins cultivation.

Then a series of screams suddenly came from outside.

As soon as Jian Ning opened her eyes, it seemed as if two flames suddenly shot out from them.

It flashed and disappeared in an instant. The fact that this first stage of cultivation had such a great effect gave her even more confidence in the technique.

I stood up, opened the door, and went into the hallway. Looking downstairs, the sun was just about to set. It seemed the monsters had started their large-scale activity again.

He took out a mid-grade spirit stone from his storage bracelet and put it into the array plate. After the array was activated, all the sounds outside were covered up.

Jian Ning, wielding the Ruoshui Sword, cast an invisibility spell on herself and flew away. She circled the building once...

These monsters, discovered in just one night, had grown considerably larger than when they were born, and were much more agile. The air outside was thick with the stench of blood.

After a whole day, the fire hadn't dissipated much, which shows how many people died last night. These ordinary people were utterly helpless against these powerful monsters.

The ground was so dirty and messy that it was impossible to walk on it. Jian Ning killed all the monsters surrounding the building and was about to go back when she suddenly heard a whimpering sound not far away.

Turning her head, she saw a dog's head peeking out from the grass in the flowerbed. Its ears were bitten into a wrench shape by something, and it had a rather large, dirty head. Its eyes looked at her with a hint of pleading.

You're pretty amazing. How did you survive out there?

Jian Ning didn't land, but flew directly in front of it, only then realizing that the dog was actually a rather large husky, skin and bones. Its body was covered in wounds, some still dripping blood.

I couldn't help but admire it. This dog was quite amazing; it survived the monster's attack and even knew to ask me for help.

But she didn't want to support him; Huang Fugui, a chatterbox, was enough for her.

Just as I was about to leave, the dog barked twice, suddenly ran out of the flower bed, and knelt down on its front legs before me.

Now Jian Ning was too embarrassed to leave. She looked it over carefully for a few moments and said, "Get up first. If you can understand me, stand up!"

The husky barked and quickly stood up, wagging its tail twice.

Jian Ning let out a surprised "Eh?" She hadn't expected it to actually understand; had it gained sentience?

"I'm going back now. I'll wait for you on the fifteenth floor for five minutes. If you come with me, I'll be your master from now on." After saying that, he flew away without looking back.

The husky on the ground stared at Jian Ning's departing figure, whimpered twice, and chased after her without hesitation.

Jian Ning went back this time by going through the wall instead of taking the stairs. She wanted to see how smart the dog was. If it could really find her way back, she would keep it and wouldn't be short of food.

As soon as it stopped on the fifteenth floor, it sensed the fluctuations of the formation. It smiled slightly, granted it access, and then looked at its watch, waiting silently.

One minute, two minutes, three minutes and forty-five seconds. The stairwell door was suddenly flung open.

The husky rushed out from inside, lost control of its speed, crashed into the opposite wall, shook its big head, and then passed out.

This left Jian Ning speechless. Was this dog smart or stupid? But since it had come looking for her, she had to keep her promise.

With a wave of her hand, the husky vanished from the spot. Jian Ning placed it into the jade pendant's spatial storage.

Then he walked through the wall and returned to his own house.

I went to the space and checked the dog's wounds; several of them were quite serious.

Especially on its right hind leg, there was a deep wound that exposed the bone, probably caused by the monster using pincers. Jian Ning took the first-aid kit, disinfected it, applied some anesthetic, and stitched up the wound.

It was lucky to have met me; otherwise, it definitely wouldn't have made it through the night.

The wounds were bandaged up, and a pill was put into its mouth.

More than ten minutes later, Husky slowly opened his eyes.

Looking at the unfamiliar place, he instantly became alert and wanted to stand up, but then quickly relaxed and lay back down, probably because he could smell Jian Ning's scent. That's why he felt at ease.

"Are you hungry? Want some dog food? Or some meat?" Jian Ning asked, standing near its head.

"Woof woof!" The husky barked twice, its meaning clear: it wanted meat. The second option.

Jian Ning then took out three cooked pork knuckles and put them in an unused washbasin. The husky struggled to sit up, lowered its head, and began to gulp down mouthfuls of dry rice.

Jian Ning then filled a large basin with clean water for it. The husky looked up at her, and surprisingly, a look of gratitude appeared on its face!
