Chapter 308 Going Out

"Thank you," Xiao Wuyu said, picking through the pills and choosing two suitable ones to put in his mouth.

He was helpless here. Although he knew how to refine pills, he couldn't overcome the lack of medicinal materials. Moreover, he was seriously injured this time. If it weren't for Da Bai risking his life to protect him, he wouldn't have survived until now.

Jian Ning saw that after he took the pill, his complexion became noticeably rosy.

So they started taking food out of his storage space.

"Your body is weak from illness, so drink more nutritious porridge to help you recover as soon as possible, and then I can take you out to see a doctor."

"Can we go out now?" Xiao Wuyu looked up at Jian Ning, his eyes full of eagerness.

"Yes, you can go out now. You can leave here and live elsewhere."

Living in the immortal abode is fine; I've already taken control of this place. Even if you want to go out and explore now, that's perfectly acceptable.

"Let's go, let's go now." Xiao Wuyu was in no mood to eat; he had almost forgotten what the outside world was like.

"Brother Xiao, please don't get excited. Have some porridge first, and then listen to what I have to say."

The world I live in right now is in a state of polar night.

To put it simply, there is no sun; it's nighttime every day.

It will probably take about six months to recover, and the weather outside is -70 or -80 degrees Celsius, which is not good for your health.

I think if you want to leave here, you can first come and live in my immortal abode.

Of course, the villagers can also go along if they agree.

There are ready-made houses, farmland, and everything else available there.

Moreover, the spiritual energy is abundant; you could select those with spiritual roots to take as disciples and teach them cultivation methods, thus preventing them from having nothing to do. Do you agree with my idea?

“Of course I agree. I’ve brought enough for this place. Okay, I’m not in a hurry. I’ll eat something first, and then we can go out and take a look.” Hearing that the outside world was now pitch black, Xiao Wuyu calmed down.

Although living conditions here are harsh, the villagers are temporarily able to live and work in peace thanks to the protection of the formation and their own care.

But this can't go on forever. It would be good if we could live in the immortal abode that Jian Ning mentioned.

The key is that with spiritual energy, he can find ways to cultivate; with spiritual herbs, he can refine pills. This is a hundred times better than being in this useless place.

He picked up the pig's feet porridge that Jian Ning had taken out and drank it in big gulps.

I took two sips and then stopped.

"Miss Jane, can I do you a favor?"

"What is it? Just tell me!"

"Big White was injured while saving me. It's freezing cold outside. It should be in the cave over there. Could you go check on it for me?"

"Okay, you can eat slowly. You can also drink this black chicken soup; it's good for replenishing blood. I'll go check on things."

Jian Ning turned and left the treehouse, then flew on her sword to the cave where Da Bai lived, a cave halfway up the mountain. There wasn't a single footprint on the snow outside, so she didn't know if Da Bai was still there.

So I stood at the door and called out twice.

A weak squeaking sound came from inside the cave. Jian Ning strode in.

Upon closer inspection, one could see that Da Bai's right leg was covered in dried blood. It was curled up on the straw at the very back of the cave, glanced up at Jian Ning, and then closed its eyes again.

"Your injury is so serious, why didn't you let Xiao Wuyu stitch you up? You've lost too much blood, you could die. Don't you know how to take care of your body?"

Jian Ning muttered to herself as she quickly walked up to Da Bai, examined the wound, and found it to be deep enough to expose the bone.

It looked like it had been bitten by some kind of ferocious beast; the wound was badly torn. I quickly took out some qi- and blood-tonifying pills and stuffed them into Da Bai's mouth. Watching it stretch its neck and barely swallow the pills, I couldn't help but sigh.

"I'll put some anesthetic on you, it'll be over quickly, and it won't hurt much."

As she spoke, she gently patted Big White's head twice to comfort it, then took out a first-aid kit from her spatial storage and gave it an anesthetic injection. For such a deep wound, general anesthesia would suffice.

Then the hair on the injured area was shaved off, disinfected, and stitches were started.

When Da Bai woke up, he was already in Xiao Wuyu's warm treehouse.

She struggled for a moment, but couldn't move at all. Jian Ning had used a rather large dose of anesthetic. The constitution of humans and wild animals is different. She was worried that using too little would not be effective, so she increased the dosage.

"Big White, it's alright now. Here, have some goat milk."

When Jian Ning saw that it was awake, she filled a large bottle with warm goat milk and held it to its mouth. Recently, quite a few of the goats in the space had given birth.

After returning, Jian Ning went in and squeezed out quite a bit of it.

Big White blinked laboriously, then forced himself to swallow. This goat milk was pure and unadulterated, and probably didn't taste very good. However, after eating a little, he did seem to be in much better shape.

Xiao Wuyu was finally relieved.

"Jian Ning, let Da Bai rest here. Now, lead me out for a look around."

"Okay, we'll leave after it finishes eating." Jian Ning knew Xiao Wuyu was anxious. After watching Da Bai drink all the goat milk in the bottle, she then took Xiao Wuyu to the immortal mansion outside.

Looking at the otherworldly scenery before him, with the cranes flying leisurely in the sky, the white clouds swirling in the distance, and the lush spiritual energy, Xiao Wuyu gripped the handles of his wheelchair tightly, speechless with excitement.

"This used to be a sect, and I don't know how long it has been abandoned, but the buildings are in good condition. With a little cleaning, it can be habitable."

You can talk to the villagers about it later. If they agree, I can move them out to live here.

Don't worry, there are absolutely no miasma or monsters here. Perhaps there are wild beasts in those mountains over there, but I haven't been there myself.

However, there shouldn't be any danger living here. After all, I'm the owner of this place.

"You'll stay here for now, and once things settle down outside, I can choose a place for you all to move out and live. But there's no guarantee when that will be possible."

Jian Ning didn't dare give him too much hope, in case the outside world continued to experience natural disasters.

It's much more comfortable to live in the immortal abode. At least here, you don't have to worry about food and drink. As long as you are hardworking, you can be self-sufficient in food and livestock.

"This place is already very nice. I really like it. Thank you, Jian Ning. My wish of so many years is finally coming true. I'm so excited."

"But, could I possibly take a look at the world you described during the polar night?"
