Chapter 212 Going to Sea

"What's wrong? What happened?" Xiao Lingfeng, holding a lunchbox of steamed buns, paused for a moment. He quickly glanced around the room, but there was nothing there.

Why did Jian Ning become so enthusiastic and proactive after not seeing him for one night? It was completely unlike her usual self, and it felt very strange to him.

"It's nothing, I just missed you a little." Jian Ning sniffed, her muffled voice coming from Xiao Lingfeng's chest.

"You missed me after just one night? Or did something happen? It's okay, just tell me, and we'll share the burden together."

Xiao Lingfeng supported Jian Ning's waist with one hand, took a few steps into the house, placed the lunchbox in his hand on the table, gently patted her back twice, and softly comforted her.

"What did you say? How long has it been since we last saw each other?"

Jian Ning looked up in surprise and asked Xiao Lingfeng.

"Is there anything wrong with just one night? The wild game we hunted in the mountains yesterday is being served with pork-filled buns today. The soldiers are very grateful to you. They are able to eat such good food thanks to you."

Xiao Lingfeng held onto Jian Ning's waist tightly, unwilling to let go. He already had feelings for Jian Ning, and now that she had taken the initiative to throw herself into his arms, whoever let go first would be a fool.

"So it's a mustard seed space; time is out of sync inside and outside!"

Jian Ning muttered to herself, she really hadn't expected it. She thought that at least half a year would have passed since she came back, which was why she was so excited to see Xiao Lingfeng.

"What did you say? I don't understand?" Xiao Lingfeng asked again.

"It's nothing, maybe I didn't sleep well and had a dream all night. There was someone in my dream who looked exactly like you. Now I don't understand how to distinguish between illusion and reality!" Jian Ning sighed and stepped out of Xiao Lingfeng's arms.

"The person in my dream looks just like me?" Xiao Lingfeng repeated.

"Yes, it's amazing. It's just that it's older than you, probably over fifty. It's what you'll look like in your old age."

Jian Ning recalled Xiao Wuyu's appearance and then carefully examined Xiao Lingfeng's appearance. Upon closer inspection, there were indeed differences.

Xiao Lingfeng smiled slightly. It seemed that he was quite important to Jian Ning; she even dreamed of him. Although they were different ages, it didn't matter.

He opened the lunchbox on the table and pushed it forward a bit. Smiling, he asked, "Have a couple of steamed buns, they taste great!"

"I can't eat anymore. I ate this morning. Eating like this without any porridge, how about a bowl of eight-treasure porridge, or millet porridge?" Jian Ning turned on the air conditioner. It was too cold; the buns were cold.

"Millet porridge will do,"

Xiao Lingfeng didn't stand on ceremony. He turned around, closed the door, and took the bowl of millet porridge that Jian Ning handed him. It was in a takeout box and still steaming.

He sat down and began to eat heartily.

Jian Ning brought him some side dishes and tea eggs. Eating them together with steamed buns was the perfect breakfast combination.

Xiao Lingfeng rarely gets to eat his fill. He ate every last bit of what Jian Ning had brought out.

Including the four large meat buns in the lunchbox. It was supposed to be two buns per person, but he ate them all by himself.

"Let's go, not up the mountain today, how about the sea?" Xiao Lingfeng asked Jian Ning, after cleaning the lunchbox with a cleaning spell and placing it on the table.

"Sure, you can use these spirit stones to cultivate."

With a wave of her hand, Jian Ning instantly filled the table with mid-grade spirit stones. The rich spiritual energy made Xiao Lingfeng's eyes widen in surprise.

"Where did you get this? Did you discover a spirit stone mine?"

"I dug it up in my dream." Jian Ning smiled slightly. She didn't tell him the truth; sometimes, necessary secrets must be kept.

Xiao Lingfeng didn't ask any more questions. Instead, he put all the spirit stones into his own space and then went to the beach with Jian Ning.

They're both celebrities in the area now. On their way out, soldiers looked at them with respect in their eyes.

Jane's arrival not only provided them with a large amount of powder to enhance their abilities after killing a large number of octopus monsters, but also...

Most importantly, they also brought fresh food. People who catch pigs on the mountain are lucky; if they keep them for themselves and don't share them, no one will say anything.

But Jian Ning didn't hold anything back. She shared the resources she obtained.

Although the military and civilians are said to be one family, such qualities are so precious in these apocalyptic times. How many people would fight to the death for a piece of bread or a little food?

Jian Ning is truly a breath of fresh air in this apocalyptic world. The key is that she's incredibly capable, despite looking like a delicate and frail girl. She surpasses all the superhuman warriors in monster-slaying prowess, exuding an aura of dominance. You can't help but admire her.

The octopus monster in the sea has also developed its own consciousness; it's noticeably smarter today.

The two of them spent half a day in the sea and only managed to kill seventy or eighty monsters. These were all mindless monsters; any of them with a modicum of intelligence kept their distance from the two of them and didn't come any closer.

However, Jian Ning caught quite a few of those spiky silver fish. She drugged them alive with sedatives, because catching them alive without using drugs is virtually impossible.

Because they swim so fast and are almost invisible. Aside from using a sleeping potion, Jian Ning hasn't come up with a better solution.

"There are significantly fewer monsters here. How about we venture deeper into the sea?" Xiao Lingfeng also felt that today's encounter wasn't quite as exciting as the day before yesterday. There were far too few monsters to extract anything from them.

“Okay, you can steer the boat, and we’ll go find the monster’s lair.” Jian Ning’s interest was immediately piqued by his suggestion.

Everything has a beginning. Even if these monsters are mutated, they didn't appear out of thin air; they must have a parent entity.

It was most likely deep in the ocean, and if her estimation was correct, it should be near the island nation. So the two boarded the boat, confirmed their location, and then steered the kayak directly into the deep sea.

The further they went, the more monsters they encountered, constantly jumping onto the boat, trying to devour the two of them. Of course, Jian Ning beheaded them all and threw their bodies back into the sea.

With their goal clearly defined, the two simply ate a bowl of beef noodles that evening and continued sailing. They didn't need to rest or sleep anyway, as they had plenty of energy and stamina.

They sailed eastward. After nearly three days at sea, they finally saw the coastline where the two countries met in the distance. Only then did Xiao Lingfeng stop the ship.

Then he asked Jian Ning, "Shall we rest for a bit first, and then go down and take a look?"

"Okay, I see there aren't many people on the other side. How about we go over there for a while and see if we can find any good stuff?"
