Chapter 46 Holding Hands

“Okay,” Xiao Lingfeng turned the boat around and drove the speedboat back to the house. Jian Anping threw the small boat and life jackets onto it for them.

"We're leaving now. You can inflate the boat and then leave."

"Thank you, brother. What's your name? Leave your name so we can thank you later." The middle-aged man was extremely grateful; he had truly met a kind person.

"No need, see you again if fate allows." Xiao Lingfeng left the coal mine in his speedboat before Jian Anping could finish speaking.

He planned to first visit the tent factory next door, where the tarpaulins were sturdy, durable, and waterproof.

That's perfect for storing coal.

Jian Ning didn't know where Xiao Lingfeng wanted to go, but he couldn't stay at the coal mine for the time being.

Once the speedboat stopped, Jian Anping insisted on going down with Xiao Lingfeng this time, leaving Jian Ning to watch the boat from the top.

Unable to dissuade him, I had no choice but to agree.

Sitting on the boat and waiting wasn't in Jian Ning's nature. As soon as the two of them got into the water, she stowed the speedboat and used a water-avoidance spell to head in another direction.

We were incredibly lucky; it turned out to be a cannery.

In the warehouse, Jian Ning discovered tens of thousands of boxes of vacuum-packed canned goods, including black bean fish, luncheon meat, shredded scallops, and canned pineapple. They were all neatly arranged and categorized.

"No need to be polite," Jian Ning said with a wave of her delicate hand, taking everything in one go.

Thankfully, the jade pendant has a fairly large space, but these cans have almost filled the small building.

Jian Ning still left several hundred boxes there. Even if they were soaked in water, these things wouldn't spoil, and if someone came to retrieve them later, they wouldn't leave empty-handed.

After collecting the canned goods, they quickly returned to the water. Seeing that Xiao Lingfeng and the others hadn't returned yet, they took out the assault boat, leaned comfortably against it, and took a small tub of ice cream from their storage space to eat.

It's strawberry flavored and has big chunks of strawberry pulp; it's so refreshing and delicious.

After waiting for another twenty minutes or so, Jian Anping finally surfaced, pulling himself up with the rope. Since he was quite far from Jian Ning, he waved frantically in their direction.

Jian Ning had no choice but to follow Xiao Lingfeng's example, starting the assault boat and spinning it around several times before finally getting the direction right and heading towards Jian Anping's direction.

"Give me a hand, this tarpaulin is so heavy. It's a good thing the water is buoyant, otherwise I wouldn't be able to get it up." Jian Anping breathed a sigh of relief as he helped the boat captain up, and handed the rope in his hand to Jian Ning so she could hold onto it.

It rolled over and went down again. Looks like there are still some good things down there.

Jian Ning tied the rope she was holding to the frame at the back of the assault boat. She sat down and continued waiting.

Jian Anping made five or six trips before Xiao Lingfeng finally returned with her.

"This amount of coal should be enough. Those people should have left by now. Let's go back."

He took off the hood of his wetsuit, his handsome face flushed slightly from the heat, and his hair was soaked with sweat, giving him a kind of messy beauty.

Jian Ning really wanted to reach out and wipe the sweat from his face, but she twitched her fingers slightly and restrained herself.

He stepped aside from the driver's seat and watched as he steered the speedboat, making a neat U-turn and pulling the canvas roll in the water towards the coal yard.

When they arrived at the factory, the people on the rooftops had indeed left. This time, Jian Ning anchored the inflatable boat on the water and followed the two of them, pulling the canvas down into the water.

He specifically brought a crowbar. Xiao Lingfeng opened the warehouse door himself.

The moment the door opened, Jian Ning cast a water-repelling spell. Not a drop of water from outside entered the warehouse. Stepping onto the dry floor, Jian Anping's eyes widened in surprise.

'Strange, what's with this water? Why can't we come in? Is there some kind of formation in this house?'

As he spoke, he reached out and grabbed a handful of the floodwater outside. This scene was utterly contrary to the laws of nature. He couldn't believe his eyes.

"Get to work quickly." Xiao Lingfeng took out a dagger, cut open the canvas in his hand, spread it on the ground, and began to pick up the shovel next to him and start loading coal onto it.

“Actually, it doesn’t have to be so complicated. I have a way to take all this coal away, don’t be scared.” Jian Ning reached out and stopped him.

"How do you do it? Xiao Ning, do you know magic tricks?" Jian Anping walked over and asked curiously.

"More or less." Close your eyes.

Seeing that they both obediently closed their eyes, Jian Ning had a thought, and all the coal in the warehouse entered her spatial dimension. Not even a single piece of coal was left on the ground.

"Alright, I've already changed them all. Let's move on to the next one."

"Really gone? Where did it go?" Jian Anping's eyes widened like saucers. He ran around the house, scraping off the plaster from the walls, but couldn't find any trace of the large pile of coal.

Xiao Lingfeng gave Jian Ning a deep look, but didn't ask a single question.

He picked up the crowbar and headed to the next warehouse. He now felt incredibly stupid for taking so many bundles of canvas.

After collecting coal from ten warehouses, Jian Ning felt that was enough. These canvases couldn't be wasted, so she carried two bundles and floated to the surface.

"Jian Ning, take all these fabrics with you. Let's go get something to eat. We'll pass by the supermarket on the way back." Xiao Lingfeng was quite informal and started assigning tasks.

Jian Ning nodded with a grin, waved her hand, first untied the rope, then waved again, and the boat felt lighter; sure enough, the canvas had vanished.

Jian Anping has given up on asking her what she thinks. Times have changed; anything strange can happen.

Anyway, it won't do him any harm. I'll ask him when I get home, since Xiao Lingfeng, an outsider, will be here.

The journey back was quite smooth. Aside from some obstacles on the water that had to be avoided, there were also many people on the upper floors waving their arms or using bed sheets to call for help.

Xiao Lingfeng ignored them all and drove the speedboat directly to the location of the supermarket from last time.

"Let's put this away too, let's go down together."

"Alright!" Jian Ning didn't hold back anymore and directly stuck two water-repelling talismans on their bodies.

Then, with a thought, the speedboat vanished, and the three of them plummeted straight into the water. Jian Anping screamed in terror.

"Brother, how can you be so timid? It doesn't match your physique at all!" Jian Ning grabbed Jian Anping's arm, slowing his descent.

She held Xiao Lingfeng's hand with her other hand; it wasn't that she was deliberately taking advantage, it was just a coincidence.

Xiao Lingfeng's hands are truly beautiful, with long, slender joints, a cool touch, and some thin calluses on his fingertips.

The moment their hands touched, it felt like an electric current was running through them, and Jian Ning's fair cheeks flushed slightly.
