Chapter 151 Bloodshed

"Open the door! Open the door!" Zhang Jifeng was the first to run over and pound on the villa door. Li Mingxuan hesitated for a moment, just about to go over and open the door.

Miao Xin's cold voice rang out from behind him: "Don't drive. Do you want to die with me?"

"But if we don't open it, those two will have no way to survive!"

Li Mingxuan seemed to see his own future fate reflected in Zhang Jifeng and Li Zhaojie.

When faced with real danger, Miao Xin would surely abandon herself, this burden, without hesitation, right?

"It's too late!" Miao Xin stared coldly out the window, watching helplessly as an octopus monster used its pincers to forcibly break off one of Li Zhaojie's arms.

Then another pair of pliers twisted his head off, and blood splattered everywhere, even onto the floor-to-ceiling glass window.

A piercing scream echoed throughout the villa. Li Mingxuan closed his eyes in pain, unable to bear watching any longer.

What are these things?

Despite the bloody scene, Miao Xin didn't even blink, though she was a little puzzled, as there was nothing like this monster in her precognitive dreams.

Could it be that her dream was incomplete, and she missed these deadly monsters?

"Did those eggs in the sea hatch? Sister Xin, have you forgotten? Didn't the government collect a lot of white eggs a while ago?"

I think I heard someone say that it was full of monsters. They must not have destroyed them all back then; these are the things that hatched. They're really something!

"It's highly likely that these monsters are too powerful and difficult to deal with!"

Miao Xin watched as the octopus monster outside devoured Li Zhaojie and Zhang Jifeng in the short time it took. The yard was covered in blood, and their intestines were spilling out all over the ground.

The scene was far too bloody. Hearing no movement outside, Li Mingxuan opened his eyes, glanced around, covered his mouth, and ran into the bathroom.

"You're really useless. You can't even handle such a small situation. You're much better, Wenhao!"

Miao Xin glanced disdainfully in the direction Li Mingxuan had run off in. How could she have been so blind to have fallen for him? Now it seemed he was utterly useless and she had to feed him.

"That's because Sister Xin trained us well. Our house is so sturdy, these monsters can't get in, right?" Liu Wenhao asked with some concern, looking at the monster outside the window that was trying to smash the window with pliers.

"Don't worry, I had these windows custom-made. Even bullets can't break them. These monsters will have to wait until their next life to get in."

Although Miao Xin said that, she was still a little worried. She asked Liu Wenhao to call Li Wenxuan out and seal up all the ventilation openings in the villa with iron plates.

If those things actually manage to get in, with her mediocre marksmanship, she probably wouldn't be able to kill a single one.

It's not just the villas; residents living in low-rise buildings on the outskirts of the city...

Today, all areas were attacked by monsters to varying degrees. Only the central part of the city remained unaffected because the egg had been cleared relatively well.

Only Jian Ning had exceptionally good hearing. While chatting with Uncle Li after dinner, she kept hearing pitiful cries coming from all directions, which puzzled her. What was going on?

Why are the dead so concentrated here? They must have been attacked by some kind of animal. And a very powerful one at that. I have to go check it out.

He stood up with a smile: "Uncle Li, why don't you take a nap too? I'm sleepy too, I'm going home to get some rest."

"Okay, okay, Uncle Li is just happy to see you like this, he won't stop pulling you along. You should go home now. I'm not sleepy yet, I'll have some more tea."

"Okay, I'll head back now. Brothers, don't go out today!"

Jian Ning gave another instruction, and as she opened the door to go out, Jian Anping followed her out: "Xiao Ning, has something happened? I hear something strange outside."

"Yes, quite a few people have died. I'm going to take a look. You absolutely mustn't go out."

"Okay, you be careful too." Although Jian Anping was worried, he knew that his sister's skills were far beyond his own.

He'd only cause trouble if he went along; he'd be better off staying home and taking care of his family.

Jian Ning nodded.

He cast an invisibility spell on himself and flew away through the wall on his sword.

Along the way, I witnessed many bloody tragedies in the buildings. In any house that these monsters entered, the entire family was killed, with no one surviving.

Wherever she went, she didn't miss a single one of those octopus-like monsters; Jian Ning beheaded them all.

In a way, it indirectly saved the lives of the remaining people in the building.

As for the villa area halfway up the mountain, Jian Ning didn't go there. She just cleared out the monsters near the city and then flew away on her sword to find Xiao Lingfeng.

He was still filling the large jar with water when he suddenly felt a gentle tug on his shoulder. His usually stern face immediately broke into a smile.

Is that you?

"Yes, I need to talk to you. Let's find somewhere else to talk," Jian Ning whispered in Xiao Lingfeng's ear.

Didn't you see that after she finished speaking, Xiao Lingfeng's ears immediately turned as red as if they were about to bleed?

He stood up and greeted the person next to him, saying, "I'm going out to use the restroom, I'll be right back."

"Okay, I'll hold them off for now." The soldier next to him also seemed to have water-based abilities. After Xiao Lingfeng stood up, he immediately sat down and continued filling the large jar with water.

"What happened?" Xiao Lingfeng asked directly after leading Jian Ning to a place where they could talk.

"Quite a few of those eggs have already hatched, and many people have died on the outskirts of the city. Report this to the commander and it would be best to make some preparations."

"So fast? Shouldn't it still take some time for it to hatch?" Xiao Lingfeng really didn't expect this egg to be so threatening.

“Eggs are laid at different times; they can’t all hatch at the same time. I’ve already told you the news; I’m going back home because I’m worried about my family.”

"Okay, thank you for your hard work. I'll come to see you when I get back tonight."

Xiao Lingfeng felt a sudden emptiness beside him, knowing that Jian Ning had left. He quickly straightened his clothes and hurried towards the chief's office.

This is indeed a major issue. If it is not handled properly, the entire population of Jianghai City could very well perish here.

I don't know if this weapon will be effective against monsters; hopefully, it will kill them. Otherwise, the outlook is very bleak.

After informing Xiao Lingfeng of the news, Jian Ning returned directly to Jinmao Mansion.

She had done her best. As for how long these survivors could hold on, that was beyond her control. Survival of the fittest was the law of nature. She could not become a savior by herself.
