Chapter 215 Research Institute

This allowed her to collect supplies at will.

I specifically looked for shopping malls, supermarkets, and various convenience stores. These places have the most food. Not just food, but also appliances, bedding, household goods, and cleaning supplies.

As long as they weren't severely flooded, she threw them all into the immortal abode; she didn't have to clean them up anyway. This saved her a lot of trouble.

Jian Ning had just parted ways with Xiao Lingfeng today and was walking near a large shopping mall when she suddenly heard voices. They were talking rapidly, like gibberish. Jian Ning quickly hid.

This city is a little far from the sea, so there are still survivors here. And the voices are coming from underground. If Jian Ning didn't have extraordinary hearing, she probably wouldn't have heard them.

The only pity was that she couldn't understand what they were saying at all. Back in school, the original owner studied English.

Although she had watched some Japanese anime, she only had a superficial understanding of it. As for her, there was no one in the cultivation world who spoke a foreign language, so she was completely clueless.

He scratched his head and put an invisibility talisman on himself. He then walked straight through the wall and went inside.

If you don't understand, go and see for yourself what kind of living environment they're in. Even underground isn't safe; if the seawater floods in, wouldn't everyone be trapped?

Unless they have a special way to protect themselves and aren't afraid of the octopus monster harming them. Therefore, Jian Ning was very curious.

Upon entering, Jian Ning was truly astonished. This was just an ordinary city, yet there was such a large underground structure, like a maze, winding and turning, and it was brightly lit and still had a power supply.

It seems their facilities here are quite complete.

Most of the people inside were wearing white lab coats, and they used iris recognition to enter and exit. This must be a research institute.

Jian Ning guessed that the area was well-constructed, which was why the tsunami hadn't flooded it.

Moreover, the people here all have rosy complexions, which shows that they are not lacking in food.

Just then, two researchers walked by side by side. They were having a heated discussion as they walked, the shorter one being particularly excited, waving his hands incessantly. It was impossible to understand what they were saying. It was truly frustrating not being able to understand them.

Jian Ning darted into the room next door, clearing the passageway; otherwise, the two of them might have bumped into her as they walked by.

The room was brightly lit, and in the very center stood two enormous petri dishes. Jian Ning walked around to take a look and almost vomited. She had seen her fair share of terrifying scenes in the cultivation world.

This isn't scary, it's disgusting. A grown man's arm has been severed and reattached to more than ten tentacles of a monster. A tube is protruding from his head, connected to the outside. His eyes are closed, but he's still breathing.

The solution in which he was soaking was blood red. It looked quite frightening.

The other one contained a little boy covered in tubes, the purpose of which was unknown.

Several instruments were connected to it and were in operation.

Jian Ning didn't move. Instead, she left the room and went to the next one, which was filled with the larvae of all sorts of strange marine creatures, including mantis shrimp. And they were all alive.

This made Jian Ning wonder how they managed to capture these things.

Or perhaps they deliberately bred these animals and released them into the sea? It's hard to say, but these people are all utterly wicked.

After searching each room, they quickly discovered the place where supplies were stored.

Boxes of canned meat, canned fish, dehydrated vegetables, compressed biscuits, instant noodles. Ready-to-eat rice. Rice, wheat flour, vegetable oil. Next to it, more than a dozen cold storage units lined up side by side.

It's filled with all sorts of frozen seafood, including various frozen fish, shrimp, and squid.

The other cold storage rooms are filled with beef and mutton. Each cold storage room is basically full.

Jian Ning didn't keep a single piece. She directly stored it all in her immortal abode.

The rooms next door were filled with bottled water. It seems they had prepared in advance. This amount of supplies should be enough to feed the people here for decades.

This is why Xiao Lingfeng's space couldn't hold all the things Jian Ning brought. It included military bedding and firearms and ammunition from the warehouse. Nothing was left out.

Upon reaching the last, enormous room, Jian Ning was surprised to find not only three helicopters, but also a manned spacecraft and more than ten sets of spacesuits.

All of this benefited her, and she even stored the fuel in her immortal abode.

I'm very satisfied; this trip was definitely worthwhile. If anything happens to Earth, I could even pilot a spacecraft and go for a spin in space.

After taking these supplies, Jian Ning didn't let any of the scientific research computers go to waste either; they might come in handy for future reconstruction efforts in China.

As for the incubation dishes for those monsters, Jian Ning simply used a few lightning talismans and threw a bucket of explosives inside. She blew them all up. Whether the people inside lived or died was none of her concern.

He flew into the air on his sword, listening to the series of explosions below. He smiled slightly.

"Jian Ning, what's going on over here?" Xiao Lingfeng heard the huge explosion and rushed over.

"It's nothing. I found a research institute that wasn't doing anything good. I couldn't let them keep harming people, so I blew them up." Jian Ning said it casually, as if she had just crushed a bug she hated.

"Well done!" Xiao Lingfeng had no good feelings towards the Japanese, especially towards their inhumane research institutes. Every one eliminated is a loss.

"I found a few large pharmacies and collected all the medicines inside. Let's continue on our way and focus on whether there are any other research facilities like this. I reckon there's more than just this one."

Xiao Lingfeng planned to wipe them all out. Keeping them around was just asking for trouble; who knew what kind of trouble they might cause in the future.

"Alright, let's go. There shouldn't be many survivors left here."

Jian Ning heard the cries for help from underground dwindling, and the sounds of the explosions subsided. She grabbed Xiao Lingfeng and flew on her sword towards the next city.

"I've made quite a haul this time. I found three helicopters and a spacecraft. Can you fly this?"

"No, but I can look into it. There should be an instruction manual or something, right?" Xiao Lingfeng asked immediately, showing great interest.

"Yes, I've kept the instruction manual. When we get to the next city, let's take a break first, and you can start learning. You never know when you might need it."
