Chapter 218 Wolf Meat

"No need to be polite, we're all on the same side. Hang in there, we'll figure out a way to get up there." Xiao Lingfeng glanced at the wounded men. Since the helicopter couldn't land on the platform outside, the only option was to transport everyone to the mountaintop. This was a task only he could handle.

He first walked over to the fire-type warrior whose ankle was twisted and said:

“I’ll carry you up, Jian Ning. You wait down here for a while before you go up.”

"I'll go up first, just in case there are monsters or wolves coming from up there."

It's not safe for him to be up there alone. After I get up, you can carry them up one by one.” Jian Ning said, winking at Xiao Lingfeng.

He immediately understood what Jian Ning meant.

"That's fine, you go up first. To prevent you from aggravating your wounds while you're awake, Jian Ning will put some medicine on you. After you sleep for a while, you'll be home."

"Thank you, Comrade Jane."

The team leader completely agreed. Carrying someone up such a high cliff would be extremely difficult; it would be better to make them unconscious and immobile, thus relieving some pressure on Xiao Lingfeng and his companion.

So when Jian Ning handed them the pills, they swallowed them without hesitation.

Even the soldier with only an injured ankle received some. After they all fell asleep, the two exchanged a smile. Jian Ning waved her hand. The five of them vanished from their spot in an instant.

This was something Xiao Lingfeng hadn't expected. He had always thought that Jian Ning's space was like his own, only able to store inanimate objects, but he never imagined that even living people could be put inside.

"Let's go up, what are you standing there for!" Jian Ning rolled her eyes at him and took the lead in flying to the top of the cliff on her sword, with Xiao Lingfeng following closely behind her.

Once they reached the top, a closer look at the surrounding snow revealed numerous animal footprints. Initially, they had been so focused on finding people that they hadn't noticed these details.

Jian Ning put all five people into the helicopter. Then she and Xiao Lingfeng got in. The helicopter was quite spacious and looked like a military helicopter, capable of carrying eight people, which was just enough to fit the wounded.

Just as Xiao Lingfeng started the helicopter, a large gray wolf suddenly ran out of the woods next to it, looked up at the helicopter, and howled. Immediately afterward, fifty or sixty adult wolves appeared behind it.

They were all skin and bones, and it seemed that they were not having a good time either.

"I'll go down and kill them all, then take them back to eat." Xiao Lingfeng didn't even bother to fly the plane; there were so many wolves, he couldn't leave them here to harm humans.

There's no food on the mountain, and they'll have to come down sooner or later, and then their comrades will be the ones to suffer. Now that he's encountered them, none of them will escape.

"Together." Jian Ning finished speaking, drew her sword, and rushed out.

They headed straight for the lead wolf.

She should be invincible below the Golden Core stage now. No matter how powerful this wolf is, it is no match for her. In just one exchange, it was pierced through by Jian Ning's sword.

Even if these wolves are fierce, they are still no match for the ferocious beasts of the cultivation world; their strength is far inferior.

Seeing the alpha wolf killed instantly, the other wolves' morale immediately weakened. Some of the more timid ones turned to run, but Xiao Lingfeng stopped them all.

The two men killed all fifty or sixty wolves in less than three minutes.

Xiao Lingfeng took out a storage bag, put all the wolf carcasses inside, and then boarded the plane with Jian Ning. They flew back to their base.

As soon as the plane came to a stop, soldiers rushed over.

"Captain Xiao, have you found the person?"

"Found them, they're all on the plane, some are seriously injured, it would be best to get a stretcher over."

As soon as Xiao Lingfeng finished speaking, soldiers quickly ran over carrying a door panel. There was definitely no stretcher available. The door panel would do; it had been taken down on the spot.

Xiao Lingfeng and Jian Ning helped carry the injured soldiers off the plane. Due to the large dosage of medicine they had been given, all of them remained unconscious and had not yet woken up.

The soldiers, unsure of the extent of their injuries, simply carried them all to Fu Mengfan's side. At Jian Ning's instruction, Xiao Lingfeng stored the helicopter in his spatial storage. Then the two went upstairs.

The commander had already received news of their return. When Xiao Ling entered, he patted him on the shoulder and praised him.

"Good lad, you've done a great job. You've worked hard this time."

"It's no trouble, sir. It's what I should do. The wounded soldiers said they were forced to the bottom of the cliff by a pack of wolves."

So Jian Ning and I killed all those wolves. We can have a nice meal for everyone tonight.”

"Good, good. Ling Feng, I'll remember your contributions and reward you both later." Hearing that the two had wiped out the wolf pack, the commander smiled even more broadly.

So Xiao Lingfeng came out of the commander's office and went to the cookhouse. When the wolves were put on the ground, all the soldiers in the cookhouse were shocked.

"Old Xiao, you're amazing! You two killed all these wolves? Without using guns?"

The head cook, who had a good relationship with Xiao Lingfeng, walked over and asked with a smile.

"Not using a gun would be a waste of bullets. I'm not bragging, but I don't even consider these few wolves a threat," Xiao Lingfeng joked.

"You little rascal, this isn't bragging, you're really capable! Come on, comrades, let's get rid of the wolf skins before it gets dark. We can make a wolf skin rug later, it'll be very warm."

Hearing the cook's words, the soldiers readily agreed, each dragging a wolf to deal with it. Xiao Lingfeng also went to help when he had nothing else to do. Jian Ning went back to the dormitory first; she didn't want to get involved with a group of grown men working.

The wolf meat for dinner was made with chili peppers and dried bamboo shoots; it smelled amazing. On a cold winter's day, eating a big bowl of this hot meat made me feel so comfortable.

Because they made a lot of wolf meat soup, there was no fixed portion for dinner tonight. There were plenty of steamed buns and wolf meat soup. This made the soldiers extremely happy.

They are just ordinary people, not made of iron. For so long, they have been risking their lives every day outside against all kinds of monsters.

We were always hungry and cold, but today we can finally have a full meal. This feeling of happiness is something to be overjoyed about.

When Jian Ning was cultivating immortality, she ate quite a lot of spirit beast meat. Today's wolf meat was quite delicious, and the meat quality was much better than wild boar meat, although the fibers were coarser than pork.

The taste is almost identical to donkey meat. It smells delicious and has a chewy texture. Jian Ning ate a large bowl of wolf meat herself, but only ate a small portion of the steamed bun.

Most of the soldiers drank the wolf meat soup first; it was so delicious. They had never tasted such good food before.
