Chapter 65 It's good to be rich

Lin Songhao slowly drew his dagger. A flash of cold light appeared, revealing the sharp blade, which had the sharpness to cut through iron like mud.

He exclaimed in surprise, "Wow, this dagger is much better than the one I just saw!" The blade was smooth as a mirror, without a single flaw, clearly meticulously crafted. Its edge was incredibly sharp, radiating a chilling aura.

Lin Yajun smiled and explained, "Of course. That dagger was only worth one tael of silver, while this one costs ten taels. The price difference is so big, the quality must be different too." As she paid, she said to her younger brother.

Lin Songhao couldn't help but sigh, "It's so good to be rich. I wish I could be a rich person, so I could buy whatever I want!"

Hearing her brother's words, Lin Yajun couldn't help but chuckle.

Looking at her younger brother's innocent face, Lin Yajun said earnestly, "Little brother, as long as you study hard and practice your kung fu diligently, your older sister will definitely find a way to make you a rich person!"

Hearing his sister's words, Lin Songhao replied sensibly, "Sister, don't work too hard. I was just saying it casually."

Hearing her younger brother's words, Lin Yajun felt a surge of emotion. She knew that although her brother was still young, he was very sensible and understanding of her hardships.

Compared to Lin Jiang, who cruelly murdered her sister for compensation, Lin Songhao was practically an angel. He was a truly qualified family member, a younger brother worthy of her love and care.

Lin Yajun gently reached out and touched her younger brother's big head, saying softly, "Okay, little brother."

Lin Songhao shook his head somewhat embarrassedly and said, "Sister, don't touch a man's head when you're out. People will laugh at me."

Lin Yajun and Zhao Canchen, who was standing next to her, couldn't help but chuckle upon hearing this.

As the three walked back, Lin Yajun saw a street ahead where all the shops were three stories high, magnificent, and bustling with activity.

She pointed to a building with a restaurant sign and asked with a smile, "Would you like to get something to eat?"

Lin Yajun found the ancient world quite strange. The original owner of this body had never left the house after her engagement, staying indoors embroidering her wedding dress. If she were to stroll around like she was now, she would be accused of being unchaste and might even have her engagement broken off. Therefore, she longed to visit lively places and sample some local delicacies.

Zhao Canchen nodded, "Then let's go take a look."

He rarely went out, but seeing that Lin Yajun was in high spirits, he decided to take her around.

Lin Songhao suddenly remembered something and pointed to the restaurant, saying, "Sister, that place has delicious fried sparrows."

"Ah, fried sparrows?" Lin Yajun was startled. Most of the drones she launched were sparrows. After hearing her brother's words, she immediately made a decision, "It seems that from now on I will have to launch dragonfly or fly drones instead. They can't possibly fry dragonflies and flies to eat, can they?"

Although the little insect flying drone has a slightly weaker battery, it's still better than being shot down and ending up as a stainless steel sparrow.

As the three of them approached the restaurant's entrance, they encountered several men coming down from the restaurant. Upon seeing Zhao Canchen, they hurriedly bowed.

Zhao Canchen recognized the group and quickly asked, "Guard Wang, is Prince Song's illness any better?"

"It's the same as always. His Highness Prince Song is coughing non-stop. The Princess's residence sent someone to deliver medicine, and our young master will also be back in a few days to pick up his medicine." A middle-aged man frowned and explained, "We're here today to accompany the young master back to get his medicine. The young master is going to the palace to see His Majesty, so we brothers are here at the restaurant for dinner."

It turned out they were guards from the Prince of Song's residence.

Those men recognized Lin Songhao, after all, he was the eldest son of their head guard, and greeted him, "Little Hao."

"Uncle Wang, Uncle Li, Uncle Ding..." Lin Songhao stepped forward, bowed, and greeted them.

"Xiao Hao has grown taller again." Guard Wang patted Lin Songhao's head.

"We'll wait for the Crown Prince outside the palace. Farewell!" Guard Wang waved his hand and led the others away in a hurry.

"Sigh, the thought of Uncle Song's illness makes me feel bad," Zhao Canchen said sadly. "I can only stay in the city and can't go outside to visit him."

He felt guilty because the Prince of Song was isolated by the royal family because of raising him, which caused him to suffer from a chronic cough that was difficult to cure and would worsen every autumn and winter.

Lin Yajun considerately said, "Then we won't go to the restaurant for dinner."

"Okay, we'll come again next time," Zhao Canchen promised.

The three of them took a few more steps forward and came to a place covered with red lanterns.

Looking up, I saw a plaque hanging high above the door, with the words "Hundred Flowers Garden" written in large gold characters.

These three characters are written with vigorous strokes and a powerful momentum.

As she drew closer, a rich fragrance wafted towards her. It wasn't the scent of flowers or incense, but a unique, intoxicating aroma. Lin Yajun couldn't help but take a deep breath, savoring the pleasure it brought.

Several beautiful women dressed in flamboyant attire came out of the door to greet us. They wore brightly colored dresses, some red and some green, and their faces were adorned with exquisite makeup. Their eyebrows and eyes were like paintings, and their smiles were charming and captivating.

"Please come in, young master." The woman's gentle voice seemed to penetrate one's soul, making one involuntarily want to obey her.

"Come on, young man!" Another woman poked her head out from the door and called out coquettishly.

Lin Yajun suddenly realized that this was a brothel! Her eyes widened as she curiously examined the ancient brothel, her heart filled with novelty and anticipation.

Just then, a group of people filed out of the brothel's main entrance. They were all dressed in identical dark blue brocade robes, their steps precise and their demeanor imposing. They surrounded a man in white, as if he were the moon surrounded by stars.

Zhao Canchen stood still, his gaze fixed on the man in white. Lin Yajun also noticed the group, and when she saw the man in white's face, she was taken aback.

"What a handsome man!" Lin Yajun thought to herself in amazement.

The white-clad man had a handsome face and fair skin, like a jade sculpture. His face was adorned with a pair of slender phoenix eyes, which revealed arrogance and indifference as they moved.

The man in white also noticed Zhao Canchen and Lin Yajun. His brows furrowed slightly, and his cold gaze swept over Zhao Canchen like lightning.

When he saw Lin Yajun staring at him, his phoenix eyes narrowed slightly, as if he was angry at her attention.

Seeing this, Zhao Canchen quickly stepped forward and shielded Lin Yajun behind him.

Lin Yajun then came to her senses and realized that looking at someone like that would be very impolite in ancient times. She quickly lowered her head and stopped looking at the man in white.

"Hmph." A cold smile appeared on the white-robed man's lips as he strode forward, followed closely by the group of men in brocade robes.
